Billboard Brasil

[edit]

Where are you obtaining physical copies of Billboard Brasil to use as a reference? I haven't found a way to get a foreign subscription.—Kww(talk) 15:01, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The magazine is only available via physical copy for brazilianz in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Brasilia and some other cities as Recife. it is not available for foreign subscription as i've been informed. Shall we delete all the positions until we find a solution to this? Another topic: The Albumchart and Singlechart categories have been proposed for deletion, the category's entry is here, so please check it out and comment, if you can. Thanks Kww. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 16:45, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded there. How did you make this edit if you haven't got access to the magazines?—Kww(talk) 16:53, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Someone deleted those charts without a proper rationale for it. If somebody wrote them a long time ago it was because they exist. If he gave a proper rationale for it, then i wouldn't reverted his edit. We cannot remove info that way unless it is obvious the content is false or misleading, i think. However, i ask you, as i cannot take actions by myself alone, about what we must do with the Billboard Brasil charts, since they do not appear on the Bazilian Billboard's website. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 16:56, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A reference to the physical magazine meets WP:V. There's no requirement that sources be verifiable online. I don't like it, but I can't see a way to remove the chart based on existing policies.—Kww(talk) 17:01, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Me neither, so that's why I restored the charts on "Roumor Has It". Of course, the positions can be fixed since they're not verifiable online, and that's my concern. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:03, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Billboard research

[edit]

Can you get me some detail on the Roy Clark version of "Here We Go Again" that he charted in 1982 on the Hot Country Songs chart. I think it peaked at 65, but when did it enter and how long was it on the chart? Was it on any other charts?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:27, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here, what i found:
  • In 1982, Bobby Bland charted on the Hot Country Songs with a song called "Here We Go Again". Also, Billboard lacks the traklist for Turned Loose, so, for them, Clark's version never existed: [1]
  • The Billboard Db about bland is down, so i checked on my alt source and found this:
  • Some info about Clark's cover: [5]
At Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song)/archive3, I have been asked to document uses of the song in things like movies, tv shows and commercials. Do you know a source for researching these types of uses of a song.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:42, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is very difficult to find such information unless the song itself was a big part for both the movie or the accompanying soundtrack with it. Otherwise it'll be hard to find on which films it has been used, since they could be only one to 100s. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 03:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"one to 100s"?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:10, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What i mean is that a single song can be featured on 1 film, or 100. Even in many languages other than english, so it quite a work to track them. The first we could do is to write on Google "fimls using X song" and maybe we could have a lead. I've done it in the past to locate two songs played on Tron: Legacy that wasn't on the soundtrack (they were, effectively, "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics and other i don't remember), and i spent 30 minutes (searching on a single film). --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 06:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Hi! I have seen that you have started to revert vandalism and issue warnings. Please keep this up and tell me when you have read WP: BLOCK and WP: GAIV. Thanks! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:46, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Can you be more specific?—Ketil Trout (<><!) 04:28, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why you changed that redirect? It is obvious that anyone typing that would be searching for the game. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 04:29, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the inbound links that I disambiguated, it doesn't appear obvious. We may disagree about the target of God Of War, but calling it vandalism seems a little disingenuous. Why does it redirect to a different page than God of War? That capital O can't be that important. That said, I don't really care. I've given it more thought than it deserves. Happy editing.—Ketil Trout (<><!) 05:00, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, maybe i exaggerated a little. I've seen the DAP and it works fine. I apology. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 23:57, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GA stick question

[edit]

Hi Hahc21! This may seem like a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway ^^ : how do people get the GA stick that says "This user helped promote the article X to good article status" on their user page? I mean is it only attributed to people that nominated the article or can it also be given to people that made many significant contributions to the article prior its nomination? --Sofffie7 (talk) 14:00, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Both can have it. If you nominated the article or made significant contributions on it prior or during the nomination process, you can proudly add to your userpage the GA stick =). --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 16:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks for your reply :) --Sofffie7 (talk) 17:51, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Close PR before FLC

