Shaun McNeil (born 2 February 1999, Irvine, North Ayrshire) is a Scottish recording artist and actor. He is the youngest brother of singer-songwriter and award-winning actor, Dalton McNeil.

McNeil began his music career in 2009 after signing a recording deal with Interscope, the same label as his older brother. He released his multi-platinum selling debut album, I Want You (2010) which would go on to sell over six million copies worldwide. Two singles were released prior and after the release of the album, "Forever" was released in March 2010 and achevied poor success, only making #48 on the UK Dance Singles Charts. After low success, and the threat of being dropped from Interscope before the release of a debut album, McNeil turned to help from his older brother Dalton McNeil. He penned the track, "Bittersweet" which was released in July 2010 and managed #14 on the UK Singles Charts, as well as charting at #66 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Another track penned by his brother, "Yeah & Yeah" acheived McNeil his first top ten single, both in the UK and US, reaching #2 on the UK Singles Charts and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Background
Early life and family
McNeil was born on February 2, 1999 in Irvine Central Hospital situated in the town of Irvine in central Scotland in North Ayrshire. He was raised in the Longpark area of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire until 2005, where his family moved to Hurlford. In 2010, the family moved back into Kilmarnock. At the age of eight, he ran away from home in the middle of the night due to depression as he was being bullied at school. His older brother, Dalton, who was eleven at the time, found him by a river.
