Style guide template

Unfortunately, it should be obvious that exceptions = no hard rule; but a handful of willful editors think that WP:MOS should be hard rules, which will improve and modernize all Wikipedia. They have attempted to insist on the "logical" system of relating punctuations and quotes, on the use of Socrates's, and now on a recommendation of gender-neutral language, all unconditional; all of these are on WT:MOS, and there are more on the other MOS talk pages. Please consider restoring the sentence about ignoring any MOS rule rather than being clumsy or inaccurate; it needs to be said. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 18:57, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

"Whilst"

A very minor quibble: I saw your comment on the MOS talk page. "Whilst" is still used in Britain instead of "while". It's archaic in the U.S., but Wikipedia is a global project and we allow both American English and British English. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 22:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here. (Note: This is a notification by myself, because you were the copyeditor of this article). Palpatine's chancellorship

When you get the time: Should this article on Palpatine's chancellorship even exist? I think it is leftover from a time when the Palpatine article was too detailed and subsequently chopped up into sub-articles (which of course became even more detailed as their own articles). Dmoon1 20:55, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Never mind. It looks like it was nominated for deletion shortly after I left you this message. Dmoon1 05:09, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Walker

Hiya. Would you object to me working on the Walker article in your user space? You mention on the talk page but not user page that you're still working on it... Don't want to step on toes. --EEMeltonIV 23:38, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't know who User:Hbdragon88 is, but he removed the bit about you working on the Walker article. Anyhow, since you haven't edited it in a while, I'm going to copy-and-paste it to user space and work on it there. If Hbdragon88 is in error and you're still actively editing it, just give me a heads up and, if I actually make/made any progress on it, we'll merge them.
Sorry to see you become less active. Mind if I ask what happened? --EEMeltonIV 02:08, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Feedback

Deckiller, I am currently up for administratorship at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Wisdom89 and would greatly appreciate any feedback or comments you could contribute that would be serviceable (regardless of how you vote). I'd just like to get some objective eyes on this so I can better understand the process and perhaps learn something. Thanks! Wisdom89 18:10, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

FFXII Plot Rewrite?

Hi, Tyler. I'm so sorry to bother you, given that you're now on a wikibreak, but an editor is challenging the present Plot section of the article the WP:FF worked so hard to bring to FA, Final Fantasy XII. If you can give some feedback on the issue, WP:FF would be very grateful. Hoping for your feedback. — Blue 11:33, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, Tyler, for your feedback. Really, where are all the sensible editors these days? — Blue 04:15, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of battles in Star Wars: Clone Wars, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of battles in Star Wars: Clone Wars is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of battles in Star Wars: Clone Wars, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hey there

You too Deck ? Geez, this place is not at all what it was in 2006 :( I hope all is well with you besides Wikipedia. Take care. Renmiri 00:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Tee hee hee. Take a break you say ? yep. Agreed. And don't forget to put in your page why the break is needed ;) Renmiri 05:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
How ya doing ? I have been going nuts with a Final Fantasy project at Second Life Renmiri 05:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Assistance

Given the help you've given Sabre and myself regarding writing quality StarCraft articles, I'd like your feedback on a Yu-Gi-Oh! article. Recently, the three cards the article discusses were merged into this article and thus it is still undergoing frequent revisions, but I'd appreciate your advice on how to improve it. Um....anything? The Clawed One 16:39, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Per the note at the top of the page, Deckiller is on an indefinite wikibreak. Pagrashtak 16:45, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

WP:FF

Hi Tyler. I noticed you removed your name from the past participants section of the WP:FF participant page. Would you like to add your name back to the active participant list? I know you want to :). Or would you like it to stay? — Blue 18:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy

Welcome back, even if it's only temporary. Thanks for the copy editing you've done on the Final Fantasy article, it looks very much improved. Copy editing is one of my weaker points. Hopefully you'll be around long enough to see it make FA. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:15, 12 November 2007 (UTC))

Tyler, are your copyediting concerns at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Final Fantasy addressed ? Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:32, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I hope school is going well, best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Walkers

Welcome back Deck! Let me know when the Walker article is ready, I was going to nominate it for GA status. -- Judgesurreal777 (talk) 20:02, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey Deck I have a question about the war going on at the WP:FICTION talk page. Why don't they just stick with the version already listed on the page, and isn't that the one you wrote? Why are they trying to change it, and what to? I am confused. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 22:34, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Spiffier triple crown, new awards available

The standard triple crown.

Hi, I've been sprucing up the triple crown awards. Here's the new version of the standard triple crown you've already earned. Feel free to replace your old one with this if you like the new version better. I've also introduced two new triple crown awards for editors who've done a lot of triple crown work: the Napoleonic and Alexander the Great edition awards. If you're active in a WikiProject, check out the new offer for custom WikiProject triple crowns. I'll make those upon request if five or more editors qualify. See User:Durova/Triple crown winner's circle for more information. Thanks for your hard work, and cheers! DurovaCharge! 21:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Welcome Back!

If you've got the time — I know you're still on a semi-wikibreak — I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look over 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl and the accompanying Featured Article Review. I've been working on this for the last couple of months, and your review and support could be the thing to push it over the top. Thanks a ton. JKBrooks85 (talk) 18:57, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

FFT Slowdown issue

I was harassed by two IPs in my talk page for removing their input about the slowdown in the Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions article. They added a statement in this diff which I then reverted for being "unpublished opinions". Then a user by the name of Mediumenemycrab reverted my edit and even placed a Youtube link in this diff to point it out. I undid the revision again, citing its verifiability and usage of Youtube links. Then IP 69.86.158.200 contacted me on my talk page and began harassing me with personal attacks. I answered in good faith, but again the IP tried to make a point and another IP 72.213.186.20 harassed me and soon after that another IP 74.232.166.145 followed suit. I gave up and after IP 74.170.38.139 added the disputed content again I just tweaked it and kinda gave up. Could you please help me? — Blue 17:39, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
