Caracal Rooikat

Hi BoonDock,

You and I are both familiar with a user called "Caracal Rooikat", late of 8 SAI, who edits some of the SANDF articles on site. He's also uploaded dozens of images pertaining to the defence force and I've been patrolling them to ensure they don't get deleted over at Commons. I'm pleased that Rooikat has expanded Wikipedia's rather undeveloped trove of SANDF media, but it has lately come to my attention some of the photographs he claims to have taken were in fact published elsewhere on the web by others first.

I have reminded Rooikat that we must respect photos owned by other service members and not take credit for their work, but he has responded by ignoring me and deleting my messages every time I broach the topic, both here and on Commons.

I'm concerned that if a copyright violation is detected by the Wiki staff, they may very well delete all of CR's pictures and just think of the unit articles that would suddenly would go bare. He needs to clarify which of the photos are actually his and which are not.

As this is a very delicate matter, perhaps you could also message him? I suspect he'd be rather more inclined to listen to you.
