Merry Christmas

Hello IRP! I just wanted to wish you and your family a merry Christmas! May this Christmas be full of great cheer and holiday spirit. Again, merry Christmas! Ashbey 00:58, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't celebrate Christmas, then happy holidays!
Thanks. -- IRP 01:53, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism of the Talmud

That was a prod tag, not an AfD; the user is entitled to remove it. Ironholds (talk) 23:00, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to roll my own edit back, but I saw "Rollback failed". I already noticed the mistake, but thanks for letting me know anyways. -- IRP 23:01, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problemo. I've sent it off to AfD anyway, you can poke your head in there if you want. Ironholds (talk) 23:02, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting the article would very improper on your part. Doing so would obviously be an act againist freedom of speech. The articles quotes references, they are in bold type. Deleting would only reveal your bias and fears. There are articles on criticism of many books, but when you do about the talmud, I Jew am accused of being anti-Semite, disgusting. It's not in an essay form, it lists many, many references including profession books, websites, and quotations from books, and Jewish scholars. It is in point form to help make adjustment. I now have a copy of the article so don't think about about trying to delete it I and others will just put back on! It's call presenting different side, or againist that freedom too?--Standforder (talk) 04:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me? I'm not (and never have) accused you of being an anti-semite. The issue is not to do with bias, freedom of speech or "presenting a different side" but rather about how that information is presented. The bible, for example, is not a reliable source. Please look at the points given here as to the issues with the page. Information should not be kept because of, quote, "freedom of speech"; Wikipedia is not a place for original research and is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Ironholds (talk) 06:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

uw-rollback

Nice template! But I'm not sure about the formatting, maybe it should be formatted to resemble the uw block templates. Please join the discussion at WT:UTM#New template: uw-rollback. Thanks! Anomie 04:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, and if you need any more help, add "{{helpme}}" to the very bottom of your talkpage. -- IRP 22:25, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

About the confusion above, I thought he was putting spam messages around (cut and paste) and did not see them as good faith, now I know they are, I apologize to you as I think you are sorting it out for me. Regards. Andy (talk) 22:36, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indef blocked tagging

Hey there - you don't have to put the indefblocked template on VOA userpages that have not been created. The point is to have less pages, not more - you only tag them if the user has created a page, which puts it in a category to eventually be deleted. Tan | 39 17:08, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why I do it is to alert any users who stumble upon the userpage that the account has been indefinitely blocked. Are you saying that you want me to stop doing it? -- IRP 17:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a huge deal, but yes, it's unnecessary and just creates more pages. Any user can see my indefblocked note on their talk page. Don't get me wrong; I highly appreciate your work here. Just giving you friendly advice ;-) Tan | 39 17:12, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude pls don't use Vista

hearts and minds (iraq) talk page

I blanked the page because the only comment was one person putting a link to "American soldiers at their worst" and saying how "There are lots of successful attempts to earn hearts and minds". It wasn't at all constructive and served no purpose therefore I deleted. On my talk page you said I should have reverted to a previous edit but that would be impossible because only one person had written on the page before that it was blank.69.123.106.132 (talk) 01:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)69.123.106.132[reply]

You can tag the page for deletion by inserting "{{db|reason to delete the page}}" at the top of the page. -- IRP 01:33, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really didn't feel it was necessary to delete the whole page being that it was only a talk page and not an article. 69.123.106.132 (talk) 01:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)69.123.106.132[reply]
Then, please explain why you blanked it using the edit summary box. People will think you are a vandal if you don't. -- IRP 01:44, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok sorry 69.123.106.132 (talk) 01:46, 30 December 2008 (UTC)69.123.106.132[reply]

What?

Attacking other users? You have got to be friggin kidding me. What aspect of my comment would be considered an attack? If anything, its a complement knowing what these two admin thugs have done! --Assembletheways (talk) 18:12, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:No personal attacks. -- IRP 18:15, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But what aspect of the comment in rude? What swear word did I use? --Assembletheways (talk) 18:18, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How would you like it if somebody called you "ignorant"? -- IRP 18:21, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I used it in the correct context because they did something wrong. --Assembletheways (talk) 18:44, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year

Dear IRP,
I just wanted to wish you and your family a happy new year, however you're celebrating it. Whether 2008 was a good year for you, or if it wasn't the greatest year, hopefully 2009 will be better. Cheers, and happy editing in 2009 :-),

Frank Hudrey

I assumed the purpose of the page was for vandalism, since it had gibberish on it. What was that for, anyway? --Readopedia (talk) 02:39, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please see this note that I left on your user talkpage. -- IRP 02:43, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I saw it, so thanks for informing me. What was the reason for creating that page with gibberish, anyway? --Readopedia (talk) 02:46, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A vandal created it for no reason other than to vandalize the encyclopedia. It wasn't me who created it. -- IRP 02:52, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar!

The Original Barnstar
I remember when you first arrived here you had a few problems with your username - you remained calm throughout and it was a reak pleasure to help you. Since that point, you've turned into an excellent Wikipedian with thousands of great contributions - you really are an asset to the project. Keep up the good work IRP. I did leave a explanation

In both the talk page and as a comment in the history page you can see the explanation to why I deleted what I deleted. Where would you like the explanation to be?Eyenuh300 (talk) 23:10, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, please see this link. -- IRP 23:16, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the problem is with me, for some reason I am upsetting the auto-report program. Am I not leaving my comments in the right place?Eyenuh300 (talk) 23:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
