Thank you ^_^ — ΛΧΣ21 21:24, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Any more trophies to come? (✉→BWilkins←✎) 00:52, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Any more enemies to come? I see you are doing a pretty good job thus far. I'm sure Hahc is gonna respond nicely... Although he shouldn't and even at all. Status 01:02, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Bwilkins: I don't consider that being an ArbCom clerk, a mediator, a member of IEGCom, an FL delegate or an OTRS member (correct me if I forgot something) are trophies. I consider that those are ways I can help this project to become a better place, giving my time and effort to offer a helping hand as much and broad as possible, at any corner of the website. A trophy is something you get and don't use. If we talk about the long list of rights I hold, I use them all but the rollbacker flag, which may be the only one I could consider a trophy, given that I don't use it anymore. I am glad that you are watching me and keeping track of what I do on the 'pedia. Actually, I was expecting you to close the AN thread and lift the restriction yourself, but I guess that you are only following me to start complaining each time I am entrusted with a new position. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 01:11, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm watching you, too, ever since you made an errant comment in an ANI discussion invoving me without having ever interacted with me beforehand. Wikipedia seems to be crawling with young college age people like you with a lot of time on their hands acquiring authorities with respect to which it remains to be seen as to whether they have the wherewithal to use them properly.
So, yes, you are under observation.--Ubikwit (talk) 16:45, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know I am under observation. Even more know that I have such roles. And, I apologize, but I don't remember having ever commented about you. — ΛΧΣ21 16:55, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't remember commenting, perhaps that is indicative of that fact that you did so in an off-the-cuff manner that was inappropriate.
You were only one of several individuals to do that, and as it was my first encounter there, it was a bit shocking.
You should perhaps bear in mind that there are a good number of highly educated people editing here on Wikipedia, many who start editing because they encounter garbage content when looking something up.--Ubikwit (talk) 17:17, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ubikwit, I would consider saying "you're being watched" to be a little over-the-top. Hahc and his crew have gravely misunderstood my comment, however, the nature and content of their responses are probably a good indicator of their personality, attitude, and aptitude. You are right and in your rights to claim you were a bit mistreated some time ago. However, watch from the background and take action only as needed :-) (✉→BWilkins←✎) 17:28, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As simply an interested observer, you all need to chill out a bit and get on with what we're here to do, that's maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of this encyclopedia. This isn't Facebook or Twitter, I don't understand, at all, the vitriol displayed to a user who has volunteered to help in one of the most unglamorous sections of Wikipedia. Can we just get move along now please? The Rambling Man (talk) 17:31, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FLC updating the talk page

[edit]

Hey Hahc21, congrats on getting the delegate post. I just wanted to let you know that GimmeBot would also do these edits, while updating the talk page. Would you also do that when you update instead of the Bot? —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 06:02, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to do it too. Thanks for the notice, IndianBio. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 16:57, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adding article history when manually closing FLCs

[edit]

Hello, and well done for trying to close the things manually... On Talk:List of Birmingham City F.C. players (25–99 appearances), you added the content of {{Article history}} but didn't actually add the template call. I've done that myself, and filled in the action1oldid parameter, and removed the {{featured list candidates}} template which was still there. Hope that's OK. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. Looks like I did a mistake there. Thank you for solving it for me. Until the bot is up again, I will manually close all the promoted/not promoted FLCs. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 16:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Hahc21. I'm sorry, but I really don't like your Featured Editorial and I will be responding some time soon. My draft is at User:Pyrotec/sandbox, it probably does not say what I want it to say, so it will change, but when it is to my satisfaction it will be posted on the article's "Discuss this story" slot. You are welcome to comment on the draft on the sandbox talkpage before its posted, but I'm not going to let that Featured Editorial article sit there without response from me. Congrats and WV County List FLC

[edit]

