Re:Andrew Brons

I have removed that category "neo-Nazis" because he is no longer one; he used to be a politics teacher and he had a black student, so I sugges that you make a category "ex-neo-Nazis" and say that he is no longer interested in National Socialism

Re:Grawp user

He's blocked indefinitely. Check the log. — sephiroth bcr (converse) 02:34, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I see where I went wrong, logs for user talk don't show blockage, only logs for user. D'oh!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:38, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Wesleyan

I have addressed your attack and baseless accusation on the Wesleyan University talk page.Zog the Marvelous (talk) 02:14, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

You should have indicated why you were deleting in your Edit Summaries.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:35, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

I did. "(cur) (prev) 00:15, 3 April 2009 Zog the Marvelous (talk | contribs) (43,301 bytes) (Moved long history to seperate page.) (undo)"

Where's the presumption of good faith? Why throw out the vandalism accusation on my talk page? Why not admit when you are wrong? Why not correct your error? Zog the Marvelous (talk) 03:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

The recent edit I warned you for was not that one (that ClueBot reverted), but the one four minutes later at 00:19 UTC, which carried no such Edit Summary. Given the appearance of that information in article Wesleyan University history, I have withdrawn my comment from your user talk page.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 17:33, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Ryankearney

Perhaps you missed the part where I immediately UNDID my edit due to an error.

Please look into edits with further detail before you accuse someone of vandalism. Ryankearney (talk)

Perhaps you missed the part where you are asked to "Briefly describe the changes you have made".   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 21:26, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Hongniao missile

You reverted this without reading the source yourself here it is [1],it clearly says 600 Km for HN-1.--yousaf465' 03:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:06, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Please look at the edit. I think you'll see that the material was reworked into more standard Wikipedia format. You've reverted it back to the state that inspired both a WP:TRIVIA and a WP:V. Thanks!208.120.7.152 (talk) 15:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Cursing ClueBot is not nice. Neither is removal of over 8,000 bytes with an Edit Summary of "Incorporating media and legacy sections" in this edit.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 03:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

How do we determine notability for labels? They don't look notable to me, but this is not my strong suit. Cheers, 21:21, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Apology for replacing page with blank content

A picture I uploaded was flagged as not having the appropriate license. Being new to Wiki editing, I was not even aware I had to provide such information. I have since fixed all my uploaded pictures except for one; File:Chris Kunej in 2008.JPG. You sent me a message warning me of this. It was my first attempt at an upload and has a duplicate, so I figured replacing it with blank content would delete this unwanted image. Thank you for notifying me of this. I am sorry for doing it, it will not happen again. Below is your original message to me. Turqoise127 (talk) 23:26, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

, Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to File:Chris Kunej in 2008.JPG. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 20:36, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I think this edit should get File:Chris Kunej in 2008.JPG deleted.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 23:40, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

M.B. Nash - speedy deletion tag

Re: this edit, I'm confused as to why you tagged it as blatant advertising. Have I missed something? – Toon(talk) 23:50, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

It seemed at the time from the wikitext that the whole page was promoting YouTube videos M.B. Nash gets eaten by the Spinosaurus and M.B. Nash is a Skeleton.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 23:57, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah ok. It didn't come across that way to me, I removed the links as linking to copyright-violating materials and prodded the article instead. Best, – Toon(talk) 00:01, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 12:37, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
PROD removed, I've AfD'd it here. – Toon(talk) 22:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:05, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:04, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

S/he continues to be disruptive. I've just posted this on their talk page:

Fifth warning since 10th April 2009
You continue to be disruptive. e.g. [2].
Blanking your page does not alter the fact - it is all there in the edit history.

Have you started the process? (If not, I guess I'm in for a new learning curve). Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 02:55, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the notice. The user has been blocked for 31 hours for vandalism by Kralizec! For your edification, this is my report to Administrators via Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (WP:AIV) and this is HBC AIV helperbot3's removal of my report after Kralizec!'s block.   — Jeff G. As a matter of fact, I do find it edifying, but more usefully for me, I find it educational. Thanks, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Readergirlz

An article that you have been involved in editing, Readergirlz, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Readergirlz. Thank you.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CyberGhostface (talk) 23:35, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:25, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

By the way...

Some editors will read "discuss with me before you tag if I declined the previous speedy" as "You can't cross me, I'm an admin!" I don't mean that at all; I'm just trying to make sure communication stays open at CSD. You're welcome to take any article to AfD after I decline a speedy if you think it should be deleted; you're also welcome to make a case that it should have been speedied. Sometimes I'm wrong. (Watchlisting) - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 01:30, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I was considering AfD for that article anyway, given the author's apparent COI and OWN issues, and the lack of notability.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi!

