Submission declined on 7 February 2024 by Bearcat (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of websites). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by Bearcat 8 months ago. |
- Comment: Four of the five footnotes here are primary or unreliable sources that do not constitute support for notability. For example, an award only counts as a notability claim if you can source the statement to media coverage that treats said award as news, and not if you have to rely on the award's own self-published website about itself: an award has to itself be notable in the first place before it can make its winners notable for winning it, so your source for an award claim has to be media coverage that treats said award as news in order to establish that the award is a notable one.
Meanwhile, Shedoesthecity is a blog, not an established media outlet of record — so it would be acceptable to use as supplementary support for stray facts after WP:GNG had already been properly covered off by better sources, but does not itself contribute to getting the topic over GNG at all.
The only solid, fully GNG-worthy source here is the Playback hit, but one good source isn't enough.
In other words, this needs better sourcing than you've shown. Bearcat (talk) 22:58, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: "a biting satire": Who says the satire is biting? "Exclusive products": Who or what is being excluded from whom, what or where? Hoary (talk) 23:37, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
The Drop is a Canadian digital comedy series created by and starring Dani Pagliarello and Aisha Evelyna[1]. The series was produced by True West Films[2], and premiered via Narcity Canada's[3] YouTube channel on May 5, 2023[4]. The Drop follows Zara and Polly who #werk in Toronto as "professional" line-waiters- hired by the rich and lazy to stand in line for exclusive products on the day they drop. The series is a biting satire on modern day consumerism, transactional friendships, and the ever-expanding wealth gap.[5]
In 2023, The Drop was an official selection at numerous series festivals and garnered several awards, including Best Toronto Web series at the 2023 T.O. Webfest.[6]
Produced by Elizabeth Yake and Executive Produced by Liz Whitmere[2], The Drop stars co-creators and writers, Dani Pagliarello and Aisha Evelyna. Cast appearances also include Aurora Browne, Nicole Power, Mark Little, Kris Siddiqi, Mishka Thébaud, and Nigel Downer.[2]