Hey there, congrats on your new functions for FLCs....As you might have guessed, I have a FLC which I would greatly appreciate you taking a look at List of counties in West Virginia and let me know what you think. Many thanks for you assistance earlier. Coal town guy (talk) 00:44, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will take a look today. Thanks :) — ΛΧΣ21 00:50, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
MUCH appreciated. This list before edits was....well....ROUGH. I think after an exhaustive review of other FL County Lists, this could be very possible. Support or Comments are welcomed. Coal town guy (talk) 00:53, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Before I do a thorough review, I am seeing that you have several level two headers there. It is not usual on featured lists to have them. Remember that most lists are expected to have a short two-to-three-paragraph lead, like List of counties in Utah, followed by the body. Exceptions exist, of course, like some X-Files series, which include several detailed sections before the main episodes table. I'd recommend to merge all the four level two sections into a single, three-paragraph lead, and work from there. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 01:18, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks, this has been done! Coal town guy (talk) 01:39, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
See? It know looks a bit better. I will do some minor tweaks to the lead and then give you a full review this week. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 01:41, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain what you mean in a bit more detail, especially about recurrent writers, on my talk page please? Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of songs recorded by Cheryl Cole/archive1 is getting quite messy and I'd prefer to have a one on one conversation with you about it instead. Talk Page Font

[edit]

Is there any way I can get the font on my talk page to change to Comic Sans MS. I know that there is the Font template but it doesn't seem to be doing what I want it to do. Do you have any idea?--Dom497 (talk) 20:30, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What you might want to do is to start a table at the top of your talk page like this:
{| style="font-family:PUTFONTHERE; background-color: #FFFFF;"
|-
|
Then, all the page will change to the font you have specified, because you didn't close the table call. — ΛΧΣ21 20:46, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hahc21, I noted you passed an article GA today and it dismays me.

I see several things wrong with the article, especially the capping of Dive Coaster which is not a proper name. Yes I know our article Dive Coaster uses caps, but two wrongs don't make a right. And check out Bolliger & Mabillard, the article about the manufacturer of this gizmo and see that it doesn't use caps either. Check MOS too.

Look, I am fully conversant with WP:SOFIXIT, but that is beside the point. I am really hoping you will do it yourself, and deal to other anomalies in the article as well. And no, I shouldn't have to point them out. Moriori (talk) 00:18, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, this is fatuous. If you have a problem with his GA review conduct a GA reassessment. Rain on his parade? What is he suppose to think highly of himself because he passed a GA which may or may have not met the criteria? As far I am concern, missing a few mistakes such as capitalization should not be a "dismay" to you or anyone else. Correct the mistake yourself. If not, like I stated above, carry out a GA reassessment or you can be quiet and take a seat. Sorry to rain on your parade. Regards. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 01:28, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You totally miss the point. I want him to perceive the overriding problem. The only thing fatuous here is your absurd misinterpretation of my motive. Moriori (talk) 01:53, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, back on topic. This is my first roller coaster (I think?) review in a while, and I may have missed some points, indeed. I will carefully fix those things I may have missed. Regarding the capitalization, I'm not sure I could change it myself. The nom will simply revert me. I will do what I can, although, Moriori, would you mind leaving a message at Dom497's talk page too about your concerns? I'd really appreciate that too. Thank you again. — ΛΧΣ21 02:00, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I never thought I would have someone say that the name of an official B&M model shouldn't have capitals. Dive Coaster is correct...http://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/products/dive-coaster_en.aspx. --Dom497 (talk) 02:41, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again :)

[edit]

I did some snooping on the cvua page, and it mentioned a final exam. Are there any policies in particular you want me to study for this? Thanks for all your help so far by the way. You have been a great help, even despite all my pestering ;) — Rosscoolguy 03:39, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OMG. Well, you discovered me, lol. I will have your final exam ready by tomorrow night. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 03:47, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wow speedy :) . If there is anything else important you have to do, feel free to post the exam later. Do you want me to study username policy, blocking policy or anything else for the exam? — Rosscoolguy 03:55, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, cool you're a graduate yourself :) — Rosscoolguy 03:58, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I graduated almost a year ago :) Study the username and blocking policy. The last test will be heavy on when to block, when not to, as well as other nuances. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 04:02, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at section 9

[edit]