[edit]

Please make sure Wikipedia:Peer review/Independiente (Ricardo Arjona album)/archive1‎ is closed before you nominate it at FLC (per the FLC instructions). The Rambling Man (talk) 17:58, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't nominated that article for FLC. I nominated Ricardo Arjona discography, which is different. Is there any issue? --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:59, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Entirely my mistake! Having just PR'd the album I was in error. My apologies. (I was also watching Murray vs Ferrer in the tennis so forgive my stupidity!). The Rambling Man (talk) 18:02, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry! =) hey could you take a look at Ricardo Arjona discography and tell me if it needs something to be done? I'd really appreciate your help --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 18:04, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely will look at the discography. Maybe not tonight but in the next day or two. It would be my pleasure. Sorry again for the confusion! The Rambling Man (talk) 18:09, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! and don't worry --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 18:10, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ricardo Arjona discography

[edit]

I've asked Michael Jester to assist you with the Ricardo Arjona discography page and he is willing to do so. He really knows on how to do a discography page well. Since Latin America doesn't have many charts, this will be beneficial here. Erick (talk) 19:52, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP: GAIV and WP: BLOCK

[edit]

Hi! I have seen that you are doing excellent reverting vandalism with Twinkle, so keep it up! I'm sorry, but I have a final tomorrow, plus I will be having my RFA sometime in August or September and I am having an Administrator helping me out with it. I will try to write the questions as soon as possible. Thank you! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 00:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mmm Alright. I'm preparing myself but for 2013 i think. I'm not ready yet for being an admin. There's some policies i do not completely domain and i feel better right now as a common user =). Also, i think a need to go trhough some FACs, FLCs, and other processess like those before jumping into the RFA. Advise me when your RFA starts =). --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 02:08, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, since you'll be busy for a while, what about if i ask again for the Rb feature and, if granted, we continue the lessons? I want to know as much as possible about Vandalism-related topics. --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 02:10, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Auto Patrolled Given

[edit]

Hi Hahc21, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Mifter (talk) 00:35, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

Hi! Congrats on getting Autopatrolled! If you have at least 50 vandalism reverts then apply. If not, wait until you get 50. Be sure to word your request by telling the sysop that you can differenciate between good faith edits and vandalism. This is the most important part of your request. Thank you! DYK nomination for 5to Piso

[edit]

Bummer--my first attempt at a review, and I can't let it pass. As far as I can figure it, the article, whose inception dates back to 2008, hasn't been expanded fivefold within the past few days as required.

As noted, this is my first attempt at review; I'm undertaking it, reluctantly, because of the new (to me, anyhow) requirement that those who submit DYK nominations for their own articles must also review others' submissions. You might want to get a second opinion from someone more experienced. Very sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Drhoehl (talk) 02:41, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At Drhoehl: The requirement to review another DYK is for those who have at least five DYKs. Newcomers are not required to do a DYK review. Erick (talk) 02:48, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Watch when I'm gone?

[edit]

Hey Hahc21! Since I won't be here next week, could you watch over the task force? It's simple updating like the Billboard charts at the portal and archiving the Colombian, Mexican, and Venezuelan charts. Can you do that for me? Erick (talk) 17:36, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It'll be a pleasure =) I hope you enjoy your trip man :) --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:38, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'm just using today to wrap everything up before I go. Erick (talk) 17:43, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for rollback

[edit]

Hi Hahc21. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! v/r - TP 02:20, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

STiki

[edit]

Congratulaions on getting Rollback! TParis also the one who gave me rollback, and is helping me with my RFA. In terms of STiki, I have the same problem 1 of the computers in my house. Not every computer has the software to download it. If you have another computer, I would try downloading it on the other. If not, I would ask DBig XRay for help. Regards! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 11:07, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok! I'll be asking them, since my PC is next-gen and i have Java 7 and all that is needed to run the program. --—Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:20, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Count

