Would you mind checking out the new "musical structure" section? I don't think it's very good; I just finished writing it using Alan W. Pollack's guide. Cheers, Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 19:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it's too technical. Look at Smells Like Teen Spirit#Composition; if you do really think it's technical, then could you offer some suggestions on how to change it? There's not enough in the section anyway, I only used one source. I'll have to get some books. Cheers, Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 14:49, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

The Beatles Newsletter

I think it's a really great idea, but we should talk about (on The Beatles talk page, so people can put some input in) how we can make it more interesting than the usual blah, blah, blah... Nice one. :)--andreasegde (talk) 15:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Good grief Dendodge, you're only 14? I'm totally amazed at what you have accomplished here so far. Pat yourself on the back, and give that Cleethorpes donkey an ice-cream, because he's looking as sick as a... :))--andreasegde (talk) 15:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

BTW, I played Tetris on your homepage today, which I haven't played for ages. It was quite nostalgic. :)--andreasegde (talk) 19:05, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Real/Fake Princess

Hi, I saw you made changes to Real/Fake Princess. I had made an inquiry about handling that situation at the help desk (before you did this), but haven't received any response. So that I can learn, could you please respond to my inquiry there? Thank you. --hamu♥hamu (TALK) 21:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Cleethorpes

What are those round things in Image:Cleethorpes seafront.jpg? Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 21:14, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I thought they might be something like that. When I was a kid we just used to wander out to where the water was, if the tide was in we just swam where we liked. Don't think I ever drowned though. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 14:25, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

FUCK OFF LIMBO SUCKS

Regarding your tag of deletion for "Hebra's nose"

Hi, thanks, I am only an occasional contributor to Wikipedia, and am still learning the language. I recreated the page to "Hebra nose" but after doing this, I realize it would probably be better as a redirect to "Rhinoscleroma." Please feel free to do this if you think it better follows Wiki format. I know it sounds silly, but "Hebra nose" is a bona fide description of second stage rhinoscleroma. ............with kind regards, m. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cabinet of Art and Medicine (talkcontribs) 00:05, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:04, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Happy Beatles Day!

Happy Beatles Day! Just a message from the Beatles WikiProject! Have a great day, Dendodge/Archives/2008/July!

I'm so sad, I send myself messages...... Densock .. Talk(Dendodge on a public network) 11:42, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Happy Beatles to you too my fellow fan. By the way your on my Qui ((WP:QUI))list of friends.--Ezekiel 7:19 †alk 15:37, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

THANK YOU! You have no idea how welcome that notice was - being knee-deep in contention over articles related to the US election, I think I'll be giving more time to the always-peaceful Beatles articles.... if you don't consider the great "the/The" debates... Cheers all! Tvoz/talk 19:49, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Romeo and Juliet collaboration

Greetings! The current Shakespeare Project Collaboration is Romeo and Juliet. This project is currently going a thorough peer review and copyedit before moving on to FAC. The link to the peer review is Wikipedia:Peer review/Romeo and Juliet/archive1. Have a look! « Diligent Terrier Bot (talk) 20:45, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

The Beatles infobox.

See the discussion at [[1]] which indicates that if a group lineup was stable during the years the group was famous and are universally known by that lineup, then they can be listed in the "current members" section of the band infobox template. Steelbeard1 (talk) 12:37, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Beatles newsletter July 2008

WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter
Issue 013 – July 2008

Beatles News
Project News
  • As you may have seen, the talk page banner changed a bit. It has a couple of bugs (most notably the categorisation problems), but the {{WPBannerMeta}} standardisation was long overdue. Thank you to Dendodge for sorting it.
  • The newsletter's back after a very positive reaction, and thanks are again due to Dendodge.
  • Article adoptions: Heather Mills will be a hot topic next month, as the truth will be referenced.
  • The hottest Project page this month has been The Quarrymen (now a GA). It reveals the most accurate history of their early days, because so many other web pages tell a completely untrue story (one web page said they lost a Carroll Levis competition to a woman who played the spoons :)
Other Project news
Member News
  • New members to the project (since the last issue, which was a long time ago) include a lot of names, which can be found here....
  • Project member news:
Issue of the Month

Apart from the usual vandals, there is an ongoing problem with Wikipedia editors deleting free and fair-use photos because they don't think they are of any value to articles, even though this sometimes leaves articles with no photos at all. These editors do not leave notes on talk pages, so if you see that a photo has vanished, check the talk page and the history log.

From the Editors

It's been a while, but the newsletter's back! After a short discussion on the project talk page, seemingly unanimous consensus to bring it back was reached. This issue, and subsequent ones, will probably be shorter - as we kept running out of things to say before! There's a lot to say this month, purely due to the long absence of a newsletter, but we'll keep it as brief as possible.

In order to get delivery by Denbot sorted, the special delivery interface has been changed slightly - but existing delivery options still stand. Inactive participants who want delivery should place their names on this list.

If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!

Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 014 – August 2008). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

I read the news today, oh boy...

I like the Newsletter, especially the layout! I am, truthfully, pleased to see it being re-issued but will continue to read it over other peoples shoulders for the time being. Best wishes. LessHeard vanU (talk) 20:02, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Same here - my talk page is always full enough without newsletters. Good luck with it, though - it looks good. Grutness...wha? 00:41, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Newsletter

Send it out. :))--andreasegde (talk) 22:36, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

 Done!...... Densock .. Talk(Dendodge on a public network) 12:08, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
There's a small bug somewhere in that the newsletter has some trailing { and } from a malformed template. When I used to do this I tested on one page to make sure all was ok before sending to the rest... the navstuff at the top/bottom is added after the issue is placed in the archive, not while it's being sent (look at the history of some of the past issues to see what I mean). If this is confusing, LMK and I will try to help clarify. ++Lar: t/c 12:51, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi guys - I was on the list to get just a notification link that tells me a new one is out, but somehow I was also on the list that said deliver the whole newsletter (Andreas, you seem to be too) ... so, is the link thing functioning? I took myself off the full-length subst list but want to be sure I do get the link. Can someone check that it's all ok? Thanks...(hi Lar! didn't know you hang out with the Beatles reprobates too!) Cheerio Tvoz/talk 17:24, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Tvoz, you don't know your wiki-history very well do you?... I was among the very first members of this project, helped write some of the templates used in it, and with Kingboyk, added early versions of the whole importance/class conditional code that is now featured in project templates projectwide... (see the history of {{WPBeatles}}) I also delivered most of the newsletters until just before it went dormant, and much of the newsletter structure, the nav templates, etc is by me. So pfft... OK, that was bragging. :) But I do remember some of it. If it's not working right, though, not my fault! :) ++Lar: t/c 01:04, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Shame on me! Good to see ya, Lar. Tvoz/talk 08:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I was going to do it with AWB, but I had to do it manually at school instead - so didn't have time to sort everything...... Densock .. Talk(Dendodge on a public network) 13:45, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Nationality

It's a good job your "Nationality:English" is in your user space, I spend a lot of time reverting those! = ) I see you are also being coached (at least for the time being) by Malinaccier. WBOSTIG is a credit to Malinaccier's coaching skills (he was Malinacciers coachee!). What do you think of four phase admin coaching? Best, --Cameron* 14:51, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations! To my knowledge, I am fairly certain that you have the only Featured Sandbox! ;-) (If you don't know what I'm talking about [likely], see here. May want to get that taken care of. :-) Cheers, and great job on the newspaper! Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 22:20, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
