COI

[edit]

You have been mentioned here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#Thomas_Modly_-_PR_firm_is_making_paid_edits Snooganssnoogans (talk) 19:18, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits

[edit]

First, I notice you are now proposing to add the exact same language about Modly's early life to the article that the user R5752332 earlier tried to add to the article directly. When I asked R5752332 if they were a paid editor, they directly denied it. As you are proposing the same edits, I assume you are affiliated with the same firm, and for the record, I do not appreciate being lied to.

Second, when you add comments to a talk page, please add them to the bottom of the page, not the top.

Third, if you are proposing an edit to a page with which you have a conflict of interest (as you do with Thomas Modly), please add {{Request edit}} to the top of the text you are proposing to add. This will add it to a list of proposed edits that other editors can review and, if appropriate, add to the article. If you don't use the "request edit" code, your proposed changes will likely be lost, as a low-trafficked article like Modly likely has relatively few people actively watching the talk page.

Fourth, I earlier rejected your "Early life" edit on the grounds that it appeared to be one massive copyright violation. Your current request is exactly the same; the source you are copying from indicates that the text is under a copyright and cannot be used verbatim on Wikipedia. I am going to be removing that part of your edit request because we cannot host copyrighted materials on Wikipedia except under very specific circumstances. You can still propose to add the material to the article, but your addition must not infringe on any copyrights. Aoi (青い) (talk) 21:22, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for the advice in making edits, Aoi (青い). I will be sure to add edits to the bottom of the page, and add the "Request edit" to the top of the text I am proposing to add. I will be going in now to the "Early Life" section and make sure it is not a copyright violation. Much of the language in there is already on Modly's page as of now, but I will make sure it does not infringe on any copyrights. Thanks again for your advice and looking forward to review.

Information icon Hello, Coffeebar20, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. JBchrch talk 21:54, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not implement your own edit requests. Leave it for an uninvolved editor to review. The queue for edit requests is rather long so it may take a while for the edit request to be answered so please be patient. Aoi (青い) (talk) 20:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Aoi (青い). From what I understand, an impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit and had asked me to go ahead and make the suggested changes. This seems to allow the COI editor (myself) to make the requested edit to the article myself.

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:R5752332 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/R5752332. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- RoySmith (talk) 18:13, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
