Blocked

[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Ian.thomson (talk) 10:01, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

was not aware about user name policy

Decline reason:

You have addressed only the username issue, not the more important issue of the nature of your editing. You need to address both issues in order to be unblocked. You are not going to be unblocked in order to let you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising or marketing. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 18:39, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd initially declined this since I thought that your username was the name of a company (ie, "Krunal Digital Marketing"), however a second glance shows that you're likely posting your first name and then the name of the company. If this is the case it's better to phrase it like "Krunal at Digital Marketing" so that there's no ambiguity.
Offhand I don't have any huge problem with unblocking you. You are a marketing person and the AfC draft was promotional, however the fact that you tried making this at AfC instead of going directly live and you sought out advice at least twice does show that you were trying to edit within guidelines. You just need to be more careful with editing, something that can be difficult when you're more used to writing marketing prose, as most marketers are so used to writing promotionally that they don't pick up on what is promotional or might have issues.
An example of the promotional content would be the use of "we" and "I". Wikipedia articles are written about the topic and not by them, so the article should be written in the third person. (ie, "Pepsi Cola is an American soda company" rather than "We are an American soda company") You should also avoid marketing WP:BUZZWORDS like "inspired", "vision of", and "prestigious". Going into too much detail about something seen as relatively minor on Wikipedia can also be promotional, so try to see if something can be summed up in 2-4 sentences rather than 2-4 paragraphs. Of course not everything should be summed up so briefly, but most things can be on here since this is supposed to be an overview rather than an exhaustive report. A tag has been placed on Draft:Au Financiers (India) Limited, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the three important principles above. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:00, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
