DYK

[edit]

Thanks for your review of the hook for Ecobank Nigeria (which I nominated) and for your contributions of articles about topics related to Ghana. Please note that reviews of DYK nominations should now include an evaluation of the article to verify that it does not plagiarize sources or violate copyright (this includes not having WP:Close paraphrasing) and to ensure that it is adequately supported by inline reference citations (see item D2 at Wikipedia:Did you know/Supplementary guidelines). I think that Ecobank Nigeria meets these criteria, but I wanted to point them out to you because you didn't mention them in your review comments. --Orlady (talk) 18:54, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ghana

[edit]

Hi Crosstemplejay, as a regular editor of the Wikipedia article Ghana, I have recently come across an editor by the name "Yellowfiver", this same Yellowfiver claims that he has "great knowledge of Ghana that comes from studying Ghanaian history and his passion comes from being Ghanaian and having family members who were involved in the independence movement.", but if you look at this edit that he made on the Ghana article section of History, when he removed the images of Yaa Asantewaa, Prempeh I and Asante royal thrones and said that those images "are too too Ashanti-centric", see here for his edit --> (on 07:05, 14 January 2012 http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana&diff=471279727&oldid=471161340), which I reverted. Now today this same Yellowfiver that claims he has great knowledge of Ghana and he is Ghanaian and claims he is from Kokofu and Kumasi, Ashanti Region, added this tag "Template:Too many photos", and Yellowfiver says that "If images in the History section of the Wikipedia article Ghana are not reverted back to original format, the issue will go to Wikipedia:Mediation" see here for his edit --> (http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana&diff=472444365&oldid=472338756), which I once again reverted. Crosstemplejay, I am Ghanaian, but this Yellowfiver who claims he has great knowledge of Ghana and his family members were involved in the Ghana independence movement and also claims he is from Kokofu and Kumasi, but yet again when I took a look at his edit history, I saw that he had been editing articles such as the Nigerian Yoruba people history, I now have suspicion that this "Yellowfiver" is not a Ghanaian at all but a Nigerian Yoruba people who are the over 350,000 Nigerian immigrants in Ghana and make up almost all of the prison population in Ghana, is trying to destroy the quality of the Ghana article and the History section of the Ghana article and because of this fact on the Crime section in the Ghana article, click here --> Ghana#Crime. Crosstemplejay and now "Yellowfiver" says that tomorrow 22 January 2012, he "Yellowfiver" said to me that "You have dumped tons of images on the Ghana page and trust me, this will be rectified. I'am going take this to wikipedia mediation tomorrow, and we'll have a proper resolution. Thanks again for making the article 'Ghana article' a picture book". Crosstemplejay I really believe this "Yellowfiver" guy is a Nigerian, please see the messages that the "Yellowfiver" left on my user talk page User talk:MarkMysoe.

Crosstemplejay note that when I undid this "Yellowfiver" revision (on 07:05, 14 January 2012 http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana&diff=471279727&oldid=471161340), it took this "Yellowfiver" 1 week to RESPOND to my reverting of his edit, which he has today 21 January 2012 responded by adding the tag "Template:Too many photos" to the Ghana article, see here for his edit today --> (http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana&diff=472444365&oldid=472338756), so it took "Yellowfiver" untill today 21 January 2012, to RESPOND on my reverting of his revision to the Ghana article (on 07:05, 14 January 2012 http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana&diff=471279727&oldid=471161340), BECAUSE of the this fact on the Crime section in the Ghana article, which I added to the Ghana article yesterday 20 January 2012, click here --> Ghana#Crime, then take a look at the IP addressed vandalism's to the Ghana#Crime section since I created the section on 20 January 2012, click here --> Special:Contributions/41.93.132.91 edit on 20 January 2012 and Special:Contributions/97.85.84.208 edit on 21 January 2012, which I strongly believe are IP addressed vandalism's from "Yellowfiver".

