entry un my userpagehi there, thanks for the generic welcome message. i might be activ in the english wiki so long, bit there's a few time i'm an author in the german one. so thanks for the explanation of server commands, but actually there's no need of it, cause they are the same ones like in the german wiki. and i never used the commands yet. so what have i done wrong? dont teat me like a noob. thanks again for the welcome. --Redlukas 14:41, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Please Help! COTW!I see that you actively help out on Wikipedia, that's great! I am asking for your help on the improvement and collaboration of the article Queen's University. It has been nominated for the Article Improvement Drive and needs votes! You can vote through the Talk:Queen's University. Your help would be awesome, and ask me for help anytime!! P.S. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. --Speedystickd 23:43, 28 August 2006 (UTC) SpammingSorry if I caused any problems with my "spamming". I did not know this was against the rules. Anyway I was just trying to get the word out because this article needs another POV rather than just from obvious students who use this article as a stage for academic boosterism. We need a wide range of others who can provide a more balanced point of view about the institution, especially because of recent accusations of institutional racism, problems with student riots, and problems with alcohol. These problems are overshadowed by an elitist college riding on a reputation. Speedystickd 00:42, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Coffee COTWI don't mean to come across as pompous, but I would actually like to add my vote for coffee. Speedystickd 03:04, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Happy Wikipedia Welcome!ClockworkSoul, your page is crazy interesting, I'm glad you are on the welcoming committee, I have been a Wikimember for 5 mins. now and am overwhelmed with the different aspects of this entity. 2 quick questions: How do I delete gibberish in the sandbox (some vulgar writing and an external link which is at: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Template:Please_leave_this_line_alone_%28emily_luvs_chocolate%29&action=edit ) and what does farc'd article mean? I'm guessing not Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia!! I hate not knowing new abbreviations...or else it's not new and I'm just out of it! Have a great day! Kanadajin 04:41, 29 August 2006 (UTC) Woah!I just wanted to compliment you on your awesome User Page. I love it. Well, that's all, but I think it's really neat. Thanks for the welcome etcThanks for the welcome. I'm happy to help with Wikiproject:MCB, i'm a bit of a drive-by editor rather than a full author, but i'll do what i can. I see your a member of Wikiproject:Beer, as a keen brewer i'll have to have a look at that too. Xcomradex 08:52, 29 August 2006 (UTC) Since it's your baby i thought i'd comment here, the diagram in caffeine, do you think it needs the colours on the atoms? it is imo distracting, there has been some discussion on this sort of thing in some of the WP:Chemistry articles. You'd never see anything like it in the literature either. Just some thoughts from a chemistry perspective. Xcomradex 23:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC) Fair enough, if others like them they can stay. nice article all the same, i hope it gets on the main page sometime soon! Xcomradex 05:05, 30 August 2006 (UTC) Ditto the thanks! ShaiM 05:43, 6 September 2006 (UTC) Hey, just noticed that you're working on bringing this back to life, and wanted to suggest that the guide to WikiProjects might contain some ideas you might be able to use. It's not finished, obviously—in particular, the sections about project growth haven't been written—but maybe there's something you would find useful anyways. :-) Kirill Lokshin 17:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC) ThanksThanks for your help. Cheers. Speedystickd 23:01, 29 August 2006 (UTC) Who Broke The Links? While cleaning up the molecular biology project page yesterday, you seem to have accidently broken some links. I tried to work out what was going on and fix it myself but got all confused (and lazy). Could you help? --Username132 (talk) 19:19, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Project CleanupI've tried to join in the clean up by archiving stuff from the project discussion page to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Molecular_and_Cellular_Biology/Discussion_Archive. I you agree, I propose that after I've finished the archive, you check it and I delete it and we can always call it back in the very unlikely event that someone want it. Alternatively, we could keep the archive. I've never archived before (aren't there bots for that sort of thing?) so I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just trying to make that discussion page more usable. Further, I think it might be an idea to separate the remaining topics of discussion to pages for proposals, announcements, requests for help etc. I think that currently a lack of commuincation might stiffle progress. --Username132 (talk) 20:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
TfD nomination of Template:User WicTemplate:User Wic has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. —Mets501 (talk) 18:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC) I was prodding this when you deleted it, but I think it should be observed that it was most probably not patent nonsense and ought not to have been speedied under G1 (or, for that matter, A1). As Wikipedia:Patent nonsense and Wikipedia:Hoaxes explain, hoax articles, at least those that are not unsalvageably incoherent, as was this, are not speediable and ought, IMHO, to be disposed of at AfD or PROD, toward which proposition see, e.g., Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion/Archive10#CSD G1. I don't imagine that G3 would be appropriate here either, even as the text is plainly apropos of a non-existent issue, but that's a discussion to which I don't imagine we need to get, if only because, to be sure, the project is in no way harmed—indeed, is bettered—by your having speedied the article. Nevertheless, the temptation to speedy or tag for speedy those articles about the ultimate fate of which one can be eminently sure notwithstanding, it is, IMHO, better, as regards speedy deletion, to err on the side of process than on the side of IAR. Again, no problem here, but it's something about which to think in general, I think [of course, there are many who don't share my view and think that discretion here should be wide, so you might do well to pay me no attention :)]... Barnstar for your work on CaffeineCivilityIf you'll check the revision history, you'll note that the person I was cursing out was myself. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. This can't be the right license--the photographer of an 191x picture can't have died > 100 years ago. Evolution revertWhy did you rollback my revert on the Evolution article? This is the sentence you restored "It is from DNA sequence comparisons that figures such as the 95% similarity between humans and chimpanzees." This the sentence with my changes "It is from DNA sequence comparisons that figures such as the 95% similarity between humans and chimpanzees come." What vandalism do you see for using the rollback? [1] [2] [3] Thank you! — X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 20:17, 23 September 2006 (UTC) UnsignedSnowfire, I concur and I have thus eliminated the term ´´educated speakers´´ from the article. You were however incorrect to revert the article since the previous version implies that nobody uses the term ´´fraulein´´. I do not understand why you reverted the article when you could have simply made the correction. In the future, I would suggest more thorough research into articles before blindly performing reverts.
