Hello! On Wikipedia, I spend most of my time patrolling recent changes. If, while doing so, you believe I have made a mistake, please note:
  • I am only human, I sometimes make mistakes. Edits I revert, I generally revert as they appear to be vandalism of some sort. If you believe I have made a mistake, just undo my edit, and leave me a message pointing it out to me here. Please don't leave me a template message, if I've made a bad edit, chances are it was a mistake. And, if I have reverted your edit, whether vandalism or a mistake, please don't abuse me with vandalism here. It will be quickly reverted.
  • I am not here everyday. If you leave me a message and I don't respond immediately, don't panic! I will get back to you the next time I am online and see your message.

Welcome!

Hello, Uncle Milty, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! The change I made was a result of needing to correct information that is wrong. YC Magazine is not part of The Herald. It is a seperate publication. My intent was to correct the information in a positive manner rather than simply deleting reference to YC Magazine. Please let me know if I should make the changes again or delete reference to YC Magazine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Btcrook (talkcontribs) 15:40, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see what you mean. Looked to me like a grammar problem with the sentence, so I have fixed it (I think)and I don't think any implications remain. Your addition of the promotional phrase "with entertainingly informative content" is what caught my eye originally, and is why I reverted your edit. Also, external links in the text of an article are generally frowned upon: WP:ELPOINTS. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 15:59, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heads up -

Hi - someone may have told you this before, but just a heads up: you should be waiting more than a few seconds before tagging articles with A1 or A3, as you did in Pasco banks. I've heard on multiple occasions, that 5 minutes is a good limit on when you can tag pages with these templates. Cheers! ∙:∙:.:pepper:.:∙:∙ 17:21, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Kdjgoeghs, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot NG.

ClueBot NG was wrong, and has major problems. In this case it auto-reverted my tagging the article with a CSD G3. That should never be reverted by a bot. Of course, the article was deleted as tagged so the diff is now gone. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 15:15, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Christians in Guinea-Bissau

Hello: I just saw you changed the wording in my addition to the Guinea-B article, on the Christan minority. For two reasons, I think you are wrong there. First, as the article says in the part on religion, Christians represent an estimated 10%, which is not really "small". Second, this minority has a social (political, cultural) importance well beyond its numbers, especially because their educational level is (on average) considerably higher than that of the other religious groups. This is why I wrote "important minority", and I still think this is the appropriate wording. -- Aflis (talk) 18:55, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for undoing the vandalism on the United States congressional delegations from California page to my previous edits.--SargentIV (talk) 19:29, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hello Milty

As you have realised i have edited some information today, just by adding a couple of middle names. Just So you know i recently found out from a friend that any content on this website can be changed in anyway!!! Much to my disbelieve. I just couldn't sit back and not change something could i, i wanted to see if it actually worked!

Can i ask... If i continue to change information can i get in trouble for this? This is such a strange website, why would you make it that anybody can change things??

And just for the record i wont change anything else ok... just having a play. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vauxhallketchup (talkcontribs) 13:26, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

John Fell (drummer) edit reverted

The article on John Fell (drummer) cites the year of his birth incorrectly. What is the appropriate procedure for having it changed? I am his sister, and I hate to see him unduly aged. His correct birth year is 1962. Please let me know what we need to do. Thank you. Klutitude (talk) 15:51, 21 November 2010 (UTC) Klutitude Klutitude (talk) 15:51, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User talk:Jahirzinho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. | Uncle Milty | talk | 15:48, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I declined this speedy because I don't think the proto-article in user space is unambiguously advertising. However I have warned the user not to remove CSD templates in future, and to proceed carefully as there is an obvious COI issue here. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 22:21, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
