Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Wifione ....... Leave a message 18:33, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. — Dabomb87 (talk) 22:20, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Migdia

Hi Alarob -- someone eviscerated my Wikipedia page so now it reads embarassingly in what it implies. Here it is http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Migdia_Chinea_Varela Kind regards and many good wishes --Mig (talk) 01:33, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Byllying

Please Alarob -- go here -- Wikipedia women are expressing concerns about the male-dominated attitude on Wikipedia and if you take a look at the entries in my page, you can see it.

This kind editor http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Cloveapple#migdia_chinea is doing an edit and he's thoughtful and wishes to be fair. I've submitted a lot of material to his page.

But there are some rather vituperative people here than intimidate anyone who doesn't go along with their wishes and bully them -- please, take a look.

Thanx --Mig (talk) 17:47, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia Education Program

Hi, Rob! Another Foundation staff member saw your post on IRC earlier today about interest in joining our project for next semester. She was unavailable at the time and did not see it until you had logged off. Can you please email me, and I can give you more information? jmathewson@wikimedia.org Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you. JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 01:27, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

I emailed you and got an error message: "DNS Error: Domain name not found" — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 05:42, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Er, never mind. My mistake. You should have an email from me. — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 05:46, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

The article Avinash Sachdev has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. CharlieDelta (talk) 18:08, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Don't pull the trigger just yet. I started the article in response to an article request after a previous effort was deleted as a copyvio. I know nothing specific about Indian "soapies" but did some research in a library database, turning up articles from the Times of India, New Straits Times, and similar papers. This actor is certainly notable. Give me a few days to read the articles and write him up. If I don't get to it by the deadline, I'd appreciate an extension if you remember. — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 23:18, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi! Can I suggest you post a copy of your comment above on the article talk page? That way it will be seen by other editors and the reviewing admin. And you only need to find one reliable source by 2 Jan in order to remove the proposed deletion tag yourself. If he is as notable as you say, that should not be difficult.--CharlieDelta (talk) 00:17, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Well done for expanding the article and finding the references! I've removed the proposed deletion template.--CharlieDelta (talk) 08:56, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Benjamin F. Porter, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page State penitentiary (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

"Properties alert"

Rob, your email account has been hacked. Or you're a spammer! Roll Tide, ;) Drmies (talk) 13:31, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Which reminds me: it seems to me that I owe you an email in response from a while ago. If that's true, please remind me--and please accept my apologies. We've had busy, busy months here at the new and improved Drmies residence. Drmies (talk) 13:33, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Sorry about the spam. I'm afraid that may be a consequence of my sharing my address with hundreds of college students, several of whom are naive about online security. I've received quite a lot of spam originating from their addresses, and I assume their address books have been mined for more addresses to spoof with, including mine. It took six weeks for the college to issue me an address in the campus domain, so many of my students reached me through the same address I use on Wikipedia.
I would be delighted to have a new email from you. But you do realize I attend Auburn, not that <gesturing vaguely toward northeast> crimson institution, don’t you? — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 14:56, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
You're forgiven on both counts. You, in turn, know fully well that I receive my paycheck from an ag school located almost in Georgia. I'll get in touch when I'm done wikiing off and compiling my final grades--consummatum almost est. Drmies (talk) 15:07, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Greetings. You recently made the following edits to Frederica. In so doing, you removed the intentional disambiguation links mandated by policy at WP:INTDABLINK. This policy mandates that intentional links to disambiguation pages be routed through the corresponding "Foo (disambiguation)" redirect, so that these links do not show up as errors needing to be fixed, and so that readers will be alerted to the fact that the link is taking them to a disambiguation page as opposed to a regular article. Please make sure that any intentional links to disambiguation pages are linked in this way. Cheers! bd2412 T 15:24, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Well, for the love of mercy. I didn't know about that policy. Thanks for educating me.
The pages I linked to had each been moved from "NN (disambiguation)" to "NN". Is this part of the problem? Should they be moved back? — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 19:01, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Nope. Page naming and page linking are two different issues. Page naming is all about the WP:Primary topic; if there is no primary topic (for a term like battery or seal, or a common name like Alex Smith), then the disambiguation page absolutely should sit at that title. However, intentional links to those pages should be piped through battery (disambiguation), seal (disambiguation), and Alex Smith (disambiguation). I doubt that Frederica has a primary topic. Cheers! bd2412 T 19:18, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Still interested in Mvskoke / Creek ?

Hi Alarob, are you still interested in Mvskoke / Creek? A few of us have been working at getting Native American languages going at Incubator. There's a nice new home page for Mvskoke, some more articles, and an Creek online dictionary now ... We really need more people to get the initial pages established-- just putting up a few pages with a word, an image, and the en: wikilink can make a big difference. (You can use the similar pages in other Native American wikis as a quick template, and cut and paste.)

Even small efforts here have an impact, so join in if you have a chance! Djembayz (talk) 21:46, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Hooray! Delighted to find someone who's interested. Tagged the Malay page as you requested for one of the Small Wiki folks to remove. My experience in Incubator is that once you start adding content, other people come in and work on the details. Naturally it would be great to have native speakers instantly writing comprehensive articles, but you also need people willing to put up the basic pages, and get the initial structure of categories and interwiki links in place. One tip, it can be quicker to look in one of the other wikis rather than searching for images in Commons. The Shoshoni wiki has some especially nice images for basic illustrations. Feel free to ask questions, and let me know if I can help. Djembayz (talk) 12:51, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