Sorry Hahc that I've been bugging you but since you have a big role with everything related to GA's, can you please comment on my semi-proposal (it is under proposal 1) on approaching a phased complete redo of all WikiProject GA related pages?--Dom497 (talk) 20:41, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will take a look at it today :) And don't worry, I don't mind being bugged. I enjoy knowing that I can be of help to other users. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 20:52, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that SS2 was released on GOG.com I decided to visit the Wikipedia page for old times sake. Imagine my surprise when I saw the bronze star. The game left such an impression on me when I first played it that I wanted to honor it in some way, but I wasn't a good enough writer to make a go of it. Nevertheless I wanted to login and say thank you for completing what I started what seems like many years ago. -- Noj r (talk) 18:28, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! It is awesome to see you! System Shock 2 may be my favourite game of all time, and I decided to take it to FAC for two reasons: To honour the game and to honour your tireless efforts. Without your previous work, the article would not be where it is right now, so all the credit may go to you, and I have to thank you for that :) I would like to see you editing again, we may do amazing collaborations on video games. Well, it was really amazing to see your username on my talk page :') Have a nice day, and I hope you're having a great time in RL. — ΛΧΣ21 18:32, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I greatly appreciate your dedication and the appreciation you've shown. System Shock 2 is such a special game. At times it felt like I was the only one fighting to make that article better. I do think about editing again now and then. School and work have made life pretty busy, but I remember I used to really enjoy working with some of the great members in the community. I might have to poke my head out and edit again in the near future. We'll see. -- Noj r (talk) 18:49, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clerking

[edit]

Hello, I posted the following on User talk:AlexandrDmitri a few days ago but I guess he's temporarily inactive so I thought I'd crosspost here. I've been seeking to get more involved with the backstage side of Wikipedia lately, of late I've been contributing to WP:DRN and offering my thoughts on the occational WP:ANI. Clerking seems like something that I'd be interested in helping out with. I thought I'd drop you a message enquiring about whether you'd take a look at my contributions/experience to let me know if I would be suitable to put my name forward for consideration. Thoughts and criticisms always appreciated. Cheers, Cabe6403 (TalkSign) 20:47, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have left a provisional answer on your talk page. Thank you for showing interest in joining the clerk team of the Arbitration Committee. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 21:13, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TAFI

[edit]

Hello,
In the past few days, Today's Articles for Improvement has gone through many changes.

  • We have modified the process for adding Nominations, which now uses a template/table format and requires only 3 supports for an article to be selected.
  • There is now a Holding Area, where articles are kept for discussion before being selected for a particular date.
  • The TAFI schedule now involves adding 10 articles weekly, chosen from a variety of topics.
  • We now have an Accomplishments page where we will be highlighting our older TAFI articles which have now become quality articles on the Wikipedia.

The Project is almost ready to hit the Main Page, where it will be occupying a section just below "Did you Know" section. Three article from the weekly batch of 7 will be displayed randomly at the main page, the format of which can be seen at the Main Page sandbox. There is also an ongoing discussion at the Main page talk over the final details before we can go forward with the Main Page.

If you have any ideas to discuss with everyone else, please visit the TAFI Talk Page and join in on the ongoing discussions there. You are also invited to add new nominations, and comment and suport on the current ones at the Nominations page. You can also help by helping in the discussions at the Holding Area.

Above all, please do not forget to improve our current Today's Articles for Improvement

Thank you and hoping to have some productive work from you at the Project,

GA May Be In Trouble

[edit]

If WebCite were to disappear, would that have a major impact on Good articles regarding that archived refs would no longer work or Good articles are fine with dead refs?--Dom497 (talk) 18:56, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, they are fine with dead references if the references are well-formatted in a way that they can be easily replaced. SO, the death of WebCite has no major effect on current Good articles, I think.ΛΧΣ21 20:18, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gravity Bone

[edit]

Hey there. I'm sorry I haven't given you any comments. I was planning to last weekend, but I don't have as much time for Wikipedia as I used to, and it looks like you've already gotten enough comments and support for it to pass, so I'm going to have to beg off giving it a review. Good luck with it, though, and I hope we can work together more in the future. —Torchiest talkedits 23:21, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry Torchiest :) I knwo you will surely help me in the future and you already did by reviewing it for GA status. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 19:11, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removed yourself from DR/N

