Thanks for adding this updated rankings. Just wanted to let you know that for the 2011 season, Week 5 rankings were released on Oct. 2 and Week 6 rankings will be released (hopefully with the Red Raiders) on Oct. 9. I corrected your edits (see [http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=2011_Texas_Tech_Red_Raiders_football_team&diff=prev&oldid=453613232 summary here]) to include the right week. You keep deleting my content and Alex is very unhappy. I tried citing stuff and you guys keep taking it down. Please help

Revision as of 18:12, 3 October 2011

Please post new messages at the bottom of my talk page. Please use headlines when starting new talk topics. I'm not infallible, if I've made a mistake in reverting one of your edits, don't hesitate to point it out to me. If you're here to insult me or otherwise vandalize this page, it'll just be reverted with my feelings left very much intact.

It may take me a while to respond to messages, I'm not as active as I once was.

A Hope for Home

Hey Falcon, I need help editing A Hope for Home's article. I created it all by myself and I need someone of your expertise to help me prevent it from being deleted and get their album covers on their album articles. Thank you.MatthewCJones (talk) 00:15, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's not tagged for deletion at the moment, so you're fine for now. Someone tagged it for speedy deletion but I contested it, and then the same editor prodded it which is a less strict form of deletion that anyone can contest. It might be listed at WP:AFD which is the last method it could be deleted by, but would be subject to debate by other editors to see whether or not it passed the general notability criteria or the notability criteria for bands. Regarding the album covers, general image use policies are here. You just need to add the appropriate non-free image use license to the file pages. How to do so is described at Wikipedia:Non-free_use_rationale_guideline. Falcon8765 (TALK) 00:19, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is there anything on their page that you would change? MatthewCJones (talk) 00:22, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed 2 references that used Wikipedia article's as their source and added 2 more categories. Besides that, it looks fine to me. Falcon8765 (TALK) 00:34, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome, thanks man! I can't figure out the whole album cover deal though, I upload the covers before and they've been deleted so now I can't upload them. MatthewCJones (talk) 00:42, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Go to the old deleted file page (File:BlahBlah (whatever you named them)) and see who the deleting admin was. Explain the situation on their talk page and they will help you out. Falcon8765 (TALK) 00:55, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I re-uploaded the album covers, could you visit the pages and see if they appear the right way? Here, The End, The Everlasting Man, Realis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MatthewCJones (talkcontribs) 22:37, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They got deleted because you uploaded them to Commons, which is for Public Domain works. It's an easy mistake to make so no worries. You just have to upload them to Wikipedia itselft. Falcon8765 (TALK) 01:12, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man, they started a discussion for the deletion of the article here:

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/A_Hope_for_Home

I want to thank you for helping me understand wikipedia, create and edit this article rather than just sending a message of deletion like RHaworth. MatthewCJones (talk) 20:09, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. It's refreshing to see someone that is actually making the effort to figure out how Wikipedia works. I deal with far too many that don't bother. Falcon8765 (TALK) 20:14, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Record Collecting

Hi Falcon8765

You recently reverted a couple of links added to Record collecting. I absolutely agree with removing vinylrecordsearch, as it is a blatantly commercial site, and this site has been removed many times over. (Is there a way to blacklist a url?). However, 78rpmcommunity is a non-commercial link which aids in further understanding of the article topic. I didn't add this in the first place, and I don't want to add it back in without hearing why you think this is an inappropriate link. Given that I'm no real expert on Wiki external link protocol, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the subject. Thanks! 78.26 (talk) 01:40, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it because it's apparently a social network, and links to social networks are to be avoided as per WP:ELNO. Falcon8765 (TALK) 02:55, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contest Deletion of Drew Elliot

Falcon8765,

Can you please reverse your deletion of Drew Elliot. He is notable and has been mentioned in newspapers such as the New York Times, for his inovative work in changing the nature of PR. Here is the link to the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/15/fashion/extra-extra-papers-event-planning-affiliate-ny-fashion-week.html BizBash has also featured him: http://www.bizbash.com/2001-2011_6_up-and-coming_event_pros_to_watch_in_the_next_10_years/newyork/story/21020

If the article needs to be altered can you please advise me rather than deleting the article all together.