[edit]

Wow! I see that you have over 7K edits! How do you accumulate so many? I think that you should have your RFA soon, not wait for next year! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 17:55, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I always work on something. I use my sandbox to prepare articles to FA of GA or work on them on the main namespace. And, since i have time now and can spend 3 to 4 hours daily to WP, i can make a lot of edits in 1 day (ussualy between 100-250). Maybe, i don't know; i'll wait until i'm more confident and familiar with all Wikipedia policies before going to RFA, but thanks =). Don't forget to advise me when your RFA begins. Cheers! --—Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 18:22, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and i also participate in debates (mainly on GA), Request for Comment and things like that =).--—Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 18:26, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will let you know when my RFA is. I mainly do CSD/XFD's and anti-vandalism work. I also contribute to articles about airports and EMS. I am also thinking about joining the copyediting staff for the SignPost. I am currently in school, so my hours are limited, but in a week and a half, I will be done and have much more time to edit. Rej3ctz Wikipedia Entry

[edit]

Hello,

I am on the management team for the Rej3ctz, the creators of the "Cat Daddy". We were wondering if you would be willing to create a Wikipedia Entry for the Rej3ctz since you did such a wonderful job with the "Cat Daddy" entry. We would be able to provide you with sources, a bio as framework, and any other assistance needed. We just can't do it ourselves since we have a material interest in the group. If you have any questions you can email me at chris@jrhentertainment.com. Thanks for your consideration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.79.190.184 (talk) 19:36, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the text was unreferenced: "By using two sets of blocks in this fashion, great mechanical advantage is gained, enabling the use of relatively small drilling line (3/4 to 1 1/2 in. diameter steel cable) to hoist loads many times heavier than the cable could support as a single strand." is an affirmation, and must have a proper reference covering the matter. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:49, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mmmm. Why not? But you need to take your lessons on Content, XfD's, GA and FA first >.< . What is a regent? o.0 (Sorry there's some words I do not recognize yet) =( —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 15:53, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! A Regent is a standardized test that is given by New York State to assess if you meet their educational standards. You need to take them to get a high school diploma in New York. For more information, see Regents Examinations. I will learn about creation next week, hopefully. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 18:58, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, is Harold Hidalgo your name? It says so on your userpage. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 19:22, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. That's my real name. I'm a science-fiction writer and musician =). Hiding my name is useless, since you can find me on Google. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 19:50, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I also sort of know IZAK (talk · contribs), but he doesn't know who I am on Wikipedia. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 19:57, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe. And, did you took your regent? —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 19:59, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(stalk page talker...) Both of you could have a look at the bottom of Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/The Determinator concerning things that help at RfA (and look at the rest of it as an example of 'not quite ready' too. Both feel free to ask me questions - and I'll refer you to someone who knows the answers... Peridon (talk) 20:15, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha thanks! i've read those pages about 3 times just for curiosity. Also, when Fish2 told me will go to RfA, i checked about 15 past RfAs to see what the process was like. Considering 'not quite ready', i doesn't have yet the necessary amount of active months to go to RfA, plus i don't really want to to there yet. Thanks for the comment =). —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 20:18, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Party in the U.S.A

[edit]

According to this tidbit from one of my as-yet unidentified edit summaries (translated from Spanish):

"Party in the U.S.A." has sold 4.506 million copies in the U.S., 0.32 million in Canada, 0.14 million in Australia, and 0.015 in New Zealand. The total sum is 4.98, which was rounded to 5.00 to account for sales in other countries.

Given that the above is supported by the song's certifications and this link, I was wondering where you got the 5.56 million you added to the worldwide singles list.

