FIA World Endurance Championship seasons
2026–27 →

The 2025–2026 FIA World Endurance Championship was the thirteenth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series was open to Hypercars (built under LMH or LMDh regulations) and LMGT3 racing cars.

For the first time in World Endurance Championship history, the amount of full-season entries in the top class exceeded twenty: 22 cars were featured on the full-season grid. Furthermore, the ACO was due to start experimenting with 'success ballast' for this season: for the first three rounds, cars were to be kept the same weight, and from round four onwards, weight would be distributed based on manufacturers' standings in the Hypercar Manufacturers' Championship. However, after the qualifying session in Monza, the ACO decided to scrap success ballast, since they were of the opinion that the cars were close enough in both classes.[1]

Schedule

[edit]

The schedule was released during the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend, on 11 June 2024. The calendar received a full overhaul: except the 24 Hours of Le Mans, none of the races from last season were held this season, with eight completely new races appearing instead.[2] The Prologue was also held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the first time.[2]
