Tha Carter IV is the upcoming eighth studio album by rapper Lil Wayne with no release date as of yet.
Background
Wayne mentioned the possibility of this album as early as September 2008.[1] He began recording this album in early October 2008,[2] but later that month he claimed that he did not want this to follow Tha Carter III immediately.[3] In early 2009, Wayne changed his position; he stated that he will release this album in 2009, the same year as his rock album Rebirth, around the end of the year.[4][5][6][7] The possibility of Tha Carter IV being released in 2009 is slim. Production duo Play-N-Skillz has been tapped to contribute production.[8] Lil Wayne has recently announced in an interview that Tha Carter IV is set in 2010. On a interview with DJ Drama on September 27,2009 Wayne spoke on Tha Carter IV and said he's ready for Dedication 4 (mixtape) and once he gets that out he will put out Tha Carter IV for J.J. Baldwin.