If you don't object, I'd like to change that to the 5 million it "really" is.--Mauri96 (talk) 00:37, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let me check it again. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 00:39, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, seems like i got trolled. The article said 5x Platinum for the US. Now, look at this: [6] from Billboard. it says PITUSA has 4.9 million. That's where i got the numbers. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 00:43, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Done– I fixed the sales and references on the song's entry.--Mauri96 (talk) 00:57, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lots to talk about

[edit]

I'm back! Missed me? :P Anyways, there some stuff I'd talk about it. I'm kind of tired (I just got back today) so I'll start with the big stuff. First, let's start off with the charts. Let's begin with Chile. Before I saw your FLC nomination of Ricardo Arjonay discography, I thought of looking for the provider of the charts (APF), which I am doing right now. I want to know who they are, how they compile their albums, and if they're still (hopefully) operating to this day. The other is the Dominican Republic. You might have saw on the Monitor Latino article that they started publishing singles for the Dominican Republic, but only subscribers can only view it which is a shame, but I do hope they post it at RadioNotas sometime. Anyways, besides that, there's the task force itself. It's been two years since I started it, but the guidelines on it are just basic guidelines. I've added some proposed guidelines on the talk page for the task force talk page. That covers it for now, but I'll some more talk about later. EDIT: Oh and, congrats on getting your first DYK! Erick (talk) 23:29, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Mmmm Yeah, I saw Monitor Latino's DR stats. About Chile, let me take a look to see what i find. Sorry if i reply a little late. I'm tired =). —Hahc21 15:41, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think of the inclusion scope I just added for the task force? Any suggestions? Erick (talk) 01:08, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
English songs with a remix on which a spanish language artist is featured? I think it may be the only one you've left behind. —Hahc21 01:21, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You mean like a remix with a Spanish-language performing in Spanish? I don't know about that, I mean it wouldn't seem right to include articles like When I Look at You and Hate That I Love You because the Spanglish version is not really covered nor did it chart. If it did chart, I might put it, but I'm really cautious about tagging the task force on song articles not really targeted towards the Hispanophone audience. I really need your opinion on artists who are not from Latin America on whether we should include them or not. For example Irreplaceable by Beyoncé had a Spanish version that charted on the Hot Latin Songs chart, but I don't know about it including it there. Beautiful Liar also has a Spanish version, but it features Shakira so I'm fine with that and it's included. How about artists that performs in Spanish but not from a Latin America country? Like Laura Pausini, Tiziano Ferro, and Il Volo? Pausini records an album in Italian and makes a Spanish-language version of it, Ferro performs some of his original songs in Spanish (he even had a #1 Latin Song single), and Volo's eponymous album had a Spanish edition album and they received a Latin Grammy nonimation for Best New Artist. And what about singers from Spain? I know it may seem to strange to ask, but technically Spain isn't part of Latin America, but you have singers like Alejandro Sanz and Enrique Iglesias who perform Latin pop songs, so I think those are fine, but I'm not sure about the rest. Erick (talk) 01:48, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think Irreplaceable should be tagged. Beyoncé is an artist commited to latin music. He sang a spanish version of "If I Were a Boy" and "Listen". When I Look at You and Hate That I Love You are mere coincidences targeted mostly to Spain. Laura Pausini, Tiziano Ferro needs to be included. Pausini and Ferro are well-known successful artists on Latin america and they're part of this culture. Il Volo may be too new yet to be considered inside that scope. I think that the deffinition of Latin music is "All music styles performed in languages derived from Latin." It doesn't stablish limits of countries. Many people make the mistake as to think that latin music needs to be performed by a Latin american act to be considered as that, but that's not true. —Hahc21 02:00, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's a valid point and I really agree your definition of Latin music. Psst, btw, I think you meant to say "She sang. :P. Erick (talk) 02:20, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, yeah, My keyborad ommited the "s" >.<. BTW, what about your vacations? —Hahc21 02:26, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It was okay. Already been to Cozumel, so it was new nothing to me. Belize is a terrible place. Roatan Island was beautiful and the people were really nice. Costa de Maya was the exact opposite of Roatan Island. What really made me mad was the price to see the Mayan ruins: $81 per person and there's my mom and bro so I didn't get to go and the town was nothing special. Erick (talk) 02:45, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mmmm ok XD. While you were out, I watched Jennifer Lopez live on concert XD. Also, i'm thinking about visiting Singapur or Hong Kong next year. I really love those cities. —Hahc21 02:49, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I saw J-Lo in concert once doing her tour with Marc Anthony in 2007. I actually thought those cities myself, but my mom doesn't want to go to those places so I want to go there myself. I also have been wanting to visit the rest of Latin America. Erick (talk) 02:57, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you come to my country, notice me and i'll give you the tour (: —Hahc21 02:59, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, well I was a little bit hesitant to ask, but how's Venezuela like? Erick (talk) 03:05, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much like US, but a little dirtier. Here you can find anything you want. Sadly, on recent years, the big cities have become "very" dangerous, but if you come here as a tourist, you'll fall in love with all the natural wonders and paradisiac places to visit. But, on top of all, being careful is recommended. —Hahc21 03:10, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, I've read about the homicide rates on WikiTravel, so it's always safer to travel with someone you know. It's a shame how violent Latin American countries have gotten over the years. Even my homeland Puerto Rico has gotten real bad. Erick (talk) 03:16, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah ): It's a shame what such a beautiful part of the world is becoming. Drug-trafficking, homicides, stealing, weaponry-smuggling and so on. I love my country, but sometimes you feel endangering 24/7. —Hahc21 03:27, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. Erick (talk) 03:30, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While the CAPIF itself may be down from the Anonymous hacking, Here is a mirror site that allows you to still see the album charts. Nothing on the certifications yet. Erick (talk) 13:38, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

