Appearance
Prophase
This is the first stage of divison. At this point, the nuclear envelope will be broken down. Chromosomes will also be visible under a microscope and will be connected at the centromere.
Metaphase
Metaphase is the stage in cell division when the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell. At this point, the chromosomes are ready to split into another cell. Spindle fibers start to form in order to begin that process.
Anaphase
After the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell, the spindle fibers will pull them apart. The chromomes will now be on opposite sides of the cell.
