License tagging for File:DumaresqMarkVIIIDiagram.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:DumaresqMarkVIIIDiagram.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
NowCommons: File:VickersRangeClockDiagram.jpg
[edit]File:VickersRangeClockDiagram.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:VickersRangeClockDiagram.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:VickersRangeClockDiagram.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 19:36, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Robert Whitehead picture
[edit]Hi DulcetTone. Thanks for the compliment on my old talk page. The image was from a magazine and spread over two pages so it had to be joined in the middle - you may be able to see it if you look closely enough.
I uploaded quite a few images and if you check earlier version of my talk page you'll find some links. You'll also see one of the reasons I decided to leave Wikipedia. If you need to contact me tho' you can still, via my e-mail link .

HMS Queen Mary
[edit]I am very sorry but I have temporarily reverted your edit to the article on HMS Queen Mary. Please could we discuss it at Talk:HMS Queen Mary#Main armament elevation. I am not sure whether the basis of your edit was that the original editor who wrote the article had misunderstood Campbell's book, or whether you have other information from other sources.--Toddy1 (talk) 05:29, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

dreadnoughtproject.org
[edit]Hi, I've just removed the links you added to dreadnoughtproject.org to the articles on various battleships and battlecruisers. As that website has very little content and appears to be a wiki, I don't think that it meets the requirements of a suitable external link (WP:EL). If you'd like to add these links, I'd suggest that you first gain agreement from other editors via a discussion at WP:OMT. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 10:58, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Java's Wheel
[edit]I removed the section of the HMS Java's page that dealt with her wheel being installed on the USS Constitution. While you are most certainly correct, the reference was to the Talk page. I also noted that the USS Constitution's page mentions the wheel being installed with a ref, but does not follow up with its replacement. If you can undue my edit and replace the ref I would appreciate it, and adding that information to the USS Constitution's page seems the right path to take. I am breaking one of my strongly held principals to never edit WP again (I am an ex-editor) so please understand why I don't do this myself. I only made this exception because of my deep respect for the sailors who still serve aboard the Constitution. Cheers, 133.48.61.196 (talk) 04:19, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Battle of Coronel
[edit]Thanks for the edit. This article is a real disaster area, it has suffered from the common Wikipedia problem of editors enthusiastically adding content with little regard to where it belongs in the article. This often has the consequence of vast amounts of repeated material. I'm attempting to tidy the thing up a bit; any help would be appreciated. (collateral damage is almost inevitable) I feel that as it stands the article is over-reliant on Castles of Steel... I think I will get From Dreadnought to Scapa Flow ou of the library. And if he says nothing about Cradock steaming in merely to deplete Spee's stock of ammunition, I will take great pleasure in deleting that supposition.TheLongTone (talk) 14:35, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
Your efforts on that page are helping a lot. Keep up the good work! DulcetTone (talk) 20:55, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

[edit]160-footer steam torpedo boats
[edit]Dear DulcetTone, I've noted with pleasure the improvements you have made to the Infoboxes as regards the three classes of "160-footer" in the British Navy. I think that you're an editor with the Dreadnought Project. I've noted that in the Project, the three classes are all merged together and described as the "160-footer" Class. As this is plainly not a single class, do you think you could amend the entries for these thirteen boats in the Project? At the same time, you could usefully insert the precise building dates there instead of just the years. Regards (and Seasonal Greetings!), Rif. Rif Winfield (talk) 11:57, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi, Rif. I will look into this. Many such areas on my site reflect a reach for breadth that overcomes my grasp for the details. Let me check how my site compares to WP here. DulcetTone (talk) 18:36, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Should you need other details, email me on tanparcau@btopenworld.com. I have a complete copy of the Thornycroft list (which provides substantive extra detail including trials performance and correspondence re contracts), to augment the details you will find in my Sail and Steam Navy List or Conway's All the World's Fighting Ships 1860-1905.