O.O OMG thanks man! —Hahc21 14:27, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
i used that site to add Argentina to the {{albumchart}} template. Thanks. —Hahc21 22:07, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Which one chart do you use? The monthly or the weekly? Erick (talk) 22:17, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The weekly, although i designed a method (called manual referencing) so you can use the monthly or the annual of you wish. —Hahc21 22:32, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's great! I'll be sure to use on an article I'm working on my sandbox. Erick (talk) 22:38, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While on the subject on Argentina, I decided to see if a singles chart for Argentina and I found two sources that talks about a song reaching #1 in Argentina: Here and here. I just need to find the name of chart that's providing these positions and it's methodology. Google news archive has been really helpful on finding these charts. Erick (talk) 01:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what I find. As of now, i was checking {{albumchart}} (which i mantain) and it only contains (now) two Latin charts: Argentina and Mexico . I wish there were more. Oh, and a curious date: We have more latin singles charts than albums charts. —Hahc21 01:39, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You forgot Brazil. :P Oh and talk about a two in one: This article mentions a song being #1 in Argentina and Chile. I get these searches by typing in Spanish words with quotations like "uno en <insert country here>" on Google news archive. I don't know how to say like "reached #1" in Spanish though. Erick (talk) 01:43, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha Brazil! right, i forgot Brazil. For an unknown reason i didn't saw it. :P Usually, we say "canción número uno" in spanish for what in english would be "number-one song". The word "reached" is not used in spanish for songs (with exceptions, of course). —Hahc21 01:49, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Found nothing on Argentina singles chart, but I did find this. It posts a singles chart for the Americas like Chile and Costa Rica. Best part is that it posts the source for these information which I will look into. Maybe it's because I'm a bit drunk (I had a few shots of tequila a while back), but this is fun! And it's a good thing we now know how to make a chart notable. Erick (talk) 01:56, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What about if those articles refer to the Chile Top 100 and the Argentinian Top 100 Singles, both considered bad charts? —Hahc21 02:09, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've also found this website, very rare. And maybe also Los 40 Principales - ArgentinaHahc21 02:13, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Very unlikely. Both of those charts were never referenced by the news media and they had dubious methodology. Also Los 40 Principales is a single network site (like a single radio station) and cannot be used which is why it's on BADCHARTS. Rather, I think the charts posted from different companies that we have never heard of before. That's how I found about National-Report for Colombia. Take Chile for example, this article shows different charts for Latin America is shows the name of the source (Revista TV Grama is listed as the source) that it gets it from. Now look at the #1 single for each chart and search for it on the news archive. Type LLamda de emergencia Daddy Yankee Chile on Google news archive and I got sources going on how it reached #1 in Chile. I think I might I have just hit the jackpot here! =D Erick (talk) 02:14, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've found TV Grama's website: http://www.tvgrama.cl/v2/. I'll search through to see what i find. —Hahc21 02:18, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, nothing. . —Hahc21 02:21, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, well I'm using the Google search itself within the site. If not, I will the search option to see if anything pops up. There's gotta be something. Erick (talk) 02:27, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the list again there are already charts we can't use. El Salvador and Costa Rica are already out of the picture because of single network, we already have Colombia and Mexico, the Argentina charts are for albums. The only possibilities are Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Even then, it's unknown if those sources are also a single network. =\ Erick (talk) 02:48, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah :/ Latin countries have the bad habit of using single network data. I think Chile is the only one left to be included. —Hahc21 02:51, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, all single network charts, either using a radio station or Los 40 Principales. Well that was a waste of time. =\ But I'm a persistent so I'll keeping looking. Erick (talk) 03:04, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you saw in the Independiente talk page, but I commented that I think the article is good enough for GAN now since TRM covered everything in the article. You're allowed to close the PR at anytime (I think). Erick (talk) 16:21, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I closed the PR and nominated the article .—Hahc21 13:26, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure it'll do fine. ;) Anyways there's I want you to look at in my sandbox. I'm proposing a guideline at WP:CHARTS with a section called "Acceptable charts" and the shortcut being "WP:OKAYCHARTS". I will present the idea to the talk page once the sandbox is done. Feel free to make any edits to it. Erick (talk) 15:58, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My First Article

