Jack Johnson

I thought Mr. Jack Johnson himself would be a most verifiable source. KINK radio in Portland, Oregon was giving away tickets each day to an upcoming concert and one of the trivia questions was Jack Johnson's middle name. I was unable to find it with ease. The next morning (cited in a previous explanation) Jack Johnson called into the station to talk about his music and his upcoming concert in Bend, Oregon in August. One of the questions Sheila Hamilton (the station's News Director) asked him about was the origin of his middle name as it was so unusual. He said it was Hody, not to be confused with hobie, as both are types of boats. He said he father chose the name Hody and it was his nickname throughout his growing up years. I don't think it could be any more clear or accurate - I'm not sure why this isn't an appropriate verification.

Hello Materialscientist, I am a new user to wikipedia, a matter which I remove the material because raising a case and slung it with religious figures (Jesus). Yemen

The grammar in the Yemen article may not be perfect i do not know, but the reason i reverted their edits was because they removed properly cited information simply because they did not like them. I do not want to talk them anymore but just so I and them don't go in a war edit, please watch the page or edit grammar yourself.--يوسف حسين (talk) 08:13, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Materialscientist, in the SPI it appears that an IP you blocked registered an account and began editing during the block period. Do you think the account should be blocked or would a warning not to continue the behavior that led to the block be enough? Mark Arsten (talk) 19:41, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Keystone Pipeline - Alternative Projects (Section 6.2)

Sorry for not having better way of citing the / my addition (To Keystone Pipeline). This addition could fit within several areas, Geopolitical / Economic / etc, etc. of this article as essence from distilling sources/research from and since (my) 1985. {On any regular basis, I am no longer such a researcher and find it hard to list much that went into this addition}.

Thank you for your efforts & consideration. Respectfully, Craig

DYK updates during the current DYKUpdateBot outage

As you seem to be the only other admin who knows how to perform a manual update of a DYK set, could I ask you to keep an eye on things for a little bit. I expect to be away from my computer for the next update, currently scheduled for 00:30 (UTC), but should be available a half-hour or hour later in case DYKUpdateBot is not back up and you are unable to perform an update. The 08:00(ish) update can also pose a problem as it falls in the middle of the night for me. If Shubinator‎ has not restarted the bot by then, I should be available for the 16:00(UTC) update and anticipate being available for the next 00:00 update if needed. Thanks, --Allen3 talk 23:30, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll keep an eye on it for the next 14 hours or so. (I often miss the bot's outage due to distractions). Materialscientist (talk) 23:33, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hello, Thank you, I received an e-mail from you, I suppose I have to reply here. The quotes from my change to Lonnie Mack Wikipedia page can be found on several articles and interviews, from the last 4 deacades, and come from: Paul Rotchild, Bruce Botnick and The Doors. Plus, as final proof the official SACD and DVD-Audio vocal separate track of Jim Morrison's Roadhouse Blues clearly says: "Do it Robby, do it!". No mistake. No way it could be heard saying: "Do it Lonnie, do it". Finally, all the guitar solos from the previous recording sessions played by Robby Krieger are identical to the final one. Lonnie Mack played only bass on Roadhouse Blues and there are no proofs or quotes that could ever prove that Lonnie Mack could have played the official guitar solo, because he simply did not and this is proven. Thank you for you kind attention, best regards. Alra — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alra1975 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2009 Bollywood Movies Edit

Hi, I am Mahendra from UK and I edited the article on 2009 Bollywood movies because there were few mistakes with the page however I was to I didn't provide reliable source. It is false as the data on the box office collection is false it self so leave the page alone after I edit it and don't remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.11.199.11 (talk) 03:19, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect

As minuscule my change to the List of Danny Phantom Episodes page may have been, it was correct. It is not an "info map" but an "Infi-map" such as Infinity map. The information on the page is incorrect so I ask that you please change it to the correct form as I was attempting to do. Admittedly the other edits were unnecessary, but this one (that I attempted twice) fixes some information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.28.228.187 (talk) 04:29, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Possible return of Wikinger

I'd like your opinion on this one. I'd say it's Wikinger, but it seems perhaps a bit too blatantly obvious. Are there any puppeteers known for impersonating that one?

