First article

[edit]

Congratulations on developing the new article. At the moment, however, it does not appear to merit a place in an encyclopaedia. I hope you are going to continue developing it further! BTW, you should consider adding to your user page (currently highlighted in red at the top left) to let us know some more about you, when we click on your link (which appears after you sign your a contributions on the talk pages) Welcome to Wikipedia! docboat 11:52, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty new to editorship of wikipedia - any advice, guidence and / or help would be very much appriciated. Herrnieman 14:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just get started, as you have! Use the Wikipedia:Sandbox to get a feel for using the editing features, browse the links you received when you started - I still use them a lot (a lot!) and I personally find that the more I need to edit, the more features I find. There are only a few or "no-no's" ... and mostly things are OK if you are polite. If you need any help, just call for it - most of us who contribute regularly are more than happy to answer questions. docboat 00:13, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers docboat - and I'll get that first article up to scratch too, as well as the others I've created and edited. Herrnieman 11:07, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Second city of the United Kingdom - Request for Rational Debate

[edit]

As a recent, and possibly significant, contributor to the Second city of the United Kingdom article, I'd like to direct your attention to this edit on the Talk Page regarding a Request for Rational Debate on the subject of the article. All the best. Sprigot 15:12, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Herrnieman! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Belur V. Dasarathy - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

I have nominated Wayne Horkan, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wayne Horkan. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