[edit]

What do you think about my first article, Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island? My high school already has its own article, so I created an article about my elementary school. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 20:20, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not bad, but you still have some things to learn. Well, i think some tags are unnecessary, but there are three steps to write an article on Wikipedia:
  1. Find a topic without an article;
  2. Find reliable sources unrelated to the topic;
  3. Follow the guidelines on how to write articles.
Seems like the step No.2 was avoided. And No.3 partially. When you create an article, you have to be sure that the topic is exposed on a neutral way. "The school prides itself on having a low student to teacher ratio." looks like an advertisement, yes, but mainly because you used the word "prides itself", which may qualify as a word to watch, and you didn't added a source for that claim. Read this: WP:CHALLENGE. —Hahc21 20:27, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That was actually what it says in the "about" page on ykli.org, but no a direct quote, for copyright reasons. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:03, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but usually those claims are only well supported if you provide a third-party source. First-party sources usually lack a neutral point of view because they want to make people know or believe they are the best. —Hahc21 21:36, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Doing... I'm adding sources from local papers. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 22:59, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. —Hahc21 23:02, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm also copyediting pages that are backlogged for needing copyediting. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:10, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's a very good way to learn the content creation process. Since i'm not native in English and by unknown reasons my writing seems to get awful sometimes, i don't make copyedits to articles. Anyway, its a good idea of yours to copyedit articles. On another topic; i'm not receiving too much feedback from y editor review. I've only identified one problem of mine: I have some conflicts with the Deletion policy. —Hahc21 23:14, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mine hasn't been so productive either. I got concerns about my first AFD (which I have corrected), and a complement because I removed a spam link. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:18, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I've lowered my automated edits % down to about 60%. Also, even for reviewing AFC's, I use an automated script, which doesn't help the numbers. When I was approved for AWB this morning, the reviewing admin suggested that I lower my automated edits percent. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:24, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is recommended. In the last few days, my automated edits percentage went from 16% to 18% and i'm alarmed. I consider that less than 20% is desirable. HAve you added the sources already? —Hahc21 23:40, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to lower it down to about 50-40%. I do more anti-vandalism work than you, so I need the automated tools. I've added some sources, but I'm not done yet. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:59, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you make a lot more anti-V than me. Hehe. I'm commited to content creation and some maintenance duties. I mostly use the automated tools to correct grammatical errors with AWB or to make changes on a highly visible template. —Hahc21 00:04, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GA Drive