Special:Contributions/87.205.80.172 is leaving some rather... strange edit summaries. The fact that they know about LTA makes it highly likely that they're someone's IP-sock, quite possibly of someone who has their own LTA page. Looks to me like they might be Wikinger because their IP is Polish, the majority of their edits are to Greek articles, Wikinger is one of the names mentioned in their edit summaries (and the majority of other names mentioned do not actually seem to exist) and they are mimicking an unblock request on an IP's talkpage, with as "reason" a link to a youtube-video called Wiki-Wiki-Wikinger. Pretty much Wikinger's MO, as far as I can gather. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 11:47, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I haven't dealt with Wikinger, as far as I recall (might have crossed momentarily via something). Materialscientist (talk) 12:09, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, alright. Mainly asked you because you were one of the few online admins at the time. Looks like the range has been hit by a rangeblock courtesy of Future Perfect at Sunrise as range used by Wikinger in the mean time, so it looks like I was right and it has been dealt with. Electron beam deposition diagram

Hi MS,

I've taken a request from the Graphics Lab in vectorizing your EBID figure. While I am a chemist/illustrator by training, EBID is out of my realm of expertise. If I were to add more details to make the figure more illustrative of the process to a lay-person (lay-chemist?), what would be your recommendations?

Jon

The image is very primitive and was created as a quick patch. Molecules could look closer to carbon monoxide and iron carbonyl (any other carbonyl of a transition metal will do - unfortunately for drawing, they all tend to have 5 or more CO groups). Ask me any question if you have ideas on enriching the graphics, but are not sure about their scientific accuracy. Materialscientist (talk) 03:37, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove the confusing tag from the P–n junction article?

Jangirke (talk) 05:13, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the tag, it requires the tagger to elaborate the problem on the article talk page. This prevents indiscriminate tagging. Materialscientist (talk) 06:44, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image question

Hi, can I get your Commons administrative opinion on the file Lucy Rossetti 1874 gemalt von Rossetti.jpg on German Wikipedia? This is a work by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who died in 1882, so it's obvious to me that the work is public domain. But the page says in bold: Do not transfer this file to Wikimedia Commons without an individual review! Does what I just wrote count as "an individual review"? If I'm correct that this can be transfered to Commons, is it just copied there while leaving the existing one intact, or would the German one then get deleted? Thanks.

BTW, I apologize. Judging from the posts above, it appears that I have failed to conform to the standard practice on your talk page of writing in all caps and using a long string of repeated punctuation. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 10:32, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

People post all kind of ramblings here. The image seems fine. That scary template is just a template that holds little meaning. It is made scary because German copyright laws differ from American, and thus many de.wiki images may not be hosted on Commons (even not considering obvious reasons like URAA). Hello, we recently discovered your updates here http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=John_Cunliffe_(author)&diff=594351509&oldid=594351004 and would like to thank you for your help.

I am John Cunliffe's son, so the updates (made by one of my son's ex-friends) were rather disturbing.

Wikipedia says the IP address used (which relates to the school my son attends) is blocked, is that something you have done? Is there a way of making it permanent?

AfC submission about stress in solids

Hello, I deduced from your username that you might be knowledgeable on the topic of material science.

There is an AfC submission Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Objective Stress Rates in Finite Strain of Inelastic Solids which has been rejected once and that the creator is asking about. It has been waiting for re-review for a long time, probably because there are few reviewers able to assess the material confidently.

I wonder if you could take a look at it and offer any advice on whether the topic is notable, whether the submission is salvageable as an article, and so on.

Many thanks. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 16:21, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You yourself added that text to the policy page without any discussion, therefore it is void. Furthermore, even if there was an actual policy like that, it would still be void. MustacheMosque (talk) 22:28, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Systematic vandalism of film articles

Hello, I have seen you around quite a bit while doing vandalism patrol, and have found a situation that is a bit challenging to deal with. We have an IP editor with a dynamic (with a small range) IP who is making subtle cast changes to film articles. I have checked out dozens of these changes, and they are almost always bogus. If you check this history of the IP's you can see what I mean. Since he or she chooses new targets and comes from a different IP it is hard to keep on top of this. Any suggestion would be appreciated, as to me this is the worst kind of vandalism - deep, subtle and hard to detect.

