Vishnu Dayal Rajput (Born 15 March 1981), popularly known as Vishnu D Rajput is an Indian born Russian scientist, author, motivational speaker [1] and professor at Southern Federal University, Russia specializing in nanotechnology, soil science, and agricultural biotechnology. [1][2] He was awarded the "Certificate of Honor" by the Southern Federal University for his breakthrough research in field of Soil Science; especillay nano-enhanced soil and crop management. [3][4][5][6] He has authored several books devoted to soil and crop management.[7][8][9][10] Rajput has an H-index of 47 with 9,728 citations by July 2024. [11] His publication record includes 203 articles in Q1 journals and 37 book chapters [12]. He is one of ten Southern Federal University employees included in the list of the most cited scientists in the world.[13] [14]

Early life and education

Rajput was born on 15th March, 1981 in the farmer in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. He obtained his Agricultural degrees from Chander Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology in Kanpur, India, and become one of the famous alumni. [15]Then, he obtained his Ph.D. degree at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China. [16]

Career

Rajput worked as researcher at ICAR: IIPR, Kanpur, CSSRI, Karnal and CPB HAU Hissar, and conducted research of mycorrhizal fungi, heavy metal tolerant microbes for soil and waste water remediation .

Southern Federal University, Russia

Rajput joined Southern Federal University in March, 2016 as a senior researcher under the russian presidential international program. Then in 2020, he became Leading Researcher.[17][18][19] From March 2024 Rajput working as a Principal Scientist and head of International Lab on nanobiotechnology.[20]

Research interests

Rajput's research addresses the toxic effects of bulk- and nano-form metal elements on plants and soil microorganisms. He explored the bioaccumulation, translocation in plant tissues, bio/geo-transformations of nanomaterials, and nano-enhanced remediation techniques involving nanomaterials, nano-biochar, integrated biochars, and bioengineering of rhizospheric systems. His work supports sustainable agriculture and emerging remediation technologies using novel materials like biochar and nanomaterials. [21][22] [23]

  • Rajput engaged with various non-profit organization[30] [31] for helping students for higher education and green environment. He also delivering motivational lectures[32][33] "how to study in foreign university and get scholarship. He wrote a popular book on scientific writing and publication ethics for young researchers.[34]
