September 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hi Guyrichtheman! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Edit War

[edit]

I want to make it quite clear that your repeated vandalism and attempts to have things your way is quite frustrating. I've told you numerous times to stop, yet you refuse to listen. My edit to the HQ9 page are to make things easier for mobile page readers to find images, especially when pages don't do a good job of documenting images outside of Wikimedia (and fail to link to Wikimedia the subject in question). You don't get to inconvenience a group of readers in favor of PC/desktop readers. That's very inconsiderate. So please, do cease this nonsense. Antares600 (talk) 05:50, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ask the adminstrator which revision is the best option for the HQ9 article, your edits or my edits. Case closed. Guyrichtheman (talk) 13:15, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Nihonogo template and Raiden Shogun

[edit]

While I understand the concept, I feel using both the Chinese language template and the Nihongo template result in throwing too much information at the reader, and due to Genshin Impact originating from China, that's sufficient for the purposes the templates exist for to help the reader find more information in the country of origin's native language. Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:35, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your question about the Mortal Kombat characters (and I'm sorry for the late reply I've been busy), that's the work of User:Niemti, who had a terrible habit of putting overkill information into articles of his interest. The purpose of the Nihongo templates and similar is to cover the character's name in the language of their game's release, not based on their country of origin as a fictional character.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:35, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, use the native name for the game's release instead of the origin of the character (even with native names from both game and characters) is okay, right? That idea is so terrible. Guyrichtheman (talk) 14:53, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's a reason it's done. Genshin Impact is a Chinese game in this case. The opinions on the character will have more weight from their country of origin. So being able to google that helps find reactions from the horse's mouth as it were. I often use the text from nihongo templates to crawl through say Famitsu or developer twitter accounts for bits of information I can use to flesh out an article.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:04, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't understand why though. Guyrichtheman (talk) 15:11, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Take Sophitia Alexandra. On English wikipedia, nothing would be gained from knowing what her name is in the greek alphabet. No additional sources can be gleamed with that information either. It becomes cruft.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:19, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Still don't get it why. Guyrichtheman (talk) 15:40, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Argentina logo for women's team

[edit]

Hi, Guyrichtheman; I read the post you left me (and then erased) on my talk page and that's true, the women's team have not won any World Cup. That´s why I cited the source (news site Todo Noticias, where the 3 stars are shown on the women's uniform also) on the edit summary.

Unless the stars are removed from the women's uniforms, I would leave the badge at the team article for now. Do you think the same? Fma12 (talk) 01:58, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it is unconfirmed that they will wear either golden logo or just normal logo on it. Guyrichtheman (talk) 04:04, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a matter of fact, the under-20 team played with the 3 stars logo. And they have won six world championships. So I suppose the logo will remain for all the teams, but everything may change. Fma12 (talk) 08:50, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is shown that all of the Argentina football teams (except the men's senior) have wore the crest without stars, for example: The women's under-20 football team, see here. Guyrichtheman (talk) 07:48, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

August 2024

Information icon Hello, your recent edits to Julián Álvarez have been reverted because you failed to provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thanks, Vasil3fonov (talk) 12:09, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