[edit]

What are the checkmarks for? Statυs (talk) 02:20, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The checkmark means that a reviewer verified the article you reviewed for quality purposes. Also, it means that it was checked to see if it meets the eligibility period, to verify it wasn't a quick-fail, passed /failed to make a point, etc. —Hahc21 02:22, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, alright. I was wondering why some of them had them and some did not. Can anyone in the drive verify? Statυs (talk) 02:23, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is said right on the page. I am not very smart today. Statυs (talk) 02:25, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are you editing under the influence? Haha, we're three: Pyrotec, Wizarman and me verifying the articles. —Hahc21 02:29, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and be careful on Talk:Eight Miles High/GA1, check my comment on the references section (the first one) about the Lead. —Hahc21 02:30, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is something up with me today. Not literally under the influence of anything (of course), I've just been having a mixed up today. Wait, I just realized, I only got four hours of sleep last night... Yeah, that could be the problem. I am so embarrassed. Statυs (talk) 02:35, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think you could give me some feedback on my reviews? I was looking at others, and mine aren't really in the best form. Statυs (talk) 02:36, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pleasure to help you. Remember that the GA criteria is very slight and almost any article can reach GA status. I understand sometimes we get into some kind of internal battle with ourselves about the GA process, i live it with The Great Otis Redding Sings Soul Ballads and because of that, my review lasted for an astonishing 45 days. I've yet to watch one of your reviews thoroughly to make constructive comments. Let me check 2 or 3 of your reviews and then i give you my feedback. And, by the way, I just needed to say this but I'm still dumbed my J.Lo's concert :S. I feels weird. It was my first concert ever and I love her and and and..... (lost connection) haha XD Now I can rest in peace >.<. I really hope you can be able to go to her concert. —Hahc21 02:42, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, yeah; I know exactly what you mean. Haha, aww your first concert! What a great feat to go to then! My first concert was when seeing the winner and runner-up of Canadian Idol in 2005; both of which have done nothing since and are nobodies now. I really I could be able to go as well. Statυs (talk) 02:48, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think I focus too much on how I organize articles and how I put things. Statυs (talk) 02:53, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe. It happened to me. Then i learned. How? I did this: I took Wikipedia:What the Good article criteria are not and Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles, printed both and went to my bed. I read them about 10 times far from the PC and thought about the for about two weeks in which i didn't reviewed a single article. Then, i started watching articles and philosophically comparing them to nature. Not all trees are exactly the same, yet they are perfect. That's the way I understood the criteria; and it changed the way I looked ad the process. —Hahc21 03:00, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good idea. I believe my second attempt at "Eight Miles High" has gotten rid of the "it should be this way, the way I do" (so far). Statυs (talk) 03:07, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. . I've checked and everything is going allright on that review by now. —Hahc21 15:41, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A beer for you!

[edit]
Sorry for the harsh comment at GAN which I immediately removed. You are doing a great work on GAN and my comment was not intended to be literally, but rather totally different things caused this remark. Also thanks for your review of Sings Soul Ballads; I am sometimes very impatient so I also apologize for this. Regards. GoPTCN 11:27, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! Don't worry and thanks! Hahc21 13:31, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, per your request, I have added a bunch of comments at the FLC. Will you be addressing them soon? The Rambling Man (talk) 16:39, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'll address them this week. Thanks! —Hahc21 00:38, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did it on 'Em

[edit]

