Ways to improve Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders
[edit]Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. Jinkinson, thanks for creating Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please review guidelines for journals and help establish notability for this within the article.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:48, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Paul Ashwood
[edit]On 1 November 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Paul Ashwood, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Paul Ashwood, a researcher at the MIND Institute, has produced evidence that autistic children exhibit abnormal immune responses relative to neurotypical children? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Paul Ashwood. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Tagging of Conch Republic national anthem
[edit]I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Conch Republic national anthem. I do not think that Conch Republic national anthem fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because This turns out to be accurate, as a couple of minutes with Google discovered. A hoax speedy should not be done where there is any question. The name of the micronation is the clue here. . I request that you consider not re-tagging Conch Republic national anthem for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 14:49, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Medical BLPs and primary sources
[edit]Hi, Jinkinson. You've done a great deal of very fine work on medical articles and BLPs, but after this week's DYKs, and after looking closely at the articles that appeared at DYK, I am concerned about how you are using sources, and have started a discussion on the Medicine Project to get more feedback. If others share my concern (they may not), some cleanup may be needed. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:47, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Speedy Deletion???
[edit]The articles in this category have been proposed for deletion since November 4, 2013. Once an article has been tagged with {{proposed deletion}} for at least 7 days (it is currently 16:27, Monday November 4, 2013 (UTC)) it may be deleted by an admin. Anyone can remove the prod template at any time if they disagree with the deletion to stop the process. Only uncontroversial articles may be deleted using proposed deletion. Do not re-list an article if someone has removed the prod template; instead, list it on WP:AFD and seek a consensus to delete it.
Once this category is at least 7 days old and it no longer contains any articles it should be speedily deleted.

I'm in the process of creating a new taskforce under Wikiproject Medicine, namely the Society and Medicine taskforce (here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Society and medicine task force). I was wondering, seeing as you've shown an interest in creating biographical articles, if you'd like to participate? There's no obligations, and I envision this task force as being a way to track and improve the quality of biographies and other articles relating to the medicine and your society, and provide a common forum for discussion. Hi Jinkinson, I saw that you marked Aide et Action as reviewed today. I just wanted to let you know that the article was a blatant copyright violation (and had already been deleted as such once before) and I've just deleted it again. If you're not already doing it, please try to do a quick google, or at least a "is this plausible original writing" check on articles you review, to help avoid passing copyvios out of the review queue. - Well I'm not sure why you decided to ask me (probably because I delsorted the AFD for this article), but I'll see what I can do. If you want this article not to be deleted, you should add references to independent reliable sources in which this gameshow has received significant coverage. See WP:GNG. The article is currently very short, there is no lead section, and we don't know whether this gameshow is hosted by a TV channel or a radio station (though it seems to be the latter based on the link to the website of a Nigerian radio station. Anyway, to reiterate the above, this article needs reliable sources with no affiliation with the subject, and fast, since everyone who has voted in the AFD has voted "delete." [edit]You seem to have reverted my contribution. Why? It was a perfectly valid point and a factual one at that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scarbraa (talk • contribs) 01:23, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
It seems to have been unreferenced. If you are sure that the word pint was invented by Eddie Burns, add a reference to a reliable source that says so when adding it to this website. Additionally, you linked to Eddie Burns, but the only Eddie Burns on this encyclopedia is an Australian rugby league player, which convinced me that your edit was likely made up. If it isn't, I apologize, but it looks like you have vandalized this site a few times before, so it wouldn't be surprising if this were just one more case of your having done so. [edit]Was just curious as to why you chose not to nominate David_McCrum for speedy deletion, I was going to so nominate but seemed rude to do so without mentioning it. --nonsense ferret 23:15, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- Good question. With unsourced BLPs, sometimes it's hard to tell whether it should be speedied or prodded; I tend to prefer prodding since that gives them a chance to find and add sources. Jinkinson talk to me 23:17, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- You got to it first, so I'll respect that choice, but a claim to notability based on five-a-side football in the UK, which is not a professional sport, nor widely reported in news sources, I would have guessed classic A7. --nonsense ferret 23:24, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right, it probably should have been speedied. However, ever since people started declining some of my speedy deletion nominations I have preferred to err on the side of caution and prod rather than speedy when dealing with short articles that aren't really, really short, and which sometimes actually make a claim that they are well-known for something. If you want to speedy it, though, go ahead. Jinkinson talk to me 23:31, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Updating URLs
[edit]This is Cory Panshin. Because of a screw-up at the domain host for our website, links using the old ISP-issued address of www.enter.net/~torve no longer work, while those using our own domain name of www.panshin.com function properly. I began going through the numerous entries with references to our website in order to change the non-working links to working links. All of these go to the identical pages at the same service provider as before. I have not added any text to the entries or made any attempts to spam. However, all my changes have been reverted and I have been warned that I may be blocked from editing if I "harm" any more pages. - Unfortunately, not just anyone gets to have a Wikipedia page--your father's page will only remain here if you can add references to independent reliable sources--being his son, you are not an independent source. It looks like your father is fairly well-known, though, so there should be some sources you can add which would justify the removal of the PROD tag, such as this link. I am relatively new to Wikipedia and wanted to try editing. I live in the Philadelphia region and felt like the Wistar page needed a serious update to reflect their more current science. In doing so, I wanted to create pages for at least some of their current faculty. I am following a model similar to what the Monell Chemical Senses Center uses. It's another relatively small research institution in University City. Hope that answers your question!
