Re: This was on my talk page
Actually, I already got one. I believe it was meant for you, as the same user awarded that barnstar to other users, but they all said they were awarded to me. I left a message on the user's talk page about it. —The Great Llamamoo? 21:52, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Redirects on airport articles
Actually, I wasn't reading the alternate names of the airports. I was replacing all characters containing diacritical marks and replacing them with letters found on a standard English keyboard. It's somewhat hard to find an article if you don't have the letters to type its name in, so that's why I'm making the redirects.
- Ex: 06:53, December 3, 2006 (hist) (diff) Lodz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport (←Redirected page to Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport) (top)
Hope that answers your question. thadius856talk|airports|neutrality 07:09, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Remember to add subst: tags...
Hello Bearly541, I noticed you left this blatant vandal warning on an anonymous user's IP talk page. When using warning templates or other templates on user talk pages its strongly recommended to add the subst: tag (ex. ). It allows you to post the exact text rather than having your message susceptible to template changes. Hope this helps and keep up the good work.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 07:15, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
CSD criteria
Hi Bearly541. I see you are doing some newpages patrol. That's great. We need lots of help. However, I have also seen a few "speedy because" tags (... (which is the same as ...)) on articles that do not meet any criteria for speedy deletion. Sure, there are instances when none of the tags are an exact fit and it's useful to use db with a stated reason, but the reason still has to fit within the ambit of the criteria. Consider prodding articles where there is there is nothing that fits. I also have seen a few articles where you have tagged also with a generic db followed by a reason which directly fits within the criteria but not used the tag made for that purpose. For instance you used nonsense for a recent article. I was wondering if you were familiar with the specific tags such as (to name the most common): db-nonsense, db-bio, db-band, db-group, db-empty, db-nocontext, db-attack, db-test and db-vandal. You learn them very quickly once you use them for a while. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit 07:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wow! Looks like you were posting to my talk page at the same time I was writing the above. Never substitute db tags; always substitute the warnings you place on user talk pages such as nn-warn, test etc. It's takes a while to learn what gets substituted and what doesn't. All the warnings I wrote about above, do not substitute except for prod. But the genrral rule is that article tags are mostly not substituted, including maintenance tags (unsourced, wikify etc.), whereas almost every template you post to a user's talk page should be substituted. You'll get the hang of it. If anything is unclear, please drop me a message.--Fuhghettaboutit 07:51, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Re: Bean Bailey
- I was requesting the page to be deleted, not to be saved. I was placing the delete tag upon the page. If you would have checked the page's history before it was deleted, you would have known that. Are you a new admin? Bearly541 02:07, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that is incorrect - you re-created the page the minute after it was deleted - whether this was a wikipedia issue or not, I don't know, but for proof, the article was created at 06:54 by User:Wolveelionheart666, deleted at 06:54 by User:Jimfbleak, recreated by you (same text, with a speedy tag on) at 06:55 and deleted by me, using NPWatcher at 10:45. As you may have noticed by my edit summary here and my deleiton summary, I was using NPWatcher to place the message and delete - the message is only given to the creator of the (current incarnation) of the page - in this case you. In normal circumstances, where user x creates a page and user y marks itfor deletetion, the message is only sent to one user - x. I hope this clears it up - per WP:AGF, I'm removing the warning above. If you'd like verification of the page history, any other admin will we able to provide it for you. Thanks Martinp23 09:19, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I do not use a program to place "speedy delete" tags upon pages which need to be deleted. Also, it was about 60 seconds after I placed the tag on the page, and you deleted the page. Maybe my browser runs slower than yours. However, please take into consideration about those factors. Next, time use your mind to determine whether or not a user needs to be "warned" about creating an insufficient page, rather than the person doing the same thing as you are, and wanting to speedy delete the page. Case closed. Thank you! Bearly541 22:55, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again, I know you don't use a program to place speedy tags - I'm not sure if you were saying that in response to my eaarlier comment, but for clarification, I used a program to delete the page you (re)created, which was listed in CAT:CSD. I assure you that it was far longer than a minute after you tagged the page that I deleted it - you tagged and created at 6:55UTC (interestingly, about a minute after the page had been previously deleted) and I deleted at 1045UTC - to say I deleted a minute after you created the page is frankly ludicrous, as I was still asleep then! As I'm sure you appreciate, it's quite hard for me to transmit proof of this to you, as it is all in the admin interface - the deletion times can be seen here and below is pasted the page history (the auto-edit-summary gives an idea what was in the page).

