Logos
The policy on logos says, "logos should be used only when the logo is reasonably familiar (or when the logo itself is of interest for design or artistic reasons)" and several other reasons why the Comic-Con logo should not be used in and of itself. Kwik-E-Mart

I don't think sections that big are needed for those items. All of the images are from various websites, and unless those websites have given their permission, they qualify as fair use. And in this case, the images can easily be replaced by free alternatives (ie. Somebody could go to a 7-Eleven and take similar pictures themselvess).

BTW, thank you for taking and uploading all those pics from Comic-con! ˉˉanetode╦╩ 04:25, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, did you get any other Simpsons ones, or was it just Smith and Groening? Because any others, of the staff and cast would be great. Gran2 11:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pink Movie Doughnut

Where did you take those photographs? Which doughnut outlet is selling them? Wikidudeman (talk) 06:45, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually both. I noticed they came from a 7-eleven converted to a "Kwik-e-mart". I wash there was one in my city. Wikidudeman (talk) 06:56, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well, I added the info to the page. I actually traveled from Indiana, all the way to Denver and Las Vegas and took these pictures. I was actually on my way to Comic Con.CoolKid1993 06:58, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I can understand disagreeing with the choice of image (a purely editorial choice), but why do you keep deleting the Commons template from the page? Videmus Omnia Talk 03:00, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you are referring to. The only edits that I have made regarding the Olivia Munn image is reverting your edit on the article to include the picture uploaded by me. I did not edit the Commons template. CoolKid1993 03:02, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See this edit. You deleted the template. Could you also explain why you reverted the photo? Videmus Omnia Talk 03:05, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure why it deleted the template, I had no idea it was even there and have never noticed it. I have no reason to want to delete it, or even know what it is for. I reverted the photo primarily because the photo you uploaded does not belong to you, even though you retrieved permission from the copyright holder, I feel that it would be better if the article included a picture by the person who actually took the photo and would better suit the article. I really have no specific reason though, if you feel that your image is better suited for the article, then you are welcome to use that one. CoolKid1993 03:12, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images

Can you get images of Aubrey Ankrum and David Winn. N.Flen —Preceding unsigned comment added by N.Flen (talkcontribs) 01:24, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

I could get them off the DVD, if they are really necessary. Those would be the only pictures I would have of them. CoolKid1993 18:58, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Gravel-wiki.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:08, 5 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:U4Prez.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:U4Prez.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use Image:Lori_Beth_Movie.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lori_Beth_Movie.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use rationale for Image:FigureItOutlogo.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:FigureItOutlogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 13:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Unspecified source for Image:Rhodemontijo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rhodemontijo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 14:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Alan Keyes.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Alan Keyes.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B 10:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Alan_Keyes.png

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Alan_Keyes.png.

Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 00:26, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Gravel-wiki.jpg

Please clarify the status of Image:Gravel-wiki.jpg. I see no evidence of the Creative Commons licence you placed on it on the source page. Did I miss something-- please point it out if so. Also you have it listed as fair use rational and irreplaceable. Note Wikimedia has a number of free licenced images of Mike Gravel. It is YOUR responsibility to accurately determine and list the source and copyright status of any image you upload. Please correct any incorrect information promptly; images may be deleted and uploaders may be blocked for repeat wrong information. If you have any questions you are having a problem finding answers to, ask. -- Infrogmation 22:02, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not remove the tags alerting users to concerns about the image. If you don't like the tag, you can either: A) Adress the concerns about the image, which you've already been notified about or B)Replace that image in the article with one of the multiple images of Mike Gravel which we have sourced free licence for. -- Infrogmation 12:40, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you really made a vector image of the Nobel Prize medal, please re-upload it as a vector image in SVG format, rather than as a low-res PNG. Thanks. — Richie 20:57, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would be glad to reupload the vector image as an SVG file, but I am unsure how to do so. I drew the original picture in CorelDRAW, could you please instruct me on how to do so? CoolKid1993 01:21, 15 October 2007 (UTC) – Copied from User_talk:Richie.[reply]
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with CorelDraw. You could try to export it to SVG format using "File » Save as ..." or "File » Export ..." or similar. Maybe it offers some other useful file formats such as EPS or WMF. If you struggle, feel free to send me your file and I will track down a copy of CorelDraw and work something out. — Richie 20:34, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use/licensing disputed