Texistepec Language

Hi Material Scientist - I am a student currently researching the Texistepec Language for a semester long project in a Linguistics class. The class assignment is to provide weekly updates to the wiki-pages of our individually selected languages. I have been using peer-reviewed sources, making (I thought) the proper citations. The first edits I accomplished seem to be left alone. I'm trying to figure out why you deleted my entire entry for 15 Feb. 2014. I have checked and validated my sources and used the same sources Referenced in the back of published peer-reviewed books and articles on this language. Enormous, erroneous IP block

Why on earth would you block 1,024 IP adresses in order to catch an open proxy? x is a frankly ridiculously large block, and among other things catches Xs CLOSED, pay only Sydney anonymising server x, their only server in Sydney - aka X (so you can confirm it is that IP) as listed here X Closed VPNS and Proxies are ENCOURAGED and the more secure data on the net the better for everyone, so please unblock this, and if possible check you haven't blocked any of their other 200 servers. Deepak harshal nagle

Dear Materialscientist, you told me my editing about actinides was wrong. But actinium is not an actinide as it do not have valence shell-f, instead of 'f' it have last valence shell 'd'. Hence, it is transition metal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deepak harshal nagle (talkcontribs) 07:55, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Same for Th and Lu - presence of incomplete f shell is not required for an actinide, and vice versa, elements with incomplete f shell are not always actinides (e.g. many lanthanides have an incomplete f shell). Materialscientist (talk) 08:10, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I went to his page and found that he had been given a level 1 warning two times and a level 3 warning 1 time (I gave him a final warning). I fell that as I am rather, a newbie, That I bring this to the attention of someone who is better and more experienced at Dealing with situations like these.

thought I would point out that a quick RDNS this is a static Verizon FiOS address in Philadelphia, and that that the FiOS TOCs include this AUP https://my.verizon.com/central/vzc.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=vzc_help_policies&id=AcceptableUse which is pretty clear in saying that sort of behaviour is unacceptable. My guess it is some kid on mum and dads connection, so a call from the phone company ought to scare the hell out of em. I STRONGLY encourage, nay beg of you to report this behavior which pretty clearly breaches (h) engage in any conduct harmful to the Verizon network, the Internet generally or other Internet users; and likely (b) transmit uninvited communications, data or information, or engage in other similar activities, including without limitation, "spamming", "flaming" or denial of service attacks; and (e) post off-topic information on message boards, chat rooms or social networking sites; Actually - i BEG of you lmao Mycosys (talk) 05:11, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Jersey Pooh vandal

Hi Materialscientist, I'm not exactly sure what I should do here. Last year, a number of articles related to Winnie-the-Pooh were being damaged by a New Jersey-based IP-hopping user who couldn't be reasoned with and didn't seem to understand that the article versions they preferred were entirely incoherent. One of the IPs seemed to be related to a special needs school district, my point being that the user may not have the competence to contribute constructively. As a result, many of the IPs were blocked for substantial durations (6 months each?). Recently I noticed that one of the IPs, Special:Contributions/24.0.194.57, that you previously had blocked, had started editing again, along with some of the other IPs. Though the disruptions aren't as severe as before, they are still unhelpful, for example the addition of unnecessary words without any regard for capitalization in the words that follow here, unnecessary "dollars", repeated submission of this content, and poorly conceived statements like "Kanga and Roo do not appear in this show but they only show up as toy animals." (from IP 173.*) So anyhow, not sure what to do. Warn them again and go through that process, or is there another approach? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:16, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've reblocked 24.0.194.57, as to 173.161.142.201, it didn't edit in a while. Materialscientist (talk) 03:31, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thank you. Yeah, I knew that most of the related IPs' edits were stale, like this one, but figured I'd mention them to paint a more comprehensive image. Thanks again! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:43, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion requested on copypasta

