Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello, Axelve, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world! To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has 1,431,305 articles! But we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Also, don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! It might be a good idea to read this to see how you can avoid making common mistakes, though.

Just to give you a really basic overview so you don't make any mistakes early:

  1. Wikipedia keeps a neutral point of view policy, meaning that all contributions must not be biased one way or the other. Even if both biases are presented, it is still not allowed on Wikipedia.
  2. Only public domain resources can be copied directly to Wikipedia without permission — this does not include most web pages.
  3. Be bold! In my opinion, this may be Wikipedia's most important policy. Go ahead and edit a page! Don't worry about "ruining" other's work, this is a wiki! (Of course, major changes should probably be proposed on talk pages to achieve consensus, but don't be scared!)

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please always sign your name on talk pages (but not articles!) using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the time and date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! —Mets501 (talk) 23:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. You use some characters in the beginning of your signature that don't show up in Firefox or Internet Experor for me, and most likely for others. You might want to consider changing it. —Mets501 (talk) 23:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question for Axelve

[edit]

Hey, sorry to bother you, but did you go to Sjolunden last year by chance? Just wondering- I've noticed you've done a couple of edits to the Sjolunden Wiki, as have I. They say curiosity killed the cat, but...why not ask.
-User:FlyingWookieeofDoom

Oh, seems like I read the question but forgot to answer. Since you went to Sjölunden, I'll just answer in Swedish, then:
Jag var ledare på Sjölunden i år, 2006, så jag var inte där förra året om det var det du undrade. Jag tyckte det behövdes en artikel om Sjölunden, men jag har inte så stor koll på Sjölundens historia och en del annat. Men som den är nu är den bättre än de andra CLV-sidorna, tycker jag. Förstår du? :D Axelve 14:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Crap. Um...now I have to think... let's see if I can translate it without using a translator. You were a leader at Sjölunden in 2006, and you were not there before? Umm... something about you don't have something about Sjölunden's history and some more? But something is something something CLV you like? And to answer your last question? Barely- I've only been there once, as a two-weeker, but I'm planning as going as a credit next year. Or is it this year? It depends on when you read this, I suppose. FlyingWookieeofDoom 12/14/06
Well done, you know your Swedish! It's correct I was a leader in 2006, but not the year before that (förra året), if that's what you meant by "last year". Yada yada yada, and you'll eventually learn the rest. Yeah, go as a credit student. Swedish is a great language! Axelve 20:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to keep bothering you, but I recieved the CLV packet in the mail last week, and was blown away by the pricing for the Credit camp. With all our family's hospital bills this year, it's a bit of a stretch. Do you know any program that offers scholarships? FlyingWookieeofDoom
I do believe that I'm the wrong person to ask, the dean of Sjölunden would probably give you better answers. But I know American-Swedish Institute will give you some just by becoming a member, and there's an official scholarship list at the CLV site. That ought to be a start. Good luck! Väg till gå, Axel. Making me feel all stupid trying to figure out who you were. Although, the fact that I didn't realize it sooner is kinda pathetic on my part. Jag hoppa alla är bra för dig! Stenkil representera! -Freja FlyingWookieeofDoom 15:11, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hej, en annan från Sjölunden

Barcelona

[edit]

Hi there, I was reading the entry about La Ribera quarter of Barcelona (where I`m currently living) and I noticed something interesting about the picture that is posted with the entry (which I think you posted?): I`m sure it`s not only taken from my apartment, but also my bedroom! Did you by chance live here when the picture was taken? Or perhaps you got the picture from another source that did? Just curious where the picture came from to satisfy some curiosity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daryjessome (talkcontribs) 10:49, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Umm, I moved your Q down here, hope its ok. Yup, I took that picture and I lived in that apartment for four months last year, but eventually moved a couple of blocks away to Plaça Sant Jaume after a short stop in Grácia. The new apartment even had a better view, this pic taken from my bedroom window: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Plaça_de_Sant_Jaume.jpg . Now I'm back in Sweden though. La Ribera really is a nice area in Barcelona, hope you'll like it. Axelv (talk) 22:02, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
