From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FPB-57, also known as the Fast Patrol Boat 57 meters, or PB-57 (as not all of them are high-speed vessels), is a patrol boat design developed by Lürssen, a German company. Initially, PT. PAL was only responsible for assembling these ships in Surabaya; however, under the terms of the agreement, PT. PAL also acquired the rights to manufacture this vessel design. As a result, these ships are now produced domestically in Surabaya.[1]

This vessel is a variant of the Albatros-class fast attack craft, also designed by Lürssen. A total of 10 units were produced, but during the 2004-2005 period, all vessels from the Albatros class were decommissioned, with some sold to the Ghana Navy and the Tunisian National Navy.
