I just redirected it. It's a likely search term. Bearian (talk) 19:54, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Note that I tried redirecting it too [1], but this was immediately reverted by the editor creating the fork [2], so please keep an eye on this. Thanks, Invitrovanitas (talk) 09:09, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Balaton
Please, give your reasons for labelling my input to the Balaton article as 'original research'. I can improve the wording but the facts are no original research per se (e.g. the average depth data).

- If you are the owner of the copyrighted material and want to make it available under a public license, please have a read of WP:IOWN. Please also have a read of WP:Conflict of interest, since you are pretty closely connected with the subject of the article, and it will be difficult for you to write about it objectively. Hong Kong Outstanding Students Awards
Hello,
Thank you very much for sending me a message regarding the potential conflict of interest. I believe I should have cited the information as necessary with sufficient primary and secondary sources. But please feel free to let me know if there is anything else I should cite. So, from now on, whenever I make edits, I am supposed to do it in the draft page first, right? But then how can you proofread them? How should I send the draft article to you? Or will you be able to read it automatically?
Thanks :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Karlchan104 (talk • contribs) 09:14, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hello, and thanks for your contributions. You don't need to post a draft page, since the article is already up. But do please read WP:Conflict of interest, and be very careful about how you edit about a subject with which you are closely connected: at the moment it reads like an advert, and much of the content will need to be re-written from a WP:Neutral point of view. Thanks, Invitrovanitas (talk) 09:23, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey -- Sincere apologies for the sloppy copy-and-paste job. Would you kindly take a look at my changes and see if it passes muster? I'm interested in learning so I don't repeat the same mistake(s). Thanks! Contextmatters (talk) 15:36, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

- Looks like another editor agreed that the tweaks fixed the copyright issue, but then put it on redirect as s/he felt it sounded "spammy" -- certainly not my intention but I guess I can see what s/he means. questions for you
I am trying to create a draft page, but when I click on my user name at the top of my page it says that it hasn't been created yet and should be created and edited by me. I'm assuming this is just to give a little information about me and things like that? I wasn't really sure what to do with that.
Then I need to create a draft page... I'm assuming that will be on my user page and then I can ask an editor to proof it before I publish it?
Thanks so much for your help!

- Hello. Yes that's right, your user page User:BettyHTurner is usually used for putting a bit of info about yourself, or notices about how you like to edit: you can find more info on this at Wikipedia:User pages. I'd be happy to help you create a WP:User subpage, or you might instead consider using the Article Wizard at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Just let me know if you'd like help with either one. Thanks, Invitrovanitas (talk) 09:27, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Vlad Man
Vlad Man is a design that me and a friend have and we wish to have a wikipedia page to explain 'Vlad Man'. He is a fictional character that has appeared as a comic book strip in Russia as well as Bradford. It is still in it's 'take-off' stage but plans on becoming a hot with readers. Its like a Batman concept but Russian and plans to becaome like Batman without the mega films to go with it so please keep it on. Migitgem2009 (talk) 11:39, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

