Gripin advertisement in Tan newspaper dated 13 February 1939.

Gripin is the trade name of the first Turkish-made painkiller and antipyretic drug developed by Pharmacist Necip Akar. Its active ingredient is paracetamol. Its production started in 1931 and today it is produced by Gripin İlaç A.Ş.

As Gripin was one of the first Turkish-made medicines produced in Turkey and was well promoted, it was highly adopted by the public. Especially in the years when malaria was rampant, Gripin with Quinine was used as the only medicine and was sought by the public in the remotest corners of Turkey.