Thank youNcacia (talk) 18:58, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User_talk:Peridon was the deleting admin, if you ask him, I'm sure he can work something out for you. Might take him some time to answer though. Falcon8765 (TALK) 22:17, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flickr Image upload

I'm just wondering whether I need to message an onwer for permission if I'm uploading images on Flickr with CC-BY-SA or CC-BY. Thanks! Bordercolliez (talk) 05:02, 24 September 2011 (UTC) Bordercolliez (talk) 11:41, 24 September 2011 (UTC)BorderColliez[reply]

Any Reason you sent two warnings for ONE dit to the Trail of Blood and Tears????

Who is your supervisor? I need to escalate my complaint to them. You obviosly do not know or respect the differences between historical Facts and personal opinion. The Trail of Blood and Tears is the Historically Accurate name for the Indian Removal of 1830.

I Corrected the name twice and was given TWO level 2 warnings by YOU for filling out Wiki's own request as to "WHY DID YOU MAKE THESE CHANGES" Why does Wkipedia ask "WHY DID YOU MAKE THESE CHANGES" if all they are going to do is allow power hungry folks to reprimand people for stating WHY they have made the immediate changes?!

Here are a few of Many references for the True Historically Accurate name "The Trail Of Blood And Tears"

9th Paragraph: "The A.F.B. activist recalled the atrocities meted out to the Native Americans in United States two centuries ago in the Trail of Blood and Tears of Cherokee Indians, the Sand Creek Massacre of November 29, 1864 and the massacre of the Yuki of Northern California (1856-1860). "The situation in Balochistan today is an exact replica of those sad chapters of U.S. history and you can help us stop this," the A.F.B. activist urged the gathering."

I personally left you a second notice after you continued the behaviour that got you the first one. I am not nor are 99% of other editors an employee of Wikipedia. I am a volunteer, and thus have no supervisor. I suggest to you that you take a step back and familiarize yourself with the basics of how Wikipedia works before editing as you have been. The article is named the way it is because that is what the vast majority of reliable sourced (click blue links for more information on what is considered a reliable source to us) call it. The specifics of this particular guideline are outlined at WP:COMMONNAME. Thank you. Falcon8765 (TALK) 04:48, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your authority needs to be removed because of you abusive behavior. http://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&tbo=1&q=Trail+of+blood+and+tears+%2B+native+american&btnG=#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&tbo=1&tbm=bks&source=hp&q=%22Trail+of+blood+and+tears%22+cherokee&pbx=1&oq=%22Trail+of+blood+and+tears%22+cherokee&aq=f&aqi=&aql=1&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=28189l30279l6l30482l9l9l1l0l0l0l202l937l1.5.1l8l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=2ba85e9b8f16205f&biw=1112&bih=545 Here are at least 3 references Wikipedia considers "reliable" to prove the Fact of the Name most accurate is truly the Trail of Blood and Tears. http://books.google.com/books?id=SP8WAQAAMAAJ&q=Trail+of+blood+and+tears+%2B+native+american&dq=Trail+of+blood+and+tears+%2B+native+american&hl=en&ei=Dq6CTv3GHtK3tgepoMDeBw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8&sqi=2&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBw I feel you are discriminating against me, and I need to be able to contact who ever decided to give you authority that you abuse. 71.228.80.4 (talk) 05:13, 28 September 2011 (UTC) Sincerely[reply]

I don't have much patience for behavior such as this, and as such, I am finished with this particular discussion. You are free to continue discussion on Talk:Trail of Tears, where you may query my behavior as much as you please. Falcon8765 (TALK) 05:25, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