New page patrol
Hi. Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in on New Page Patrol. It looksas if you are having a high success rate with your deletions. When you come across a page like Ali Farhadi, a living erson with absolutely no references at all, be bold and apply a WP:BLPPROD template on it. Happy editing! --Kudpung (talk) 12:03, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mark Biplob
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mark Biplob requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Invitrovanitas (talk) 12:34, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
New page patrol
Hi. Thanks again for all the hard work you're putting in on New Page Patrol (I've seen your patrol log). When you come across a page like User:Markbiplob, be bold and apply a WP:CSD A7 template on it rather than moving it to user space. The creator may misinterpret that it could eventually be authorised for publication - and you'll aso avoid receiving embarrassing AfD notices ;) Keep up the good work! --Kudpung (talk) 05:17, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. But I'm not quite clear on this one. When are autobios are appropriate for WP:Userfying, if not that one? It was all in the first person: "This is what I like to do", etc. Also not clear on where an AFD would come from: I immediately speedied the redirect to userspace db-r2, then speedied his attempt at re-adding his bio to the redirect db-a7. Thanks, Invitrovanitas (talk) 09:03, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's easy - autobios are not appropriate, period. Anything like that written in the first person is an automatic WP:COI for starters. Anyone writing their own bio is almost certainly not notable - you can tell them quite politely on their talk page "If your work has received significant recognition, someone else will have already written your bio for you and we will have an excellent, independent, third-party source to cite."
- We have three standard deletion processe, in this order: WP:CSD (speedy deletion) for really obvious things that must be very quickly deleted. It can be contested, but the creator has to be very quick to put a "hang on" tag on it. WP:PROD (or WP:BLPPROD for totally unreferenced articles about people), for articles you're pretty sure will get deleted uncontested after 7 days, but the creator gets that 7-day chance to cdo something about it. Then WP:AfD (Article for Deletion) s a last resort when all the others have failed, or been contested but you are still pretty sure that if it's debated, the community will vote to delete it - but sometimes they !vote to keep it - you take a chance on that! Read all those links, and don't get despondent, it took me three years and 15,000 edits to fathom it all out, and I still sometimes make mistakes, and so do admins. ;)
- Yes, I understand all that about CSD and AFD, but what then is appropriate for WP:Userfying from a new editor? Invitrovanitas (talk) 09:32, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Generally nothing that concerns anyone who is not an admin. The most frequent use of 'userfying' is when an admin releases an already deleted page to the creator for the sole purpose of improving the article in user space only before reposting it to main space. The creator must put up a credible argument for wanting it back. It may also be restored to user space as a suggestin from a Deletion Review consensus, and more rarely on a consensus at an AfD.Kudpung (talk) 12:50, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Kalorik
I am trying to create a page for Kalorik. I have never used wikipedia to edit before and the page was deleted for advertising and then I was blocked from editing it while I was trying to fix whatever caused you to suspect it as advertising, which it wasnt. Please advise what would be acceptable to post on the page if the company profile and links to press reviews are not? Cfrederico (talk) 15:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC) Christine —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cfrederico (talk • contribs) 15:29, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Since you appear to be the Sales and Marketing Coordinator of the company, I would strongly suggest that you edit about other subjects, and wait for someone without a clear WP:Conflict of interest to write about your company. Thanks, Invitrovanitas (talk) 15:32, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
I dont understand the issue. A simple company profile and press link is not advertising, regardless of who I am. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nusbaum85 (talk • contribs) 19:25, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Mobile Application Platform
Hello Invitrovanitas,
Thank you for your feedback.
Quite honestly, my aim was to create a page for a technology that is growing in popularity in the market and did not have any representation on Wikipedia yet. I did my best to describe it as objectively as possible and present the popular Mobile Application Platforms in the market (I even ordered them alphabetically).
Per the suggestion to merge this page with that of Mobile Application Development, I have to disagree. There are several development tools in the market for mobile applications, but non of them can be regarded as a platform. Some examples are PhoneGap, Appcelerator, Sencha, JQuery, and so on. None of which includes components that handle integration and management. Some do not even comprise of a fully functional IDE.
My plan is to contact the other platforms mentioned in this article and have them co-edit this piece to keep it as objective as possible.
I would appreciate if you could help me with specific feedback about the deleted sections.
Thank you for your help. Jonathan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jk1977 (talk • contribs) 21:40, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- It appears that you are an employee of WorkLight, one of the companies listed in Mobile Application Development and the subject of WorkLight. As such I strongly recommend that you do not edit articles with which you have such a clear WP:Conflict of interest: please wait for someone not connected with your company to write about it. Thank you, Invitrovanitas (talk) 21:45, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Michael E Tindall
I tried a mention of him on Conroe,TX and it was removed by another user stating it was about a person, not conroe, so I made the page of him and added it to conroe.... nothing is ever good enough to satisfy everyone on here! :( what do you suggest? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Freejohngotti (talk • contribs) 10:14, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- I would definitely disagree with the editor who removed it, and would support you on restoring the mention there: it's about the crime, not about the guy who committed it. Invitrovanitas (talk) 10:20, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, I will restore it to the Conroe, TX page, and agree with the Michael E Tindall removal. (Freejohngotti (talk) 10:26, 7 December 2010 (UTC))
Nomination of The sparrow on the windowsill for deletion
A discussion has begun about whether the article The sparrow on the windowsill, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The sparrow on the windowsill until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. JamesBWatson (talk) 17:23, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
