Files missing description details

hi. I'm not too good with editing Wikipedia. in the latest Family Guy episode, it is revealed that Meg's real name is actually Megatron. That's why I changed it.

Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:

are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 00:53, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:JMiles.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:JMiles.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

article re croydon park

I live in Croydon Park, and have done so for the last 8 years. I know better then anyone how the real estate market is performing today. Not many people can say somebody knocks on their door weekly to buy their house.

Appreciate the comment, but I am 1,000 times more qualified to comment on this subject than you are. Over and out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.49.155.34 (talk) 13:31, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Operation Cactus 1988

Im trying to make the page more precise by adding the exact units of the Indian armed forces who were involved in the operation.

It was the Indian special forces, the Para commandos (India) and MARCOS who were involved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.62.184.193 (talk) 19:25, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

name change uthman to usman.

kindly change the name uthman to usman.because in Arabic,Urdu, and Turkish languages it is "USMAN". both names have different meanings and different phanatic transcriptions.basically this name belong to Arabic so we must pronounce it in Arabic and define meaning in any other language instead of changing the original word?? you can easily verify this from other authentic sources. links: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Uthman_ibn_Affan http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Uthman_%28name%29

St. George's College Edits

I made two edits.

1., I removed "Amante Eledin Parrguez" (which should actually be "Amante Eledin Parraguez") as an "internationally reknown alumni", because he is simply not known outside of Chile. He isn't even known in Chile, frankly.

2., I added "and terrorist" to the description of Andrés Pascal Allende, because in fact, he was a **self-described** terrorist. The movement he led, the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria, explicitly and openly advocated the use of violence to achieve its goals. To my way of thinking, openly advocating violence to achieve political goals is the definition of terrorism.

Concerning those two issues, point 2 might be considered a matter of opinion. But as to point 1, it's really not a matter of opinion. Mr. Parraquez's work is currently out of print in Spanish (and out of stock at the major bookstore where I am writing this), and has never been translated into a foreign language.

I'll go ahead and re-edit the entry for point 1. I'll leave it to your discretion as to whether or not to edit point 2.

Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.8.79.154 (talk) 19:39, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

wallpaper paste

Hi - I tried to change wallpaper paste. And you blocked it and I don't understand why. I'm not saying my contribution was perfect but your current one is totally inaccurate and reads like goobledygook. I've no doubt someone will come along and improve mine - but right now Wiki is wrong in it's description of something. You're mixing up Paste and adhesive! I see you repeatedly reverted a vandal there who kept adding nonsense, however, you failed to notice that there was no content on that page after the vandal (from a different IP but I assume the same person) removed it all. Just a heads up. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 23:25, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

STOP removing my posts on the page:Rugeleythis is the FINAL time that I will ask. Don't revert changes you don't understand

I came to this talk page assuming you were a bot that needs to be corrected. Instead it looks like you're a real person who "helpfully" reverts edits by others and then sends them a message telling us to use the sandbox. Seriously? Check what you're reverting before you do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.173.12.159 (talk) 06:29, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

thomas hyde

well, he was the first european to notice and describe, in latin, the most ancient chinese board-game. It seems to me quite relevant. at least it is much more important that the actual sentence, where it is saied he described a variant of backgammon, a game that in China did not arrived before Tang dynasty. if in doubt ask to board-game historians or go players or sinologists here in this en-WP. --147.162.48.1 (talk) 13:40, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gerritsen Beach, Bay, and Mill

The article at Wikipedia that says these areas were named for Wolphert Gerretse are absolutely FALSE. I signed up as an editor to fix the lie, but you keep deleting my changes. There is a definite paper trail of land deeds for the family of Samuel Gerritsen all the way to the selling of the property to the Whitney family. The New York Times seems to have stated in 2002 that the Beach was named for Wolphert falsely.

What can I do to correct this error? I have no faith in any of the things I read at Wikipedia now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gallacreek (talkcontribs) 16:56, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wolphert Gerretse's last name was Couwenhoven. Later this name was called Conover. I signed up to this because when I read about Gerritsen Beach, Bay, and Mill, I knew this information was false. I don't really even understand what to do. I just know about this subject and surely hate to read FALSE reporting about it. I posted it 3 times and 3 times different editors removed it. My conclusion is " Wikipedia prefers to have information that is false rather than let me correct it." I am OLD and not an accomplished computer user. I was just trying to correct false information. Why would that not be "helpful"? Is there anything I can do to fix the incorrect information? I know I am not as esteemed as the New York Times, but if that is where this statement originated they are incorrect also. Samuel Gerritsen's family owned this estate until it passed to the Whitney family and this is a documented chain through will and deed records. During the Revolutionary was Samuel Jr. operated the Mill and was forced to grind corn for the British Armies. Gallacreek (talk) 20:53, 13 November 2013 (UTC)Gallacreek[reply]

Thanks for nominating St Bede's Catholic High School (Lytham) for speedy deletion. Only problem was that you nominated it as a nonsense page, when the article was an attack page (the giveaway was allegations of one of the teachers being in an adult bar). Please could you make sure you tag pages correctly? The attack speedy deletion category page is more closely monitored than the others and tends to get a quicker response; as it was, this article was up for nearly an hour before it was deleted.

