Demand Logic (officially Demand Logic Limited) is a privately held British company. Demand Logic provides an eponymous data analytics web platform that captures, analyses and visualizes HVAC and other sensor data from commercial buildings.

History

[edit]

Demand Logic was founded 2007. The company name reflects the original intention to develop demand response services for buildings. [1]

In 2009, Demand Logic received a research & development grant from the Carbon Trust. [citation needed]

In 2012, the building analytics platform was trialed at the King's College London. Two years later, a case study found that energy saving opportunities worth £390.000 had been identified during the trial. [2][3]

In 2013, the first Data Acquisition Device was installed in a customer building, the Financial Times headquarters. [4]

In 2014, Demand Logic led a joint venture with London South Bank University, Environmental Design Solutions [1] and Verco Advisory Services [2], which won a match-funded research & development grant of £632,000 from the Technology Strategy Board, the UK's innovation agency. [5][6]

In 2015, Demand Logic won an Ashden award. [7]

In 2016, a case study by the Better Buildings Partnership [3] found that Demand Logic's platform has helped its members to save 11,800 tonnes of CO2 per year. [8][9]

In 2019, Demand Logic received funding from venture capital firm Property Innovation Labs (Pi Labs). [10]

Building analytics platform

[edit]

Demand Logic installs an embedded Data Acquisition Device (DAD) in a building. It captures HVAC data from the building's management system and other sensors. The building data is then analyzed and visualized in the building analytics platform, in order to identify opportunities to operate the building more energy-efficient, to reduce maintenance cost, and to improve occupant comfort. [2][5][8][9][11][12][13][14][15]
