[edit]
If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 10:21, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

I've fixed the formatting of your request, your choice of new username should go where it said "your proposed new username" and your statement should go where the words "your reason here" were, I've done this for you. It may be easier to do these things if you use the straight editor by clicking "edit" and not "reply"; the reply function is imperfect and does not work well in all situations(which is only apparent via experience, not your fault).
Someone else will review your request, but I would be willing to remove the block and carry out the rename if you agree to comply with the conflict of interest policy(if your role in the society is compensated in any manner, it doesn't have to be money, the paid editing policy would apply instead) and also propose edits in the form of an edit request(the edit request wizard can facilitate this). Ideally you should be editing based on the content of independent reliable sources- not based on the research your organization has performed. We want to know the sources it uses. 331dot (talk) 13:57, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- @InaBoyleSociety, this sounds fine to me as well, I just want to add that for WP:V reasons, we want all sources to be published sources of some kind, so that a reader could theoretically verify that the source does confirm what is written in the article. You'll want to avoid "website-like" phrasing such as "see this site for more information" and scrupulously adhere to the guidelines WP:NPOV if you want your edit requests to be accepted. Let us know if you have any questions about this. If you're unblocked and you have questions in the future, you can ask at WP:TEA. -- asilvering (talk) 18:09, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- In case it hasn't been mentioned, printed sources are considered valid if they meet Wikipedia's standards of reliable sources. If the publication comes from a reputable publisher, and you can cite certain details (e.g. author, title, publisher, date of publication, page number(s), etc.), then that will be considered acceptable. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:35, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for the update and information, I really appreciate it. Apologies, could I please clarify if I need to do anything further now to be unblocked? Thank you for your time. 2A02:C7C:5142:D100:81ED:4ACD:A135:C53A (talk) 09:32, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