I'm writing with your recent reversal of my edit ( http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User:ConsPro/Jebronie_Thanksgiving&oldid=282810948 ). This article is clearly a hoax, including dead references to articles that do not exist, a photo of another person than the one described in the article. I have reinstated my edit. Please, let's not edit war. before making any other changes to the article in question, you may want to review the similarities between that article and http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Evan_stone . Thanks. Civilly, 207.237.33.36 (talk) 23:10, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

User:ConsPro/Jebronie Thanksgiving, as it was last touched by ConsPro on 28 December 2008, was not an article, instead it was a parody on a user subpage that just looked like an article. As such, its author (and appropriately the user in whose user space it resides), ConsPro, should have been given a wide degree of latitude. Any warnings about that page should have gone on that user's user talk page User talk:ConsPro, not on the user subpage User:ConsPro/Jebronie Thanksgiving itself.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 23:29, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I guess I was confused because that page was included in the Category: Male Pornographic film actors (see this edit). While I see that the warning was misplaced on my part, I don't agree that this user should have be given a "wide degree of latitude", since that page violated several items that should not be on a user page (such as non-encyclopedic related material; roleplaying sessions, and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia"; images which are not free to use; and categories intended for other usage, in particular those for articles and guidelines). Additionally, I don't really see this user as being a regular Wikipedian. So...how to proceed? Should this user sub-page be restored and then nominated for speedy deletion? 207.237.33.36 (talk) 06:00, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I think that would be the best solution. Please go ahead and do that, or I will if you want me to.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 12:35, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
WOW, that took some time to figure out, but I think I've done it all correctly. Please check it out:
Thanks. 207.237.33.36 (talk) 06:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:06, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
However, please note that you should have created Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:ConsPro/Jebronie Thanksgiving and then transcluded it (as Aervanath did in this edit).   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 14:50, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
That's why I had so much trouble getting the mfd: users without accounts can not create pages. 207.237.33.36 (talk) 07:04, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
So please consider creating an account for yourself so you can create pages (among other benefits). Thanks.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 14:13, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Don't mean to be wasting your time with this (it's more conversational than anything), but there are good reasons for not having an account. Anyway, the page was deleted and all is good in Wikiland. Thanks for your help. 207.237.33.36 (talk) 22:13, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the revert

Thanks for the revert on the FIBT World Championships 1998. Greatly appreciated. Chris (talk) 15:22, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 15:23, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Ta for that

I have got so used to fiddling with welcome messages templates for some very weird new eds that I almost forgot the rigmarole of the correct format for the escalating vndlsm warnings - how could i forget... hmmm - thanks SatuSuro 14:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 16:39, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Eastern blotting

Eastern blotting is the detection of post translational protein modification and is not to be confused with Far eastern blotting. The technique used by Tanaka is Far Eastern and not Eastern. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.109.98.97 (talk) 01:50, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Please discuss that issue on Talk:Eastern blotting.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:58, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Dude ! I worked hard on making the "Southern Ontario" page good, and you just came and ruined hours of work ! Why did you do that ? You said I vandalized it ? How on earth did I vandalize it ? Can you please look at the edits I had made. It was a few lines and I added so much information just to see it destroyed within a second. Not cool —Preceding unsigned comment added by PhilthyBear (talkcontribs) 02:54, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Please read my and the other comments on your user talk page.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 03:03, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Syed Ahmed edits

Jeff happy to discuss http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Syed_Ahmed_(entrepreneur)?diff=285077167 - however I strongly dispute that my edits violate any neutral reporting policy. Quite the converse. The entire article had been slanted to paint the most negative picture possible of Mr Ahmed. I hardly think that quoting the fact he obtained exams is non-neutral it is a matter of public record and published.

With regard to the deletion of the reference to Syed's parents. In no place in the article was it stated that this what they hoped. I also fail to see the relevance of this to Mr Ahmed biography.

Please also forgive an incidental mistakes or faux pas on wiki. I am a new inexperienced user still getting to grips with it all. User:Amicaveritas 21:42 20 April 2009 BST —Preceding undated comment added 20:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC).

I believe Talk:Syed Ahmed (entrepreneur) is the best place to discuss the inclusion or exclusion of individual allegations about Syed Ahmed (entrepreneur).   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:42, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits, such as those you made to Mike Dempsey. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 01:23, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Jeff - is the above post of yours in error? I've never edited Mike Dempsey and there is now consensus my edits to Syed Ahmed's profile are not vandalism - which they were never intended to be. If you'd like to contribute: Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Syed_Ahmed_.28entrepreneur.29 Amicaveritas (talk) 16:58, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, that was an error. It was intended to be for Mykeed on User talk:Mykeed. Sorry for any implication about you. Regarding Syed Ahmed, I believe Gwen Gale has the situation well in hand.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:04, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. No problem. Thanks. Amicaveritas (talk) 18:27, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

I did not remove content "without explanation". I stated that I did not believe the content was necessary. If you undo edits you should explain why, unless it is very clearly vandalism. It is not clear to me if you actually object to the edit or if you didn't even bother to look at what I had done (as just happened twice with another article I edited, bread, where sensible edits were inappropriately undone). 86.150.101.209 (talk) 02:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC).

The initials you removed were honorifics, symbols of honors awarded by Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England. Removal of them was disrespectful.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:47, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
I know what they are and what they mean. If you look at how other people present the players' names in this draw you will see that almost no one includes them. I'm being generous with "almost"; I couldn't find a single example. They're unnecessary -- positively weird, in fact -- in a results summary like this. 86.150.101.209 (talk) 03:18, 21 April 2009 (UTC).
I raised this on the article's talk page. You may wish to comment there. 86.134.55.144 (talk) 13:10, 21 April 2009 (UTC).
 Done, thanks.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 15:46, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