- It would probably seem that you opened the page for editing before the tag was added, and whilst you were editing it, it was deleted (without a tag) by admin Jimfbleak (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). Hi Bearly541, thanks for your suggestion. Perhaps I should also say that it hurts when you try to pet many cacti as you would a dog or a cat... although there are some species that have soft, furry "needles" and not the hard, sharp kind. --Kyoko 15:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I nominated Kalduny for deletion mainly because I couldn't verify anything in the article. Someone has now taken the time to add two references to the article. The article still has problems such as weasel words (E.g. "Some people maintain it came from...") but I am changing my vote to Keep. I thought you might like to know. Johntex\talk 15:58, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I did put a "cleanup" tag on the article because I agree it still needs clean-up even if it is kept. I also detailed problems with the article on its Talk page. As for withdrawing the nomination, I don't think I can do that if there are other "delete" votes. All the delte voters would have to switch to keep for me to withdraw the nomination. Glossary of Basketball Terms
What have I done that is considered vandalism in this? The page has a request for the expansion of the article, so I did that favor, by expanding it. Glossarys don't need to be constructive, it needs to be short, concise so that people understand the basic idea of it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.82.30.39 (talk) 09:35, 10 December 2006 (UTC).

Please use these templates for warning users: Wikipedia:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace#Warnings. They are so much easier than typing out personal messages. BTW: I was rooting for UCLA last week! Go Gators! Bearly541 10:36, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Bah! Evil Bruins fan! In response to your advice, though, I was actually using the NPOV templates (comment2, comment3, etc.) for that revert. I ran across the very page you linked and am playing around with using more specific warning templates during RC Patrol, since I've had complaints from other editors about warning too softly test1 and too harshly test4. It's pretty awkward at this stage but I'm confident I'll come up with a consistent method of warning vandals that is both comprehensive and fair. – Lantoka (talk) 10:41, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Photos and photoshop!
Hi Bearly541. I do use photoshop mainly for things like adjusting brightness, cropping, etc, but I also use other programs as well. A lot of my photos are panoramas, which is where you 'stitch' lots of photos that have some overlap together to make one big image that is more detailed and sometimes wider angle than you could get with a single lens. I'm glad you like my photos anyway! Are you a photographer too? Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 10:55, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
Regarding the article Taras Shevchenko - Corteo, which you tagged for speedy deletion with the reason "it is an article about a person that does not assert the person's importance or significance", I wanted you to know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This article does not qualify for speedy deletion because it says that he was in Cirque du Soleil, which is an assertion of notability. If you still want the article to be deleted, please use the WP:AFD process. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 13:23, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- It needs to be expanded not deleted. Bearly541 23:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Your signature
Hello there, I was wondering if you would please modify your signature to conform to the guidelines laid out at Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages. The general guidelines are that signatures shouldn't contain images, they shouldn't contain unnecessary internal links or any external links, and they shouldn't be unnecessarily long in Wiki source. The reasoning for this final bit is that overly long signatures tend to overwhelm the actual comments in edit mode, making it hard to track down and respond to specific comments. You can fix your signature by removing any images and external links, any unnecessary links (like links to Wikipedian organizations, articles, or subpages in userspace), and removing excessive color, font, and formatting code. Thank you. --Cyde Weys 02:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Cyde. Stifle (talk) 20:37, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Bearly, looks like you're having sig problems! Might I recommend removing links to subpages? Keep the EA link, maybe, but lose the awards subpage (and add a link to it on your userpage). In the meantime, I shortened your sig a little by changing the font tags.