Image:Nobel Prize.png

This image (tracing or copying the image of a Nobel Medal) is not within fair use; please see Image talk:Nobel in Literature.jpg and the discussion page of the image for concerns about its violations of both copyright and trademark; the images of the Nobel Prize medals are still the copyrighted and trademarked properties of the Nobel Foundation. Your claims that this image is your property and the license that you claim for it are both challenged by more than one editor in Image talk:Nobel Prize.png. Please do not replace the Wikipedia Commons image of the Nobel Medal being used in Nobel Prize articles with this image. Thank you. --NYScholar 09:38, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The use of an image of questionable provenance violates Wikipedia guidelines for "good articles" and creates problems for the articles that you are inserting it in. I have replaced the image with one from Wikipedia Commons because the article it was inserted in had been approved as a "good article" with the Wikipedia Commons image, not with this one. I think this image needs to be removed from Wikipedia. --NYScholar 09:41, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nobel prize at the top of the infobox

This is a copy of the reasons for not having the icon that I left at Talk:Al Gore#Nobel prize icon at top of box.

"Until a few days ago I'd never seen the icon placed in a infobox like that. First of all it's distracting as it, along with his picture, is the first thing you see when the page opens. Next it's useless. Not everybody will know what the icon signifies, and even if they do, it doesn't link to Nobel Peace Prize, so it's not informing anyone of anything. It also overemphasises the award. It says to me that Al Gore (and the others I saw it on) is notable because he won a Nobel prize but in truth he won the prize because he did something notable. Why not add icons for his other awards as well, what about his Emmy Award.? Finally adding things like that will get out of hand. Look at Jimmy Carter, he has a Nobel Prize as well but why not add the seal of Georgia and the Presidential seal aren't they important? If it's in the box then it should be further down with a list so that the award can be linked to."

I hope that explains why I remove them, and for an example of how the boxes would look with other awards included see, User:CambridgeBayWeather/Sandbox. Of course not all the awards can be shown as some have no images and others like the Grammy Award are fairuse images. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 21:13, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The .svg file (not this user's .png image [see above])--see --is in many Nobel Laureates' infoboxes in Wikipedia; it is not appropriate to remove the image; the image is one that one clicks on to enlarge in order to read the licensing information. It is a Wikipedia Commons image and appropriate for the articles about Nobel Laureates. It was approved in the "good article" review of Harold Pinter just in the past couple of weeks, e.g. Click on the Wikipedia Commons image there for its licensing information. The image created in its place is not properly described or properly licensed, it appears to me and another editor. --NYScholar 09:50, 17 October 2007 (UTC) [belatedly threaded. --NYScholar 23:51, 18 October 2007 (UTC)][reply]

Notability of Brad Rau

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Brad Rau, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Brad Rau seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Brad Rau, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image source problem with Image:Tom Vilsack.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Tom Vilsack.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:05, 8 November 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Tom (talk - email) 02:05, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't any evidence this is an image produced by the Federal Government (state governments have independent licensing policies, typically restrictive). --Tom (talk - email) 04:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 01:22, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jiggy.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Jiggy.png.

Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing that you've made the maps for the primaries (which I have to say are the best thus far), I wanted to make some suggestions. For both maps Puerto Rico, American Samoa, and the United States Virgin Islands would have to be added, since all three choose delegates for the national conventions. For the Democratic map a box for Democrats Abroad would also need to be added. – Zntrip 04:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the edit. Another thing I noticed, which really isn't a big deal is the order of the names at the bottom, I think it would make more since in alphabetical order. And on a superficial note, on the Republican map the initials for New Hampshire is colored, unlike the Democratic one though. And just a heads up, someone will inevitably complain about the color for Alan Keyes. – Zntrip 23:36, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Bill Richardson pulled out of the race today. – Zntrip 00:51, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me, but what was the problem with the other maps? Soxπed Ninety Three | tcdb 22:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
They did not include Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands, and Democrats Abroad, which all have delegates. CoolKid1993 (talk) 22:42, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could have just posted a message on my talk page, I could have included them. I'm a little annoyed by this, as I put a lot of work into making that map. Soxπed Ninety Three | tcdb 01:32, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This might sound dumb but on the democratic map could you try to refrain from using the red and blue colors for ANY candidates (and on the republican map when the field gets smaller). I just hate the connotation of the colors and the political views they embody and how they might unduly influence a reader. Perhaps Clinton, Edwards, and Obama can be yellow, green, and orange.....and then make Gravel purple and Kucinich black????