Crosstemplejay, I see that on your user page you are or were a student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, which I have edited previously to better the article with images, see here --> http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Kwame_Nkrumah_University_of_Science_and_Technology&action=history and I have also previously edited the universities template to better it, see here --> http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Template:KNUSTtemplate&action=history. Crosstemplejay, there has been no experienced/professional Wikipedia editors have complained about the images on the Wikipedia article Ghana, simply because there is not a problem with the article nor the amount of images on the article. The images in the Wikipedia article Ghana are there because they aid the topic and texts in the article not because they are important to the article. This "Yellowfiver" if he really knew the Histoy of Ghana then he would not be trying to destroy the History section of the Ghana article by removing images from the History section of the Ghana article. Crosstemplejay, I really believe that this "Yellowfiver" is actually a Nigerian Yoruba people who are the over 350,000 Nigerian immigrants in Ghana and make up almost all of the prison population in Ghana, is trying to destroy the quality of the Ghana article and the History section of the Ghana article and because of this fact on the Crime section in the Ghana article, click here --> Ghana#Crime. Please beware of this Nigerian in disguise "Yellowfiver" claiming he is a Ghanaian and whom claims he has great knowledge of Ghana and his family members who were involved in the Ghana independence movement and also claims he is from Kokofu and Kumasi, but yet again when I take a look at his "Yellowfiver" edit history, I see that he has edited articles such as the Nigerian Yoruba people article and history section. Please Crosstemplejay, beware of this Nigerian editor "Yellowfiver", as he is trying to destroy the quality Ghana article and the rich and prestigious History section of the Ghana article by removing images from the whole article, due to the useless Nigeria article and its article Nigeria History section. This is proof of how "Yellowfiver" is trying to destroy the quality Ghana article, please take a look at the IP addressed vandalism's to the Ghana#Crime section since I created the section on 20 January 2012, click here --> Special:Contributions/41.93.132.91 edit on 20 January 2012 and Special:Contributions/97.85.84.208 edit on 21 January 2012, which I strongly believe are IP addressed vandalism's from "Yellowfiver". Regards -- MarkMysoe (talk) 21:18, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi MarkMysoe, I have looked at the issues you raised and frankly, I agree with you. I admire the painstaking way you have put forth you argument and it I must say that I cannot see where you are at fault. If the other editor has issues with your contributions, let him/her take it to the arbitration committee. My only issue is a suggestion, will it be possible to reduce the size of pictures you put there? And try to keep the within text so that both sides of the page would not have pictures flowing down them. Keep up the work. God bless. A friend called  CrossTempleJay  → talk 23:42, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi again Crosstemplejay, I have just reduced the size of pictures in the (Ghana#Etymology) and (Ghana#History) sections in the article Ghana, to keep the within text so that both sides of the page would not have pictures flowing down them like suggested, could you let me know what you think. I believe that the pictures in the (Ghana#History) sections was what Yellowfiver was complaining about. I really done my best, it wasn't easy it had taken me almost 2 hours to reduce the picture sizes and construct them so that they keep the within text and so that both sides of the page would not have pictures flowing down them. God bless you to my brother and thank you for your help. -- MarkMysoe (talk) 04:08, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Great work with the pictures. I really like how they have been resized. I have soem suggestions, the section about crime is good, but I feel too much emphasize is placed on Nigerian immigrants being either thieves or beggers. Could you reduce the punch that readers feel, especially other African nationals. Again, the corrupt nature of the police is proven well in the report, but I think if it reads as a general statement ie "corruption in government agencies in Ghana including the police" backed by the reference you provided, then that will read better. Overall I must say your contributions are worthwhile. God bless. Let me know if anything else bothers you. A brother called - CrossTempleJay  → talk 13:04, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Crosstemplejay, I have further explained the crime-corruption situation in the Crime section of the Ghana article, and the rest is what information is written in the references that is provided. God bless you brother and once again, I would like to thank you for your help Crosstemplejay. -- MarkMysoe (talk) 09:32, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I Really need your help

[edit]

Brother Crosstemplejay, good greetings to you again, I'm really in need of your good help. I have this problem with a un-administrator editor who uses the name Banana Fingers. I have been looking after the Ghana national football team as well as the Ghana articles and you are aware of my good editing skills to make articles quality and information for people to read on Wikipedia. Now I am a long time editor and watcher with 51 other watchers of the Ghana national football team and Ghana articles and the other 51 watchers are in favor of the quality of my editing to the Ghana national football team article. Now just about 4 days ago this un-administrator editor Banana Fingers has been continuously vandalizing the Ghana national football team article, which I think is due to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations that has attracted him Banana Fingers to the vandalizing and disruptive editing of the Ghana national football team article, from the way I have neatly built and made the article quality over the last 4 months.

Crosstemplejay just take a look at the vandalizing this editor has done to the quality of the Ghana national football team article --> http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana_national_football_team&diff=474614606&oldid=474557474 and my reverting of this Banana Fingers's vandalizing and disruptive editing --> http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana_national_football_team&diff=474655642&oldid=474614606, Now take a look at the article before I started editing it on the 17 November 2011 to the quality it is today http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana_national_football_team&offset=20111121053817&action=history then look at the start of Banana Fingers's vandalizing and disruptive editing on his first and following edits on the Ghana national football team article which he started on 30 January 2012‎ http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Ghana_national_football_team&action=history.

Please Crosstemplejay, I'am just trying to keep the "Black Stars Ghana national football team" article quality in the same way I have to the Ghana article which is what the caliber of the "Black Stars" team and the country Ghana both deserve, and now please look at the way this Banana Fingers is abusing me of reverting his vandalizing and disruptive editing to the article "Ghana national football team" --> http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:MarkMysoe. Please Crosstemplejay could you help me just this one time by doing me a forever grateful favor by warning Banana Fingers to stop the vandalizing and disruptive editing and to stop reverting my un-vandalizing of his vandalizing and disruptive editing to the article Ghana national football team, I would be forever grateful Crosstemplejay and God bless you. -- MarkMysoe (talk) 01:14, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
