Hi psi36, thanks for your message on my talk page about the Technics SL-1200 article. I have done a little more work on it since yesterday. David Thrale 21:19, 12 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Breakcore Gives Me Wood

[edit]

I deleted the initial article for having no assertion of notability. It basically said it was a bunch of guys who threw some parties. The new stub is slightly better, and shouldn't be speedied, though I can't promise it will meet encyclopedic standards to esacpe an AfD. I have no opinion at the moment. -R. fiend 15:55, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Gigglin Dildas

[edit]

The guideline for inclusion of bands in Wikipedia are WP:MUSIC, and the article didn't make any assertion to meet them. To be fair, I will not deleted it again, but I suspect that, unless the article is added some more notability assertion, someone else will deleted it. Regarding the Google test, I'd add that 7 hits are really too low (some people would set a notability bar at 300 or more). However, the Google test is only one way to establish notability. Take a look at WP:MUSIC, and see if there is some other criteria this band meets. Regards. - Liberatore(T) 14:41, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FFF (artist)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on FFF (artist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mhking 12:08, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I only nominated the article for a speedy delete, as I felt it did not meet WP:MUSIC. The admin who actually did the deleting should have read the talk page and governed him/herself accordingly. Conversely, if the article had been deleted previously (had it? I'm not certain) and reposted, there may have been some issue there. --Mhking 18:14, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, it will need to have some empirical sources in English that can be referenced in order to provide notability. I would strongly suggest you bring this up on the talk page of WP:MUSIC. Many people who have hammered together the guidelines keep an eye on that page, and discuss related issues there. I'm sure this is something that they may be able to come with a solution for. --Mhking 18:34, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Breakcore Gives Me Wood logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Breakcore Gives Me Wood logo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:28, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Clash Records logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Clash Records logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Chevron (artist), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chevron (artist). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Kittybrewster 17:27, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on DJ Scud requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article DJ Scud has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable person - No indication how this DJ meets WP:MUSIC or WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Codf1977 (talk) 06:56, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Breakcore Gives Me Wood has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Could not find any significant third-party coverage to establish the notability of this record label, and so fails WP:CORP, WP:GNG, and WP:N at the very least.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
