Dondi reconstruction in the Science Museum

Can you elaborate on the Dondi reconstruction? I saw it in August 2006, and it was not broken. How can it break? It's almost doing nothing. I do not even recall that it was working. Most of the reconstructions I have seen are still. And even if it is not on display, it should be listed among the reconstructions. The one in Paris is not on display, and should be listed too.Schwilgue (talk) 18:37, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

I remember that prior to 2006 it worked (at least the 24-hour clock (not too accurate) and the calendar worked, can't say anything about the rest). At some point in 2006 I saw that the rope holding one of the weights had (somehow) broken, and the clock and calendar had stopped (confirmed several months later). A couple of years later the museum temporarily removed the Time section for some special exhibition. When it returned, the exhibit had been significantly reshuffled, and the Astrarium reconstruction was no longer on display. I have no idea whether it has been or will be repaired, or whether it will be put back on display. 10metreh (talk) 20:05, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Venus transit from Beijing

Hi there mate, I read the article about tomorrow's Venus transit, and I noticed that 3 years ago you contributed an image of a simulation of what it will look like from Beijing. It made me wonder, why Beijing if you're in Britain. Anyway, I happen to be in Beijing right now, so if there was any particular reason why you wanted the Beijing version and I can get anything for you tomorrow, let me know. I didn't mention his death. The edit which introduced the erroneous death date was this one. Part of that edit was quickly removed, but the death date was not, so when someone later changed the death date to 2080, I spotted it on Huggle and reverted it, because it was vandalism. I saw the edit when I was patrolling for vandalism on Huggle; I thought it was vandalism because I had no idea that Bloomberg actually had a house so close to Berlusconi.