- This is your current sig (370 characters):
<b><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#FF9999;">B</span><span style="color:green;font-family:trebuchet ms;">e</span><span style="color:gold;font-family:trebuchet ms;">a</span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#FF9999;">rly</span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#A6F591;">541</span></b>
- And this is my version (316 characters):
<b><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS"><span style="color:#FF9999;">B</span><span style="color:green;">e</span><span style="color:gold;">a</span><span style="color:#FF9999;">rly</span><span style="color:#A6F591;">541</span></span></b>
- This is my version without a link to your 'awards' subpage (290 characters):
<b><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS"><span style="color:#FF9999;">B</span><span style="color:green;">e</span><span style="color:gold;">a</span><span style="color:#FF9999;">rly</span><span style="color:#A6F591;">541</span></span></b>
- 290 characters is actually still over the limit (WP:SIG likes to see sigs within a 250 char limit), so you might want to keep playing around with it, but those are my recommendations :) I understand if you want to retain your sig, but since it's a Wiki, we gotta make life easier for other people! And long sigs can make it really hard for people who read through diffs, as they clutter up the box and drown out the important stuff. Let me know how it goes! Cheers, riana_dzasta 20:57, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if you took offense Bearly, I was just trying to help - I'd rather hear it from me than some admin with little time, patience or politeness. But that's OK. Cheers, riana_dzasta 02:08, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi Bearly, I was recently experimenting with my signature, and I found that if I create a page with the signature formatting on it (i.e. in my case, user:Lovelaughterlife/Signature/Sub), then create another page (i.e. user:Lovelaughterlife/Signature) and paste the address of the page with the formatting on it (i.e. ) and then take the of that page and put it in the signature field in preferences, then you can have the long signature without the long formatting because it will not SUBST when you sign your name on pages. Hope this helps! -- 21:13, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Do you actually look at the IP edits when you warn people? The person who added nonsense to the encyclopedia was the IP before me. How else was I supposed to phrase it? More people are looking for Jesus than Norman Christ when they search for Christ, so I reordered the disambiguation accordingly. And you just assumed it was vandalism based on an edit summary? Really, I don't think that's a wise methodology. WP:AIV report
Bearly, this is not vandalism, it is a revert war in which you are participating. If there is a POV dispute, take it to the talk page. Even if you are right, that is not an excuse to edit war. Take the dispute to the talk page and work it out. Add a POV tag to the page until it is resolved, if you want, but revert wars solve nothing. Also, AIV is intended for use against fast-moving, simple vandalism, not content disputes. Thanks.--Kchase T 08:28, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- To be frank, blanking month-old warnings on an IP's userpage is not something to worry about. Please continue to report at AIV, but read the instructions there to see why reporting the vandalism you cite won't result in a block.--Kchase T 10:18, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, it is because it keeps track of their "purpose" on Wikipedia. Bearly541 10:20, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by that. Evidence of prior vandalism? Just revert and warn the blanking user. In any case, sorry for yelling at you when the IP is calling you names above. I really do appreciate your counter-vandalism work. I just hate slogging through reports at AIV to find the valid ones.--Kchase T 10:32, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Sure thing. Left a note. As you can see from their block log, they were blocked for 24 hours by User:Woohookitty. Luna Santin 10:39, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Nancy Drew
Ummm, how do you make templates for Nancy Drew stubs? I'm just new at wikipedia, I registered here on August 2006. Could you tell me how? Thanks. -- —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBeatles (talk • contribs)
Article
I'm sorry about the confusion, but I didn't add any new information on that page. I only corrected grammatical errors that I saw while I was reading the article. I'm not sure if it held me responsible for the entire page, but I didn't change anything that would make the information different.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdot01 (talk • contribs)
Re: How is an Admin De-Sysopped?
