BodyFast is a Munich-based intermittent fasting mobile app company that provides users with personalized fasting plans, tracking tools, and educational resources on fasting, health and wellbeing. History

The development of the BodyFast app started in 2016, and it was officially launched in December 2017. BodyFast GmbH is based in Munich, Germany, and was founded and bootstrapped by Matthias Schmeißer and Patrick Hammer.[2]

The app is available for download on iOS and Android platforms. As of 2024, the app has been downloaded by more than 45 million users across 150 countries and is available in six languages.[3][4]

BodyFast has an average rating of 4.7/5 in app stores and has been featured as "App of the Day" by Apple multiple times. [5][6] To date, the app has achieved the top position in the Health & Fitness category in 48 countries. [3][4]

The BodyFast app has been recognized for its clear and straightforward design and has been mentioned in several health and wellness publications, including Women's Health, Shape, and Handelsblatt.[7][8][9][10][11][12] Shape magazine highlighted the app’s focus on “peer support and stress management strategies aimed at reducing stress-related eating”.
