Renaming yourself on various Wikis

[edit]

On the wikis which support it, a bureaucrat can rename you and you'll retain your edit history. It's too late on Wikinews as you've already created the username you wish to move to, but for future reference, please see Wikinews:Changing username. --Chiacomo talk 06:13, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Decimal separator

Iran is neither a dot country nor a coma country. Nor is Saudi Arabia, and the other arabic countries. It is a mistake in the document text, and I've added a note in that article's talk page. I should thank you for paying attention to the matter and notifying me (although I'm not sure how you've found me!) hujiTALK 18:39, 4 May 2006 (UTC) (contact me on my talk page)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Omar Shaick

[edit]

I've nominated the article Omar Shaick for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Omar Shaick satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Omar Shaick. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Omar Shaick during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Image source problem with Image:BushHeritageAustralia logo vertical.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:BushHeritageAustralia logo vertical.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:16, 15 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. WikiProject Brisbane

[edit]

Just a reminder that WikiProject Brisbane needs your help. There have been a number of changes to the project page over recent days and I hope you could spare some time to take a look, be bold and add some touches yourself.

There is plenty that needs to be done to get more Brisbane articles up to FA standard. Please come and discuss this and lets see if we can build up this project.

Wikimedians to the Games

[edit]

I'd like to invite you to participate Wikimedians to the Games :) It is a great opportunity to help improve Australian related content, and potentially to travel to attend the second biggest sporting event of the year. As you're an existing Wikipedian editor, you should have some advantage because you should know how to contribute and improve articles already. :) If you get to a certain point threshold, there is also a possiblity to travel to Canberra to attend a workshop at the Australian Institute of Sport. --LauraHale (talk) 09:50, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
