The erg agama (Trapelus tournevillei), also commonly known as the Sahara agama, is a species of lizard in the family Agamidae. The species is endemic to North Africa.[1]
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, tournevillei, is in honor of French herpetologist Albert Tourneville.[3]
Geographic range
[edit]T. tournevillei is found in Algeria and Tunisia.[1]
Habitat
[edit]The natural habitat of T. tournevillei is hot deserts.[1]
Reproduction
[edit]T. tournevillei is oviparous.[2]
Conservation status
[edit]T. tournevillei is threatened by habitat loss.[1]