Do you know how much work is required until the song is passed? I'm just asking because I don't want to start work on getting other songs to GA without first having that one completed LOL.--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 21:10, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I hope to get it ready this week. Maybe tomorrow night or wednesday afternoon, since i'm still in college. —Hahc21 00:39, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! I didn't saw this message! Let's start. We'll go slow on the coaching until July 5, because i'm still on college. No.1: Content creation. You and I will create an article together. So please chose a topic without an article on WP and we'll develop the article about it. . —Hahc21 21:06, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2012 Caspian Cup

[edit]

If you have a chance, would you please revisit your listing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2012 Caspian Cup and add an additional comment. It's getting long in the tooth (it's on User:Snotbot/AfD's requiring attention) and, with enought input, a closer can determine a consensus. Thanks! -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 15:28, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Drama Queen

[edit]

Heyy, I fixed everything you said on Drama Queen, I'm going to go ahead and nominate it, Thanks -- DivaKnockouts (talk) 16:18, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good! Notice me when you nominate it. Regards! —Hahc21 14:25, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Poquita Ropa

[edit]

The article Poquita Ropa you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Poquita Ropa for things which need to be addressed. Jonayo! Can you believe it? There's only 16 GA song nominations left. There were over 40 before the drive. Statυs (talk) 03:55, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Haha amazing! Well, i took care of 11 of those 40. Now i'm working on The X-Files episodes. My count is at 12 on the drive ^^ and i'm aiming to 25. i'd like to be the No.1 haha Hahc21 03:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, yeah, I'd say so. Great job! I'd be lying if I told you I was focusing on music articles so there will be little/none left when I go to nominate my J.Lo articles. ;) Statυs (talk) 04:07, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha XD When that happens, give me a shot so you don't have to wait for the next drive to get them reviewed. Lol. —Hahc21 04:18, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha; I'll be putting them up for nomination sometime this week. Probably Friday. Statυs (talk) 04:48, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What's my first assignment? Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:15, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Assignment #1

[edit]
  1. Find a topic of your interest lacking an article on Wikipedia.
  2. Find some sources covering the topic you selected and post them here, alongside with the topic, of course.
I'll be waiting .
I can't find a topic lacking an article here. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:26, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing you may like without an article? Well, let me see if I can find one for you Hahc21 21:29, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that would be much appreciated. My interests are EMS, law enforcement, and airports. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:30, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, i found some lists of Airports by country. For example, List of airports in Spain have some airbases without articles. List of airports in Portugal has some public airports without articles. List of airports in Argentina has some more airports as well. You can pick one or search through those lists and find one airport on a country you may like. —Hahc21 21:42, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please give me some airports in the United States? Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:47, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think all airports in the U.S. have articles. Well, i found some on List of airports in North Dakota. —Hahc21 21:50, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How about an article about manual defibrillators? There is an article on AED's, but there is only a section in the article about defibrillators that talks about manual defibs, and there is a lot to write about them. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 22:50, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good!. Now that you got the topic, the next step is finding sources. Find sources on the internet (or books, Google Books may work either) and post them here to start working. —Hahc21 22:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What "type" of sources do you want? Places that sell them, how to use them, or about them.

Thank you, Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:09, 20 June 2012 (UTC).[reply]

We need sources that documents how to use them, how they are manufactured, which types of defibs exists, the history of the defibs, and stuff like that. —Hahc21 23:11, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ClockC Working on it.... Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:19, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok : We'll use this sandbox: User:Hahc21/sandbox/Sandbox3 to write the draft of the article. —Hahc21 23:30, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Should I list the URLs of my sources on the sandbox? Electriccatfish2 (talk) 17:09, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I added some external sources. I also triggered a spam filter because ehow.com is backlisted. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 16:51, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeas. Sorry for the late answer. Too many messages on my TP i overlooked some of them. Well, yes:; the first step is to add the sources to the sandbox, and then, writing the information that is useful from that source. —Hahc21 21:01, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