Dem Map by County

I went ahead and removed all those mistaken color changes for the TX caucuses on the Democratic Results by County image. Those are far from complete numbers (with the exception of two counties which have been fully reported). As the TX site says, that page is not going to be updated anymore and will remain incomplete until things are prepared for the second step the caucus process later in the month. Though it certainly would look weird to have a map of counties mostly marked as unavailable, that is preferable to having a map of incorrect calls to Obama or Clinton. —Xiibaro (talk) 08:53, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 02:43, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

America's Got Talent template

No disrespect intended, but the template for America's Got Talent you made should not also be placed on the Britains Got Talent and the Got Talent series articles, as they aren't specific to America's Got Talent, whereas the template is. If this were the case, we'd have to make templates for every series in every country, and stick them on every got talent article, which I think would be a bit of a mess and completely unncessary Bungle (talkcontribs) 22:12, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: SVG Program

Hello, CoolKid1993. You have new messages at Gr1st's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

A tag has been placed on Template:Ron Paul, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Template:Ron Paul is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Template:Ron Paul saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Caterpillar.svg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Caterpillar.svg.

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:42, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No ADA source

You sourced it with a gif, but the file is an svg. Where'd you get the svg? RlevseTalk 10:17, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I created the SVG, but I referenced the Gif image to create the logo. There is no SVG file available other than the one I made, at least to my knowledge. CoolKid1993 (talk) 19:28, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but you seem to have a lot of image tag issues here on your talk page. I'll fix up the svg so the bots are less likely to hit it. RlevseTalk 20:53, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Hi CoolKid1993!
We thank you for uploading Image:Citi.svg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

I'm not convinced that you have the power to claim copyright on an image derived from Google Maps. Can you point me to chapter and verse in the terms of service that would back you up on that? It's my suspicion that the subject map is a derivative work that is subject to Google's copyright and therefore incompatible with Wikipedia. --Kbh3rdtalk 03:04, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

Please be mindful of copyright concerns when uploading images. For example, you cannot use Google Maps to create a map -- this is a copyright violation. Ral315 (talk) 03:52, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SVG logos

You've done a great job uploading a ton of SVG logos, but I notice that a few of them contain incorrect fonts. Although ideally SVG is the preferred file format, accuracy has to come first - a rough approximation in SVG is less preferable to the exact logo in PNG, JPG, etc. Quoting from the Wikipedia content guidelines: reasonable diligence should be taken to ensure that the logo is accurate and has a high-quality appearance. If for whatever reason your SVG version isn't a faithful representation of the logo, it's best not to upload it. I don't know if this is any help to you, but the new version (0.46) of Inkscape released a few weeks ago now has the capability to open Acrobat files, from which it is usually easy to create a quality SVG file. Best, Gr1st (talk) 10:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, especially for logos there is no consensus for recreating logos simply to have them in .svg, and, in fact, concerns remain about the appropriateness of doing this. If the proposed replacement has no compelling improvement in its actual design, it's best to leave the current logo in place..WT:L#SVG logos? Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to ::Image:Sullivan Indiana.png. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Don't upload fair-use images under free-use or public domain tags. This is your only warning. VegitaU (talk) 21:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Sullivan Indiana.png

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Sullivan Indiana.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? VegitaU (talk) 21:21, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Libertarian Party of Maine, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.lpedia.org/index.php/Libertarian_Party_of_Maine. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Craigslist.svg

A tag has been placed on Image:Craigslist.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Gary King (talk) 06:59, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:America's Got Talent.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Problem with Portman pic

Even if the Portman picture comes from someone who made it publicly available, it's still not appropriate for Wikipedia because (a) it was taken in a setting in which people are often forbidden from taking pictures or (b) the image on the screen may be subject to copyright. There are far too many other pictures of Comic-Con available to bother with such an awkward looking image anyway. Doczilla STOMP! 05:07, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
