Richard Courtney is a climate and atmospheric science consultant. He served as an expert reviewer for the United Nations IPCC assessment of global warming in 2001[1].

He has co-authored multiple papers published in Energy and Environment expressing skepticism of anthropogenic global warming and questioning the accuracy of climate models[2][3].

Courtney was a signatory of a December 13, 2007 open letter to the United Nations expressing climate skepticism [4].
