The WTA Spice Girls is an imaginary name given to five WTA tennis players, to form a mock version of the real Spice Girls. The group consists of:
- Jelena Janković as Sporty Spice
- Victoria Azarenka as Ginger Spice
- Caroline Wozniacki as Baby Spice
- Ana Ivanovic as Posh Spice
- Serena Williams as Scary Spice
All five have reached World No. 1 and have won 17 Grand Slam singles titles between them (Williams 15 titles, and Azarenka and Ivanovic one each).
So far, two real Spice Girls songs, Say You'll Be There and Stop have been used on top of montages featuring these five players, with real lyrics timed to the real songs.
Members
[edit]Jelena Janković
[edit]Jelena Janković has been given the nickname Sporty Spice due to her serious looks and personality on and off court.
Victoria Azarenka
[edit]Victoria Azarenka has been given the nickname Ginger Spice due to her defensive style of play in real tennis matches and also her appearance and personality. She also has the potential to be as mean as the real Ginger Spice on and off court.
Caroline Wozniacki
[edit]Caroline Wozniacki has been given the nickname Baby Spice as she is the youngest one in the group and is the only blonde amongst the five players.
Ana Ivanovic
[edit]Ana Ivanovic has been given the nickname Posh Spice due to her glamorous personality and her well-documented former relationship with Australian golfer Adam Scott. Like the real Posh Spice, Ivanovic formerly had a famous sporting boyfriend, however, unlike the real Posh Spice, Ivanovic has just recently split up from her famous boyfriend so she can focus on getting her career back on track after having fallen to as low as World No. 65 in the WTA World Rankings.
Serena Williams
[edit]As the oldest member in the group, Serena Williams has been nicknamed Scary Spice due to her personality and sometimes controversial behaviour in tennis matches, none more so than the line call which cost her the semi-final match against Kim Clijsters at the 2009 US Open.

[edit]The ATP Big Four is a name given to four of the ATP's current Top Four: Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal. Like the WTA Spice Girls, real songs from real bands such as Hard-Fi, Muse, and in the near future Coldplay, are used on top of montages featuring images of these four players, and real lyrics timed to the real songs.