Hi M, I'm not asking for intervention, only for an opinion so I can get a better understanding of policy. It is my current understanding that television synopses must not be copypasted unless they are public domain, or clearly licensed for general usage. (for example, there is this giant notice at List of M.I. High episodes to that effect.) I removed some synopses here. They were restored. There is a relevant discussion here. I once asked this question at WikiProject Television, but got differing answers. My question: Is it the prevailing expectation that synopses should not be copy/pasted from other sources? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:29, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I believe most admins would support you initial point that in general those may not me copy/pasted. Two exceptions might be quoting, when it is needed to convey exact phrasing, and those marginal cases of common few-word phrases, which are hard to claim as copyright violations. Thank you, appreciated. I'm also engaging the community again on the issue, which maybe I should have done first. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:28, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I am trying to create a page in the name of "The Commission on Legal Pluralism" but wikipedia tells me that you deleted a page in that name. I understand that if I want to create a page with similar content, I need to ask you first. Can you tell me what your objection is with the page? I am a PhD student and I have no conflict of interest with this page, nor do I study legal pluralism per se. I am doing this purely based on my interest in informing people. I will appreciate hearing from you at your soonest.

NEVER send a message to an ISP-number in Belgium

Dear Sir,

While reading an article on Wikipedia (About Heini Dittmar), I received a banner that there was a 'New Message' for me. The message (From you) 'Ordered' me to make no further edits to Wikipedia-articles, as you deemed them vandalism. In your message you state that I had made changes to the 'Belgium'-article on Wikipedia.

PLEASE REFRAIN OF SENDING MORE SUCH MESSAGES IN THE FUTURE. THEY MAKE NO SENSE.

In Belgium the main ISP (Belgacom-SKYNET) uses 'Floating adresses'. Whenever I restart my modem I get a new adres. (Also, at every power-failure, computer-crash, disconnect ... or whenever my modem disconnects with my ISP). And this applies to about 50% of Belgian internet-users (Telenet uses fixed adresses).

So, al messages you send with, as recipient-identifie,r a sole ISP-adress are prone to reach the wrong person.

Although a very active Wikipedia-contributor in the past (Almost 10 yers ago), I have SINCE LONG REFRAINED of writing any more contributions to this wonderful piece of world-knowledge-treasure for reasons of a profound disgust with the new generations of Wikipedia-administrators.

Sincerely Yours (I never registered as a contributor to Wikipedia since I consider the use of 'Nicks' as childish, unworthy of serious internet-users ... it's something that reminds me of the 'Wild CB'-practices of some 30-odd years ago) Marc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.245.151.231 (talk) 18:49, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As a rather recent arrival, I find it surprising that an entire "new generation" of administrators appeared "almost 10 years ago". Personally, I sometimes leave warning messages for unregistered editors like yourself. They are intended to be read the next time the person accesses a Wikipedia page, and if the person is actively editing, then this is normally a few seconds or minutes later. I do not understand why someone would reset their modem every few seconds or minutes. If the warning is ultimately seen by a different person, the explanation that it may have been left for someone else (included in the template) deals with that eventuality. You have the choice to register or not register a username; each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:40, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting page protection on Asiatic lion

When you have a moment, I'd wonder if you'd consider putting a protect on Asiatic lion. Over the last 10 days, this page has been vandalized by the removal of the same (seemingly innocuous) sourced paragraph regarding an AL sighting. Never an edit summary. The IPs include:

121.245.86.93, 59.161.11.48, 121.245.81.32, 59.161.14.47, 59.161.0.219, 121.245.83.231, 121.245.148.139, 121.245.188.55

All from the same general locus (Indian subcontinent). Thanks for considering this. Cheers. --Seduisant (talk) 21:32, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

