Well done :), you keep beating me to the revert on Huggle. However, please could you remember to warn vandals as well? Thanks, Acather96 (talk) 20:05, 13 October 2010 (UTC) |
- Hi thanks, ok i'll warn sometimes next time. I think we just should beat the vandals and not each other. So off now. sincere regards --Avoided (talk) 20:11, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- A progression of warnings helps deter future vandalism, because it shows the vandal that their actions are being monitored and that they will be blocked if they continue. If you are serious about vandal-fighting, please remember to leave a warning every time you revert another user for vandalism. Thanks - Pointillist (talk) 23:50, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

A request
[edit]Thanks for your help on recent changes. It would help identify the repeat vandals if you would issue warnings when you make a reversion. It is certainly a discretionary action, but it would make it easier on the admins to identify those individuals that simply aren't changing their behavior. Thanks Tiderolls 23:52, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Poker Face (Lady Gaga song), did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. Talktome(Intelati) 00:54, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Warnings
[edit]Hello there, just came across you on vandal patrol. You do some great work. But do you never think of actually warning the vandals? T'would be most helpful. :) Orphan Wiki 23:50, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. Four warnings are required for the vandal to be blocked. You are already using Huggle, so warning is simple and takes no extra time. Thanks. --Diannaa (Talk) 01:35, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Just to say that Avoided (talk · contribs) has issued 117 warnings since we requested it just before midnight UTC, so I think we are OK on that now. BTW, four warnings aren't actually required. For example, when there isn't any possibility that an edit was made in good faith—e.g. if it is just filthy language or garbage like "fdsjfgkdjsaTgyehsjekghsikebdhjxztkegfv"—it is OK to start with a level two warning. When an account re-commences obvious vandalism very shortly after a block expires, you can start with level three or higher. If an account has vandalised many articles in a very short space of time and is still active, you can leave a "immediate" ({{uw-vandal4im}}) warning and get ready to go straight to WP:AIV. It is all about minimising harm to the encyclopedia. - Pointillist (talk) 13:32, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:47, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

3rr warning
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --John (talk) 01:55, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Discussion page for Port of Southampton
[edit]On the discussion page for the Port of Southampton, you reverted to a previous version that essentially deleted my comment about the "travel brochure" writing style in some sections. However the revisions that I made to the actual article were not reverted. I don't understand how a comment on the talk page is so bad it has to be reverted but there's no problem with changes to the page itself. It's very disheartening to make a good-faith attempt to improve an article only to see it classified as vandalism. Can you explain how you came to your conclusion? Completely new abortion proposal and mediation
[edit]In light of the seemingly endless disputes over their respective titles, a neutral mediator has crafted a proposal to rename the two major abortion articles (pro-life/anti-abortion movement, and pro-choice/abortion rights movement) to completely new names. The idea, which is located here, is currently open for opinions. As you have been a contributor in the past to at least one of the articles, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
The hope is that, if a consensus can be reached on the article titles, the energy that has been spent debating the titles of the articles here and here can be better spent giving both articles some much needed improvement to their content. Please take some time to read the proposal and weigh in on the matter. Even if your opinion is simple indifference, that opinion would be valuable to have posted.
To avoid concerns that this notice might violate WP:CANVASS, this posting is being made to every non-anon editor who has edited either page (or either page's respective talk page) since 1 July 2010, irrespective of possible previous participation at the mediation page. XVirus: Hi Avoided. This is about Mindmatrix
[edit]Hi I know that was not a good Idea for deleting Mindmatrix page but no one respond to me. I need help. I found a new way for reading a hierarchical structure using a single loop (solving P versus NP problem) but I cannot publish it over the net because it is so dangerous. It can be used for controlled nuclear chain reactions too and cause of that I cannot publish it over the net. I found this solution on 2009 but until now, I did not talk about it with anyone because I am afraid of results. I am leaving in Iran and therefore, I cannot publish it until solving problems between Iran and America. I need some advice and help. This is very important. By using my method, you can read a huge hierarchical structure very fast (It will not work very fast on small structures). I solve it using quantum mechanic laws and relativity. Many theories used in this structure like black holes, black material, dark energy etc. Cause of these problems finally I edit P versus NP problem page and I wrote that I solved this problem on 2009 but everyone delete my comment and no one helped me. I'm a system analyst but I didn’t have any academic degrees and cause of that everyone think I'm lying and no one want to hear my voice in my country cause of my education level. If you can help me please send me an email on XVirus@Outlook.com or XVirus@Wikipedia. I cannot publish my name because I cannot trust anyone and I believe that you can understand my situation. If you can help me please do this and If not please do not delete my comment on P versus NP problem page. :)

Yes. I know this law and that was not a good response from me, but I can trust some Wikipedia users like you that want to help people. I believe that some Wikipedia users think like me and only thing I need is help for a solution about how I can describe this. I am under a big pressure and I cannot hide it anymore. I cannot trust anyone because this is very important. My reaction to that user was because of his/her reaction to me. You are helping me but he/she did not care about this and only thing that he can do is deleting something (I read other user's comments). — Preceding unsigned comment added by XVirus (talk • contribs) 15:26, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Please be more careful
[edit]Hi... Can you tell me why you reverted this edit? I've undone the previous vandalism again. Best regards Storkk (talk) 14:49, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hey. I'm as careful as I can be, but excuse me. I don't know how this happened. Maybe it's due to lag. Maybe I have not realized which edit I was reverting. But try it out yourself checking all the hundred different edits per minute of IPs via WP:Huggle and without making a single mistake. It happens, but its still rare though, and often I realize and undo the mistake afterwards. --Avoided (talk) 15:00, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- No worries, your enthusiasm is commendable, and it wasn't a huge deal - I just thought you might be glazing over a little at the helm of Huggle, and might benefit from a gentle reminder that thoroughness in checking what is or isn't vandalism is always appreciated by fellow editors. - Thank you. Maybe I sounded a bit disenchanted but reminders are welcome and important if something has gone wrong. I hate making mistakes and carelessness. It really wears me out sometimes. regards, Avoided (talk) 16:29, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

[edit]These estimates are not correct, there are around 147 000 gypsies in Serbia, and serbian censuse poll is the best and the only source a Wikipedia should use, when it comes to population of Serbia.