If the particular admin in question is a member of Category:Administrators open to recall, you can follow that procedure; if not, you'll probably be going through the Arbitration Committee -- be warned, however, that such is a very serious step; if it's still possible to work with this person, it may be easier to make a request for comment regarding the use of their admin tools. Hope that helps -- specific information is a bit lacking, in part because this sort of thing happens fairly rarely. Luna Santin 21:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ah. If rudeness is the issue, I'd recommend trying to resolve things with the admin in question, possibly considering a request for third opinion (if applicable) or a request for comment otherwise. Other than that, the usual steps of dispute resolution should probably work out. Luna Santin 21:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Bearly541: Hi, just here to help. First of all, don't link to a page - link to the diff, like this - and if you're just linking to the page, then wikilink rather than the whole url, like User talk:TheBeatles. If you feel someone has been rude to you, try discussing the matter with them first. Finally, "stalking" is following a user around and editing contrary to them on articles, not an administrator checking contributions of a person who has been giving out incorrect information and inappropriate vandal warnings to innocent editors, and trying to guide the person and mitigate the damage being done with other editors. Ordering me not to check your communications with other users and correct bad information will be ineffective. If there is nothing to correct, then you won't hear a peep from me. Continue ordering newbies to make completely unecessary templates, and similar posts, and either you or the other editor, or both, will hear from me. Simple as that. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. - KillerChihuahua?!? 00:23, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
I've been watching this situation develop and from everything I've seen, KillerChihuahua has been the model of adminly patience with Bearly541, whereas Bearly541 has been a casebook refractory new contributor, taking every opportunity to blow her situation out of proportion and warp every bit of guidance and tutelage into a "personal attack" or "incivilty" worthy of desysopping. So doing is itself a form personal attack, the sort known as "character assassination." Bearly541 should seriously reconsider how she responds to guidance and -gasp!- criticism here and not use it as an opportunity attack others. History here has shown that those contributors who fail to do so usually find themselves the defendants in dispute resolution, rather than the plaintiffs. FeloniousMonk 17:28, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Re: Recent Changes
I belieeeve they refer to the number of characters added or removed in the edit. Bigger numbers would indicate large removals or additions. Luna Santin 00:35, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Bearly541's Holiday Message: Thank you all so much for your Christmas well wishes! I hope you all have a safe and fun Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Love you all!
Christmastemplate
Hey, I noticed your template and thought that you might want to put a name in the "dear" place instead of "anonymous user". You could put in the code: BASEPAGENAME
(base page name). This will cause the userpage name to appear. Like if I put it right here, Bearly541 would appear (it's there with the template, you can look). If you knew this and just didn't want to put it, then okay. It's just a little FYI. Merry Christmas. :) Cbrown1023 01:11, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Well I received a message from you first asking me not to post nonsense on articles. I'm not sure what happened though, but I guess it doesn't matter now. Jdot01 20:02, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Jdot01
quick thanks
Hi there, just a quick thanks for the greeting, and I'm sorry that I didn't leave a fancier message on your talk page. I had left those on the talk pages who have been particularly helpful to me or E@L, that's why, no disrespect intended. Well, gotta get going, Happy Holidays! --Kyoko 22:55, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thank you for the Christmas wishes, I also wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a delightful new year. Also on your userpage you can type __NOTOC__ and that will get rid of the table of contents. Cheers! — Seadog_MS 15:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry
Hi Bearly541, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by not leaving a message like this. E@L, Elaragirl, and Itsmejudith have been particularly helpful to me, both on and off wiki, and again, I meant no disrespect. Furthermore, I wanted to send some extra support to the first two people because they are going through some very hard times right now. I think Elaragirl is having a particularly hard time, just see her userpage.I haven't forgotten that you supported both E@L and myself, and for that, I thank you very much. Thanks also for the Santa card. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish you weren't having troubles on Wikipedia, too many users go unappreciated, and your contributions are valuable. Again, I'm very sorry for neglecting you. --Kyoko 15:30, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
yes, I'm on vacation
Hi there, yes, I'm on vacation, and at this rate, I'll never get to my parents in time for Christmas! I've never driven so far before trying to get from one place to another, and I still have a long, long ways to go. Speaking of which, I really should be getting back on the road. If I don't catch you before then, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! --Kyoko 15:40, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Bearly. I'm not quite sure what you meant, but if I'm right, I think I'd sell mine for...oh, maybe ¥7,250,000 if it was a Z06. As for the normal ones, I still like those, but not as much as the Z06, so maybe I'd do it for ¥500,000. I probably misunderstood you, so feel free to correct me on my talk page :) The RSJ ¿Qué? 16:19, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Do you like comic violence? Edit this section and replace the "unanswered" in the template with "yes" or "no" (without quotations). Oh, and please do not subst this template, or else it will be a huge mound of code.