If you are unsure as to what tags to use, please see WP:CSD. Thank you! Stephen! Coming... 17:04, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Less than neutral edit on game review

I guess that wasn't neutral, although I could put specifically what sites gave it scores, therefore it will at least be verifiable. Although, I don't know how to add references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.224.55.59 (talk) 16:39, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shaun Teale

Hello. I added the data as my uncle was friends with Shaun Teale during his time at Motherwell FC, and actually participated in these baking lessons, and was the recipient of one of the tarts. I added the information, as i thought it would add a little insight into the private life of Shaun. I do admit, that changing Hong kong to king kong was in jest, but that is due to an inside joke my uncle had with Shaun. I had just asked my uncle to contact Shaun upon my edit so he could enjoy the "in-joke". I would appreciate if you replaced my edit back in, as i try and find a suitable source for the information, as it is 100% truthful.

Reversion on Lipoma

There is no such thing as the colossal commissure. Colossal simply means huge. There is an anterior commissure and a posterior commissure, which are indeed under (most of) the brain, but they are not the same as the corpus callosum. Furthermore, corpus callosum is not <under> the brain. I was just fixing a spelling on colossal. Pollira (talk) 16:02, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Leaders of Canada

Within the page "Canada-United States relations" you describe Canada's first leader(s) as Francis I of France and Henry VII (of England), and Canada's current leader as Elizabeth II. There are three issues: one of consistency; one of historical accuracy; and one with regards to the definition of "leader(s)".

With regards to consistency, the United States' first leader is described as George Washington, which suggest that the title of first leader should reference the leader when the nation was formed. Therefore, to be consistent, the title of the first leader of Canada should be awarded to the leader at the time of confederation, centuries after Francis I and Henry VII. If not, then arguable the first leader of the United States could also be considered a British monarch.

With regards to historical accuracy, while Francis I of France reigned during the time of New France, Henry VII of England reigned far before the first colonies began in what became present day Canada. Henry VII was in power during John Cabot expeditions (and initial claims of land for England) but not when the first colony was created and far before the idea of Canada ever existed. There are multiple other British monarch who would be more suited, including Elizabeth I(reigned during the establishment of St. Johns, England's first colony in North America) or Victoria (reigned during Canada's confederation), for example. Stating that Henry VII was (one of) the first leaders of Canada suggests that Canada began when parts of what is now Canada were explored and claim by England (as part of the English Kingdom). However, Icelandic Sagas would be more appropriate if we want to focus on the first Europeans to explore or settle in a land that became present day Canada. And the fact that you included Francis I as a first leader despite the fact that New France was award to Britain should make moot any argument regarding continuing governance.

With regards to the definition of "leader(s)" I find it very difficult for one to consider a figurehead as a leader. I don't think this point needs to be argued to death here, I'm confident we both understand the merits of each side (head of state vs. head of government; legal power vs. de facto power; etc.).

I think we need to address two main issues: 1) when did Canada become Canada?; and 2) who is true leader of Canada? In my opinion, Canada become Canada at confederation because this is when Canada become a country. And in my opinion, the Prime Minister leads Canada. It is he/she who (with parliament) writes laws, levies taxes, administers justice, established policies and essentially controls the nation. The Queen acts upon the direction/recommendation of the Prime Minister. In some sense, that would make the Queen more of a puppet than a leader. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.99.136.187 (talk) 21:43, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at List of Belen Jesuit Preparatory School people. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Kill The Aligator And Run edit

Okay i can understand why it was edited out considering it was unsorced and a forum is not the best source but how on earth was it vandalism? If i understand it right vandalism is adding nonsense to pages that does not make much sense or taking of large potions of pages etc. I say the fault with my edit was more that it was unsourced and i cited a forum.

After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Aunva7 (talk) 18:31, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Corbin Fisher Edit

CanadianLinuxUser,

After reviewing the article and doing my own research on the topic, I have found that several of the claimed lawsuits did not happen. Although Corbin Fisher did go through great efforts to fight copyright infringement, the frivolous comments made on fighting copyright infringement were not done so by the company, or approved by the company as an entirety. The segment does not pertain to the article and does not contain fully factual information. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia and I believe we are all here and editing to come closer to the truth; therefore, I do not see any value in posting inaccurate information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.160.247.182 (talk) 18:44, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vanillin edit

Hello!

While to some the connection between vanilla and creamy flavorings, and creamy flavorings and cream soda are each obvious, the connection that vanillin is the principle artificial flavor in artificially flavored cream soda is not so immediately obvious. I added those three words with the intent of providing an example of a creamy flavor that uses vanillin. I intended to discern between sweet creamy flavors (those alluded to in the article) and savory creamy flavors (which often use a mixture of dairy components like buttermilk).

I'm sorry if this addition seemed inane, mostly because vanilla is a common flavor to many people, but examples are still useful in nearly every case.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.112.235.184 (talk) 18:58, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
