DYK update

[edit]

I have approved the DYK review for 2023 Little Rock tornado. Mgrē@sŏn (Talk) 15:22, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your review! Departure– (talk) 15:23, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations, Departure–! The article you nominated, Belvidere Apollo Theatre collapse, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, David Fuchs (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:05, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Writer's Barnstar
Congratulations on your first Featured Article! It went from basically nothing to FA-status in a relatively short timespan, great job! I'm jealous that you got your first FA before I got mine, but you earned it. :) EF5 00:12, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Departure–Maybe try and see if you can get it TFA on 3/31. Wildfireupdateman :) (talk) 03:06, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, they're only accepting April 1 and past. Departure– (talk) 03:16, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Realistically April 1 would include the end of March 31 in CDT, however I think that April 1st TFA will have something to do with April Fools, so I doubt this would run. Wildfireupdateman :) (talk) 03:40, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, I'm really not sure my next steps after this. If Belvidere isn't happening, no way is the Tri-State, especially with the mess of an RM and move review it's got right now. Maybe I'll shoe-horn an FAC for its 101st anniversary.
Otherwise, I think that Little Rock would be the next obvious step, because it was both the first and the objectively most iconic of the March 31 outbreak. I should work on getting some of my drafts out of draftspace too. Anyway, if you or @EF5 is interested in previewing the next episodes of severe weather, take a look at the NIU SCP ensemble graph - the rows are days and each column is a different model run, highlighting the anomaly in the supercell composite parameter. From what I'm seeing, something interesting might just go down on the 7th of February - outside of the SPC's eight days of forecasting, but within my lifetime (hopefully). If it is, I'm going to make an effort to get an article on it made or greatly improved while it's ongoing, like I did with the December 28 outbreak last year. I'm watching models like a hawk too. I'll probably work on rewriting Weather of 2008 in userspace for now. Wildfireupdateman :) (talk) 03:48, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
