File source problem with File:Illinois MarchingIllini.mp3

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Illinois MarchingIllini.mp3. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Samy Khalid moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Samy Khalid, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your submission at Articles for creation: Samy Khalid has been accepted

[edit]
Samy Khalid, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

A tag has been placed on File:Turtlehead Lake at sunset.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Request for feedback on an article

Hi there Jack, hope this is the appropriate place to post this. I'm a student working on the following article, String Quartet No. 10 (Shostakovich). Saw that you have recently edited the Shostakovich page, and was wondering if you could offer feedback on my article. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Alyth coat of arms

[edit]

Thanks very much for adding the Alyth coat of arms, and especially for using the Burgh of Barony version with the masonry coronet - most people here in the town are only familiar with the Community Council version which has the golden coronet. Would it be possible to add the town's motto to the arms, as detailed here: https://www.heraldry-wiki.com/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Alyth I would try to add it myself, but I'm afraid my graphic software skills don't extend that far! Kevwik (talk) 12:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC) comment added by Kevwik (talkcontribs) 10:25, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kevwik: Hey, I appreciate your gratitude towards my work. I will add the motto as soon as I can, I actually went off that website for the arms but must have completely forgot to add the motto. I'll do that ASAP. Jack Ryan Morris (talk) 17:10, 18 June 2021 (UTC) Hi Jack - that's fantastic, thanks very much! Great work.Kevwik(talk) 12:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC) comment added by Kevwik (talkcontribs)[reply]

Hi again Jack - I've just noticed that you've added the motto. Love the design and the typeface! I'm really sorry to be picky, but there's a spelling error in the last word: it should be "ABUNE", not "ABUNDE". ABUNE is a Scots/Northern English dialect word meaning "above", or "beyond".Kevwik(talk) 12:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC) comment added by Kevwik (talkcontribs)[reply]

@Kevwik: I'm sorry! I misread the page. I'll fix it ASAP. Jack Ryan Morris (talk) 17:33, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's perfect - thanks very much! If it's OK with you, I'm going to use it on the front cover of the July issue of our local community magazine that I edit, replacing the incorrect older copy we had which turns out to be the community council arms, not the burgh (see the June issue for comparison: https://alythvoice.co.uk/index_htm_files/21JUNE.pdf). As well as being more accurate for the town's magazine (since we're not affiliated to the community council), your version looks crisper and more modern-looking in its design. We'll include you in the front-cover credits on page 2. Hope that's OK?Kevwik (talk) 18:36, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kevwik: That sounds awesome! You have full permission to use it. Jack Ryan Morris (talk) 01:20, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142

[edit]

Hello Jack Ryan Morris,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142 for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as File:Seal of New Vista, IL.png, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

I've noticed that you've made a and for a city named Charmant in Illinois. There is no city b that name I am wondering if this is just some sort of fan-fiction flag, or if it was some obscure proposed municipality I've never heard of before. The only other source for the city and its flag is from an ebay listing for it, which is probably just ripping your work and selling it. What is the source for this? thanks for clearing this up for me. Scu ba (talk) 14:35, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
