He began working in the sports section of Radio Popular Reus (Cadena COPE) at the age of 17 (1982) and seven years later, he hosted the program El Terrat (Cadena SER Catalunya), by which he obtained the Premio Ondas to the Best Program of Local Radio in 1997. In order to hire his own collaborators, he founded El Terrat, a company dedicated to the "production of television, radio, advertising and cybernaut". During the summer of 2002 he hosted La isla de los mosquitos (Cadena SER), a program where inventiveness and music were mixed. Eleven years later, on Sunday 30th of June, 2013, he returned to Cadena SER with his friend and companion Berto Romero with the program Nadie Sabe Nada.

Television

[edit]

His first television appearances were in 1992 under Mikimoto's orders in Persones humanes (TV3 Catalonia), under Arus' in Al Ataque (Antena 3) and under Sardà's in Tot per l'audiència (TV3 Catalonia). He established himself in the public Catalan television with programmes like Sense Títol (1995), Sense Títol 2 (1996), Sense Títol, Sense Vacances (1997) and Sense Títol S/N (1998), all of them produced by El Terrat and directed by Buenafuente with his team of collaborators. Despite this, the programs that achieved more success in the Catalan television were the late show La cosa nostra (1999-2000) —a total of 268 programs from Monday to Friday, which ending remain surrounded with polemic and urban legends— and Una altra cosa (2002-2004). In June 2004, this program finished and Buenafuente accepted the offer of Antena 3 to work on the national television, with programs similar to Una Altra Cosa. In addition, other successful programs and series were produced by his company in TV3, as Malalts de la Tele (1997), Plats Bruts (1998), A pèl (2002) and Set de nit. After he accpected the offer of Antena 3, he started to work in the late night Buenafuente (Antena 3) on January 11, 2005. It was broadcasted from Tuesday to Thursday, and as share results in the first months were higher than expected, it obtained the Premio Ondas to the best program of entertainment in 2006. It stands out he appearance of prominent figures like "el Neng de Castefa" (Edu Soto). After two years, it signed a renewal for one more year, but a clear decline in the number of viewers cause that it finished his emission on June 28, 2007.

Two days earlier he announced that they were moving to La Sexta under the same name and the same format. The opening date was on September 17, 2007 at 00:00 hours and in a few months the character of Rodolfo Chikilicuatre represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest with the mythical Baila the Chiki Chiki with which he obtained the 16th position with 55 points. Andreu had part of the team of actors and scriptwriters that he had worked with since he was on TV3, led by Jordi Évole among others, who were joined by new comedians such as Berto Romero.

On December 3, 2009, Andreu moved to Madrid to present for a day El Intermedio, replacing El gran Wyoming, who did the same in reverse. On March 24, 2010, Buenafuente made an innovation in its daily program by issuing an upside-down program - Etneufaneub -, which stands out for its originality and for keeping the same tone it always maintains in the program.3 In addition, Andreu presented live For La 1 the gala of the Goya Awards in the editions of 2010 and 2011, celebrated in the Real Theater of Madrid and collaborated in the Pelotas series. On June 30, 2011 Buenafuente last issued its program in La Sexta after 964 programs in four years.

In November 2011 returned to TV3 to present the double program Com va la vida? Together with the scientific promoter Eduard Punset, in which they reflect on life and science with a touch of humor.5 Andreu returned seven years later to the network that saw him debut on television and where he worked for more than ten years.

On April 15, 2012, the Good Night and Buenafuente (Antena 3) program was released, broadcast on prime time Sundays.1 6 It was canceled one month later due to a decline in the audience after five broadcasts.

In November 2013 Andreu Buenafuente, tired of its previous life resumes the schedule of late night in La Sexta with the space In the air.

In September 2015 it was confirmed its transfer by the platform Movistar +, leaving the group Atresmedia and ending the program In the air.

On January 11, 2016 begins the late show Late Motiv on Canal + with Pedro Almodovar as guest. From February 1, with the disappearance of Canal +, the program will be broadcast on the new Movistar + channel, # 0. This is an attempt by the Catalan driver to return to the classic late with the presence of a band and the great commitment to live music. Also diminish the appearances of collaborators to promote a one man show. Some habitual collaborators like Berto Romero or Javier Coronas continue, although they incorporate names like his couple Silvia Abril, David Broncano, David Suárez (the creator of Vincent Finch: Diary of an ego) and the "anti-reporter" Llimoo.