re:Bots making Userboxes Corrections
Honestly, I haven't even looked at that bot task since last summer. Those userboxes are listed in Category:Wikipedia GUS userboxes, where they were (at one time) moved by bots. Whenever I did the task, it was incredibly tedious. A lot of users actually accused Alphachimpbot of vandalizing their userpage. I'll take a look at it today. It looks like quite a backlog has built up... alphachimp. 19:07, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I changed the name slightly, so I can remember it (, like the old one). But what differance does it make if it's in userspace? Is that why the old one is going to get deleted? | AndonicO Talk | Sign Here 19:36, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Can you please leave a message that the user has been blocked indefinately on user's pages which have been blocked? And, I am just curious, what if an admin uses his/her power inappropriately? How and what actions can be taken to take away admin powers? Thanks. Bearly541 13:04, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have just done so - I wanted to leave a personal message rather than the template one. The block notice you left has a wrong timestamp - did you c&p or is one of the servers up the creek again?.
- Inappropriate actions - normally the usual process of RfC and ArbCom. In particular bad cases a steward will emergency de-sysop to prevent further damage. But most inappropriate actions are done in good faith and making an admin aware what and how he has made a mistake, so that he could either correct it or refrain from repeating it. - Copy/paste and server. I don't have the nifty Admin tools like you do. :-) Bearly541 13:19, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Please assume good faith
While writing a perfectly reasonable message of my own on the CSD talk page, it seems I somehow accidently removed some other messages by mistake and without knowing. I'm sorry about this and don't know how this happened but I wish you hadn't left a message on my talk page which 1) assumed I was a malicious vandal 2) did not even point out the problem, leaving me baffled. You also removed my own reasonable message (perhaps you didn't even see it) - which ironically was related to my own anti-vandalism efforts. I appreciate your own anti-vandalism efforts, but I feel your message to me was too strongly worded. Thanks Bwithh 02:18, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Our dear friend
I can semi-protect any or all of those pages, and if you think one needs it, just let me know and I'll do it. But I'm trying to be conservative - if he hits a page twice, I'll semi-protect. Semi-protection isn't fair to other anonymous editors, so I don't want to use it unless we have to. My guess is that he's a college student on vacation with time to kill, so perhaps in a few weeks he'll buzz off again. | Mr. Darcy talk 02:43, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Why was the link removed? (Kappa Alpha Psi)
[3] was the citation not proper? [4]
- Before I respond, I would like to note that this remark was made by a sockpuppet of NinjaNubian/MyKungfu/StrangeApples/GrandWizard/GrandChimp, etc. Second, I removed the link, because the statement was made by the organization directly and not by a reliable or independent organization. Re: Recent death template
That's a good question! I'd thought about using the term "passed away", but eventually decided against it. Wikipedia tends to avoid euphemistic terms like "passed away" or "went to a better place". You'll notice that Category:2007 deaths, for example, is not called "People who passed away in 2007". szyslak (t, c) 03:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- The template is at Recent death. Personally, I'm not seeing the connection between current events and autobiographical articles. What's the purpose of this template you want to create? There is already a dispute template about autobiography articles, at autobiography. szyslak (t, c) 22:21, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed you asked Pilotguy to delete AUTO. I figure we could just redirect it to autobiography, so deletion wouldn't be necessary. So I'll go ahead and do that, but if you decide later that you think we should keep AUTO as it is, feel free to revert my changes. szyslak (t, c) 02:19, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry, my mistake.
But, I accidentally logged into my old account (Peteg9130) which was deleted (or at least locked), and after your message, I read: "If you think it needs fixing, then jump in.
