User talk:Rattleurhead
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. -- 23:54, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Savanna High School (Oklahoma)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Savanna High School (Oklahoma), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Rjd0060 02:29, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]I'm going to urge you to change your username as it consists of random characters. Normally I would block a name like yours right away, but I saw what you wrote on User:SarekOfVulcan's talk page. -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 02:36, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- I like the new username you've requested - distinctive! Good luck, and welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions. Cheers! -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 03:12, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
How to start a new article
[edit]Well, the best way is to read up on what people expect articles to be like. After that, you can either request that a particular article be created, or just go ahead and create it yourself. Here's a welcome and some good tips:
Welcome to Wikipedia!
[edit]Dear Gjsrdh gpjkasf: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:
Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.
One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!
Any more questions, just let me know!--SarekOfVulcan 03:29, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Why I keep reverting your band list
[edit]Basically, you haven't asserted that there's any reason for them to be in Wikipedia. Check out WP:BAND to see what it takes to get an article for a band: if they don't meet that, you should think twice about including them in another article. Also, you don't provide any proof that they actually exist, besides your own word. I've fought my way through a couple of deletion debates where I knew that many people would consider the subjects of the articles notable, but I couldn't provide what the Wikipedia community has decided are reliable sources. A link to your local newspaper listing them would be sufficient: actually, even just listing the newspaper, date, and page would be sufficient, but if you make it too difficult to verify your content, people might decide it's not worth having around. Have fun, and good luck!--SarekOfVulcan 03:38, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