An IP you blocked a month ago is back, all edits look a bit more than 'incompetence' but deliberate fabrications that look at first glance credible, many individual edits have been undone but can all their edits be rolled back in one go? --Tony Wills (talk) 08:13, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It is not clear to me why they should all be rolled back - some look Ok. Materialscientist (talk) 08:40, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes some *look* ok, but none withstand scrutiny. They wander through deleting random entries (often extinct species), adding what could at best be called joke entries, and doing the occasional trivial twiddle that has no great effect and adds to an innocent look. Please point out a constructive edit that they have done? --Tony Wills (talk) 12:01, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There were a few correcting links like [3], some were also not improving much, but not breaking much, like that on onion. Materialscientist (talk) 12:06, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think you prove my point
  • Phillips' Small-eared Shrew is Cryptotis phillipsii
  • Phillips's Shrew is Congosorex phillipsorum
two completely different species, there was no reason to change the name to "Phillips' Small-eared Shrew" apart from the probability no one would notice the vandalism (ohh, I mentioned the "V" word ;-), they specialise in subtle but incorrect alterations with no reason given.
With the Onion one, no great harm, "L." is widely used to signify "Carl Linnaeus" and the editor has removed two occurrences at random from the article and I expect someone will eventually notice the inconsistency of usage and put them back. Just more unexplained low level stuff probably designed to not trigger ClueBot.
Rollback is a sledge hammer to crack a nut, but that's what's needed otherwise we need to waste a lot of time wading through all their edits. --Tony Wills (talk) 12:41, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok, you were right®, looking back at the pre-block edits I can see most were probably genuine, but they either accidentally broke things or weren't careful enough about their additions/deletions. I'll go an see what I can salvage ;-) --Tony Wills (talk) 10:08, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages

Hello, Materialscientist. When you moved Natalia Medvedeva to a new title and then changed the old title into a disambiguation page, you may not have been aware of WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:

A code of honor for creating disambiguation pages is to fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Natalia Medvedeva" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. R'n'B (call me Russ) 13:24, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, slowly, fixing other problems on the pages. I thought we have useful bots for this task. Materialscientist (talk) 13:59, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. A bot has no way of knowing whether a particular link refers to a singer or to a tennis player, unless its operator manually locates relevant articles by context. That's why WP:FIXDABLINKS requests that you fix the links; otherwise, it would just say leave them alone and let a bot fix them. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:07, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Allow me to intrude in order to note that WP:FIXDABLINKS tells you there exists a "code of honour"; language I personally believe have come about because it is far better to encourage editors such as Materialscientist to keep adding new articles even if it creates a need for disambiguation pages that possibly turn some direct links into indirect ones, than to discourage such article creation for when the editor lacks the time or competence or interest to also do internal Wiki plumbing. In other words, I'd like to ask you Russ to tone down your language a notch or two: the problem of some links leading to disambiguation pages isn't as bad as you're making out to be. The links still work, after all - it's not as if they break completely. Personally, I would like you to consider the possibility that your insistence turns an editor away from making Wikipedia better, and for what? Just because their contribution causes some trivial internal leakage? Cheers, CapnZapp (talk) 10:29, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's Ok. I forgot that Medvedva was a major tennis player and was linked all over wikipedia, and thinking back I might leave her page as the main article and keep two others as secondary instead of creating Natalia Medvedeva disambig. On the other hand, the singer/writer was also quite famous.
I think we should fix such moves (of heavily linked articles) by giving specific instructions to a bot (like relink name in all articles on a certain topic like tennis) and only then correct questionable cases manually. Materialscientist (talk) 10:45, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is a "code of honor," which I understand as meaning that it is encouraged to fix the links, but it is not a violation of the rules or anything like that if you fail to do so. It's just disappointing when this happens, because it would have been much easier to have fixed all the correct links before the page was moved (presumably, all the links before the move were for the tennis player, and any exceptions would have been easy to detect). I don't think it's "trivial" if a link that used to take readers to the correct article no longer does so; it's not the end of the world, but it's also not trivial. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 21:54, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not easier - there was a significant fraction of links to the singer, and three or more originally wrong links that meant the actor (3rd person). Relinking before the move would look strange to other editors (working blue links changed to redlinks) - a newbie would be automatically reverted and tagged for that. Materialscientist (talk) 22:00, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Offensive

Hello Materialscientist,

Since I am very familiar with the region. The changes that I have done was to eliminate offensive thinking from the page content. It does not reveal the truth and damages the reputation of wikipedia being a neutral and truthful encyclopedia.

