License tagging for Image:G070622 01-pic02.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:G070622 01-pic02.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:07, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Uploading images

[edit]

Hi! Just to let you know there's a guide to uploading images: see Wikipedia:Uploading images. Hope this helps you with your editing – remember to read our image use policy! Let me know if you need any help editing. Cheers, matt (talk) 17:44, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Karen Gillan image

[edit]

Hi. Unfortunately, the Karen Gillan image you uploaded was not suitable for Wikipedia. This is because it was a non-free image (see our fair use policy). As we've already got an image that is free to use (under a Creative Commons licence) then we can't have a non-free one. I hope this makes sense – the image use policy can explain it far better than I can! Please let me know if you need clarification or any further help. Regards, matt (talk) 17:53, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Rihanna-debuts-long-red-hair.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rihanna-debuts-long-red-hair.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:08, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Rihanna-debuts-long-red-hair.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 06:34, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Cheryl Cole Curls 2011.JPEG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cheryl Cole Curls 2011.JPEG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted you again today because I still have concerns over this image. You've released it under the Creative Commons ShareALike Licence, but have included little information to suggest ownership. Do you own the image? If not, have you sought the permission of the publisher/website to use it? I'm going to open a discussion at the Cheryl Cole talk page raising my concerns so you might wish to contribute to the discussion. Thanks Paul MacDermott (talk) 20:22, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you show me that you understand them now? Can you give me an example of when it is OK to use a copyrighted image in Wikipedia? Can you explain what you did wrong with File:Cheryl Cole Curls 2011.JPEG and File:Rihanna-debuts-long-red-hair.jpg?—Kww(talk) 21:35, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When there is a photo which is better than the one that is on the profile, and you own the copyrights or when you get the right to publish from the original owner of the photo, that good?

That's an example of a time when it's OK, yes. How about the second question? Can you explain what you did wrong with File:Cheryl Cole Curls 2011.JPEG and File:Rihanna-debuts-long-red-hair.jpg?

I didn't provide the correct copyright details or didn't provide copyright details at all!

In one of them, you claimed a source of "xposurephotos.com" and listed a license of ""CC-BY-SA". That's more than listing "incorrect copyright details". Why did you say those things?—Kww(talk) 21:24, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that was correct! Truly!

What made you believe that they had released that image according to that license?—Kww(talk) 21:34, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I remembered it on the website!

I've thought this over, and I'm just having a hard time believing that you have suddenly come to understand everything you didn't understand before. If I unblock you, it would be on the terms that you don't upload any images without discussing them with me first. You would have to leave a message on my talk page explaining what you wanted to upload and why you think it's allowed. If you uploaded without doing that, I would reinstall the block. Could you agree to those terms?—Kww(talk) 12:15, 9 October 2011 (UTC) Yes but i could I stop doing it if I get to know how to do uploading properly![reply]

It would be for a minimum of 6 months. I'd extend it if I still didn't feel you understood what you were doing.—Kww(talk) 03:25, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's been over a year! Can I please be unblocked?