I noticed that you have delisted yourself from the volunteer list for the Dispute resolution Noticeboard. Is there any problem or issue I can assist with to keep you involved?--Amadscientist (talk) 08:52, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I don't want to make a fuzz about it, but I don't know for how longer I'll stay active here. I removed my name because I feel that if I leave it there, the bot may recognize me as a volunteer when I won't be able to do it as I did before. I may jump there each time I can, but I don't want the bot to recognize me as a volunteer when I won't be taking more requests by now. If everything turns well, I will put my name back :) — ΛΧΣ21 13:55, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

List of American football teams in the United Kingdom

[edit]

Hi. I've noticed you've archived the FLC for List of American football teams in the United Kingdom as unsuccessful stating the nomination stalled a month ago. I believe this is incorrect as all the comments were resolved - I actually agreed with Reywas' comment and implemented it immediately. ★ Bald Zebra ★ talk 16:21, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The last logged comment was made 10 days ago by Giants2008, when he marked his comments as resolved. Also, nobody actually opposed the nomination, or if they did they didn't let anyone else know! ★ Bald Zebra ★ talk 16:37, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you saying the nomination was unsuccessful because out of the three people who reviewed it, only one of them isn't a delegate/director? Surely it shouldn't matter who reviews it, just as long as it gets reviewed. ★ Bald Zebra ★ talk 16:51, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see now. Thanks for clarifying that. ★ Bald Zebra ★ talk 16:55, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One quick question - do I have to wait for the bot to close the nomination before renominating it? ★ Bald Zebra ★ talk 09:06, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2013 February newsletter

[edit]

Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.

Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:

  1. Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
  2. London Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
  3. New South Wales Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Alaska Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.

Other contributors of note include:

Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by British Empire The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...

March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!

A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Michelin Guide

[edit]

Thanks for closing the discussion about the Michelin Guide. There is just one minor point I disagree with you and I hope you will reconsider that point. It is a change from examples include the Fortune 500 or the Michelin Guide to examples include the Fortune 500 or starred restaurants in the Michelin Guide. There are far more restaurants included in the Guide. Although it is an honour to be mentioned, I don't dare to say that the "normal" restaurants or Bib Gourmand restaurants have the same level of attention and notability. Hope you can add that to your proposal. The Banner talk 08:10, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! My change was a recommendation. The final wording would be decided by you :) I am fine with whatever wording you choose. — ΛΧΣ21 13:51, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Let's suppose eveything goes as expected: Elections in 30 days, Henrique Capriles Radonski will be elected president, and then we will start to rebuild our country. Most pro-Chavez governors will leave the country, Maduro will go missing and same for Cabello. The rage has started. Reports of policemen shooting students in downtown have arisen, as well as violent manifestations across the country. — ΛΧΣ21 22:23, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! ...stay inside.  — Statυs (talk, contribs) 22:24, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Redactin'

[edit]

Re [1] - I was in the process of redacting my comments almost as soon as I posted them, but encountered an edit conflict with your notice. You're right.

On the other hand, how come obvious WP:BLP violations by Demiurge100 get to stay? Clerk them too or someone else has to do it.Volunteer Marek 03:34, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have also redacted Demi's comments to remove everything that was considered as an unfounded assumption. I am still investigating if anything else needs removing. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 03:36, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Re [2]. Ok. But then I do hope you take care of it. I'm not trying to be obnoxious about it but I do think that BLP violations have an exemption from the usual rules about who gets to remove what and under what circumstances. Hence, if these are BLP violations, and clerks don't remove them, someone else does have the right to remove them. But, sorry, didn't mean to jump in, I'll let you do your job.Volunteer Marek 03:41, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. I have redacted them as I considered fit. My read from Demiurge's findings are pointed to the user who did out Gwickwire on the post, instead of Kevin. — ΛΧΣ21 03:45, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oy, sorry I was getting a bit confused between the Hahc21 handle and the greek letter one. Anyway [3] - but you still left the substance of the BLP violation in there. It implies Kevin is somehow party to outing minors on attack sites or something, which is, to put it politely... "very far from the truth". Please remove those bits as well. Hell, probably a block for BLP violations is in order too.Volunteer Marek 03:47, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, I've had enough of this nonsense for today and I'm going to sleep. But Demiurge10's BLP vios are still there. Please remove them.Volunteer Marek 05:30, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will go to bed too. I am not able to redact anymore today, and it should be left to the arbs from now on. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 05:32, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