The present mayor of the city is not Avukat(lawyer) Eyup Eroğlu. He is just a candidate for the up coming election on March 30th, and it is not for sure he will be the new major. The current mayor is Dr Adnan Çiçek (from AKP). Please do not make wikipedia become part of political propaganda.

Secondly whereever mentioned "mallar diyarı" or "mal" has to be changed because they are very offensive stereotypical untrue terminology against Tokat people. The external links might direct to a proper website but those words are very insulting.

Please help me to correct those changes.

Thanks,

Reverted Info on White Rose.

Hello Material Scientist. I would like to let you know that the reason I edited the term "German Resistance Movement" to NAZI (Should have put NASI) meaning Nationalist Socialis Workers Party is because it wasn't all of Germany that was being resisted. They themselves were German.

At the same time the cause and actions of such events all come down to Information and propaganda. I am going through similar problems with my own family and catholics. my Initials are JC my mothers name is Mary, fathers name is Emmanuel (The Book of Emanuel AKA the TORA AKA the Bible before translation...

Went to St Gabriels Catholic primary school, Maltese principal (Family and I all Maltese) Network of Maltese within the legal system Law enforcement, media, Medical, Crown Casino...

They were quick to throw my into a psyche ward after emailing various departments relating to the WTC attacks and Iraq war.

Father worked on a Spanish Oil rig in the 70's in Libya.

I seemed to be allowed to do the wrong things as if to accumulate some file against me but any form of organisation and grows was continually destroyed.

We had several addresses while I was growing up and I never had the space or time to establish anything in life so I dont really have any companions or friends who can account for anything I have done.

I probably need a Wiki Page just for my story but this monsterous network has worked long and hard for me to have any say.

Even just for me to move on and start new it would prove them all wrong.

The JC crucified for their sins story which most ignorant idiots go back to every sunday and give them more money.

For thousands of years it has been going on and if they were doing what they said they were doing and fixing and sorting problems there obviously wouldnt be any and I could actually prove that with the informatin and knowledge that I have but so many are to preoccupied with being blind, I mean they go out of their way o be blind and ignorant and it is clear when approaching any authoritive body with relevent important information and the reaction they give.

I actually wanted to meet with some people who were at those levels but I am quite certain many were "Dispatched" so the greater evil remains in play and the people acting in genuine good will and direction have been knocked into minorities and individual groups never having the opportunity to establish foundations....

Please do keep in touch unless the TV and internet manage to get into your head and under your skin making you believe you are some magical individual then lead you to the harvest and take everything you have and leave you no way of proving any of it was real.

You might think this is urgent and guess who you will run to with it all...yep thats them.

Good luck. The NAZI's HA, fucking circus act compared to who I am talking about.

Gestapo.. Please dont make me laugh. Fucking amateurs

Hussain Muhammad Ershad page edits

You have removed All my edits to Ershad's page. this is my first entry in Wikipedia, I am still learning the process.

Can you please explain why did you remove the following section which was properly cited and widely publicized.

On May 15th 2011, Supreme Court declared the military rule of HM Ershad illegal in a verdict that also said the actions taken by his regime will remain effective until their fate is decided by parliament. “All proclamations, Martial Law Regulations, Martial Law Orders, made/promulgated during the period between 24th March, 1982 and the date of commencement of the Constitution (Seventh Amendment) Act, 1986 (Act 1 of 1986) are hereby declared illegal and void.

I have put it back under the issues section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willium71 (talkcontribs) 15:49, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have also removed the following part.

Transparency International characterised Bangladesh as "the most corrupt country in the world" for the first time during the tenure of Awami League (1996 to 2001). It was maintained at that ranking until after the fall of BNP (2001 to 2006), when the military-backed caretaker government (CTG), established in a bloodless coup in January 2007, pursued corruption charges against leaders of both major parties and other politicians.

This paragraph mentions Bangladesh became the most corrupt country in the world the TI corruption index for the first time in 1996. This is factually wrong. Bangladesh was #4 most corrupt country in the world in 1996. (http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2914/18028/file/cpi1996.pdf)

There was no TI Corruption Perceptions Index prior to 1995. ( https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index )and that year Bangladesh was not part of the 41 countries that was surveyed, so it was impossible for Bangladesh to be on TI corruption index prior to 1996.