ThanksThanks for sending me the paper. I can't thank you enough. I am working on a short time span and need the medical papers quickly for reasons you can check on the reference desk. Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Science#Emphysema and Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Science#Liver_transplant. I've posted two topics on it, with the last one being near the end of the page. After some discussion about changing the name of the "Working Man's Barnstar" to something gender inclusive, we realized that there is not much distinction between "Working Man's Barnstar" and the "Barnstar of Diligence". In order to avoid an overly-PC rename of "Working Man's", and given that there's not much difference between the two anyway, I thought it'd be best to conflate the two awards and have only "The Barnstar of Diligence." Your opinion on the matter would be much appreciated! The discussion can be found here. Cheers! -- Merope Talk 17:44, 10 October 2006 (UTC) rotating modelsI agree with you on the removal of the rotating models. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." --George Orwell, Animal Farm Assessment of MCB articlesHi Clockwork, I haven't quite understood the assessment list yet. From what I understood we are supposed to tag MCB-related articles on their talk page if they aren't in the list yet. But are we also supposed to rate their importance and current state ourselves or not? Maybe you have noticed I added a few articles to the list and in those cases I also gave them a rating but I saw some people adding articles to the list and leave the assessment blank. So, what are we supposed to do? Also, do you use some kind of bot to create the list? Would that mean that adding a tag to the talk page of the corresponding article is enough and from time to time your bot would update the list?? Thanks, Splette Talk 19:27, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

While much of my main research focuses onbone, orthopaedics, drugs, etc., I tend to spend most of my edit time fixing up basic cell biology such as cell culture, immunostaining, etc. I think I'll spend the time (when I have it) fxing up the stem cell field a bit more. Many of the articles I looked at recently multipotency vs pluripotency, progenitor cell, etc. were either stubs or contained incorrect information. Part of the challenge I think for the Wikiproject (which you will be coordinator for) will be keeping the right level of depth. It is tempting to put in a lot of detail (e.g. recent changes to glycolysis). I have a PhD in biochemistry and molecular genetics, and I find that page heavy going! I reckon the average lay person would find it incomprehensible. Enough of a rant. Thanks again for making the MCB page less protein-obsessed! Dr Aaron 07:06, 19 October 2006 (UTC) Request for help!Hi Clockwork, I’m sending this message out to about 4-5 people I’ve worked with here on Wikipedia. I've done a few diagrams with/in concjuction with the MCB project. This isn't a blind carbon copy to 1000 people. Sorry its only partially wiki-related... Basically as you probably know I make a lot of diagrams for use on Wikipedia in my spare time while studying a Biochemistry BSc (hons) degree at the University of Sussex in the UK. Next year (in my final year) I’m planning on starting up a medical graphics company. Its been suggested to me more than once that some of my diagrams are as good as, if not better than those presently in research papers and text books, so it seems like a good logical progression (and more so something I enjoy!) to start up a company producing them. But without a reputation, and as a nameless student work will be stagnant or non-existent. So I’m desperately trying to make a small name for myself and to build a credible reputation as both a scientist and artist. So to cut to the chase what I’m messaging people about is just to say please please please, if you or any of your colleagues are publishing research articles/text books etc. and need bespoke diagrams please get them in touch, I would be forever grateful! I’m very very happy to do the jobs for free as I enjoy them anyway and the exposure would help me no end! They have nothing to lose, if they don’t like what I produce its not like they paid for it, and are under no obligation to use it. I can’t stress how helpful a diagram in a published work would be for me. I do have a portfolio of generally better work than the pics here on Wikipedia, but examples to show colleagues are those such as: Anyway, as always if you need any diagrams done here on Wikipedia, I’m an email away! If you do by any chance know of anyone seeking a scientist/artist then please be sure to get them onto me! (My email is nick-daines@hotmail.com). Thanks! Did you notice the recent changes that were made to the article? In particular the new sentence in the introduction? Did you see the new section about the qualifications (or rather lack of qualifications) Kt66 added? Please believe me when I say I don't mind an article on the NKT that mentions criticism but what is happening here is simply not fair. Would it be possible to delete the current article and ask an administrator to write a new article? Only the administrator should be allowed to edit the article. He could receive advice from the users on the talk page. The article should then be blocked to prevent any further changes. Would such a procedure be possible on WP at all??? Otherwise, I think we should follow Jimmy Wales advice and have no article on the NKT at all rather than one that is a constant battle ground for partisans. Do you have any other ideas? Please think about your responsibility as an WP administrator. Thank you. Marpa 21:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