In addition, I fail to understand How is this related to General Ershad's biography unless intention is to make the perception that there was less corruption in Bangladesh during his decade long rule.

When comparing points you must always use the same points system. It is pointless to compare data from the 1960 with data from 2014 as the system has changed — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gfireman66 (talkcontribs) 22:03, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalizing IP from last September surfacing again?

Materialscientist, last September a vandal struck, using a bunch of IP addresses to attack various Glee articles, and you were very helpful in tracking down and blocking the proxy access (see your talk page's "IP blocked four hours ago already back?" section).

Today, I reverted a vandalizing edit to Kurt Hummel by 186.88.96.58, and didn't think much of it, although it did have a misleading (and seemingly helpful) edit summary, one of the hallmarks of the September vandal. While I was away, a different IP, 63.251.25.57 (though I imagine it's the same user) apparently posted some threats and filth on my talk page, which was reverted by another user. Certainly 63.251.25.57 ought to be blocked, and probably 186.88.96.58 as well. I'd also appreciate you expunging that particular edit from my talk page.

Many thanks. I hope this isn't a protracted thing again. If this is the first volley of many, I imagine you'll be busy chasing down the open proxies for the next little while; I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:24, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've reblocked one as an open proxy and will check the other later. Materialscientist (talk) 05:31, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see that 63.251.25.57, the one that put the filth on my talk page, got a 31 hour block—was this not one of those proxy accesses needing longer blocking? (The other address got two years.) Should I ask someone else to expunge that talk page edit? I imagine Mark Arsten would be willing. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 07:36, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I know, sorry, I forgot to check this IP as a proxy yesterday and will do that in an hour or so; the 31 h block was just a temporal precaution. Materialscientist (talk) 08:07, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It used to be an exit port of a tunnel proxy, but I can't make it work at the moment. Tunnel proxies are volatile. Materialscientist (talk) 09:31, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

removing poor resourced content on asiatic lion

hello materiatscientist,
       on asiatic lion page,
On 31 January 2014, an Asiatic lion was spotted in the Deva Vatala National Park located in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan.[13],
this information is not valid because asiatic lion's last wild population is in gir forest, gujrat india. this information doesn't
describe exactly they describe about roar and both lion and leopard roar so they may be spotted indian leopard. because leopard
have range in both india and pakistan but about asiatic lion, this is only single isolated population in gir forest gujrat.
there is not such information i got in wwfpakistan and iucn so my request is remove this content from asiatic lion page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Winanddie (talkcontribs) 10:52, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vgleer sock

Hi MS. Thank you very much for blocking the sock. Could you remove talkpage access as well? I don't think the troll needs it. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 07:22, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hinduism in Mauritius

I am here to say that while reverting my edits on page you also reverted correct figures. The percentage given by statistics Mauritius is 49% not 60%. That's why I am going to change this figure. I will not remove images which caused controversy. But there are too much of them on article.Septate (talk) 10:04, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, 48-49%, fixed, thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 11:34, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear you made a big mistake. Statistics Mauritius gives a figure of 49% while other sources give an estimate of 48%. No need to worry, I will fix that. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Septate (talkcontribs) 14:00, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

About Canard PC

So, you left a message on my talk page about the information I added on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Canard_PC . I added the fact about the pun, and failed to provide a source. (I was just walking by, and saw that, so I though about adding a fun fact about it)

You can actually see that on the French Page, https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canard_PC, but mostly, that's fairly obvious, when you're French (I am :)), that this is a pun about this relatively famous brand.

As you can see, I'm only beggining to participate to Wikipedia, so I don't know very well how to proceed :) But it will come :) Anyway, if a proof of it has to be given, I don't have one. As I said, it's just a pun, and an obvious one for a French. But I would completely understand if that is not acceptable. Beside, that's far from beeing an important fact. Just a fun one.

So, best regards :) Naboo — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naboochodonosor (talkcontribs) 11:51, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
