Wikidata

[edit]

Wikidata stores FISA IDs with Property:P2091. There are 5559 items of rowers using this property by now. —MisterSynergy (talk) 08:33, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rowingone.com and 88.85.4.10

[edit]

FISA’s database has been hosted at the domain www.rowingone.com (IP address 88.85.4.10) for a long time. They’ve moved it to www.worldrowing.com entirely, and the old domain (and its IP) are dead for a while now. You can find dead links in enwiki here:

If possible, replace direct use with Template:FISA. —MisterSynergy (talk) 08:33, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The IP is no longer used in enwiki at all, while rowingone.com still appears on some non-article pages. —MisterSynergy (talk) 06:51, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How can I translate it to spanish

[edit]

Hello, I don't really know how templates work, but I would like to translate this cool template to spanish to use it at the end of spanish rowers articles. I think it must be relatively easy because there are translations to other languages, but I really don't understand the code. Can you help, or tell me a place to look for information? I'm also completing spanish rowers data in wikidata. Thanks in advance! --Carlos Molina Fisico (talk) 00:59, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No idea whether and how Wikidata use is permitted in eswiki. Assuming there are not obstacles in this question, I’d make a local copy (maybe via version import) and then: (1) translate the visible text to Spanish, (2) check whether all templates and modules used in this template are available and functional in eswiki; if not, some functionality can be removed without breaking the entire template, (3) create tracking categories listed at the bottom of this template in eswiki, (4) create documentation etc, (5) use it in articles; you could start here to replace existing use. Ping me from eswiki if you need help. —MisterSynergy (talk) 06:12, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No longer working

[edit]

FISA have restructured their website again, and the pages of the format http://www.worldrowing.com/athletes/athlete/nnnnn/ no longer work. David Biddulph (talk) 03:15, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The old numeric identifiers have been replaced by pseudo-random UUIDs. I have compiled a mapping table of new and old identifiers for all entries in the new database. It will go to Wikidata first, probably in a week or so, and I can offer to make these replacements here in enwiki as well if this is okay for this community.
At this place it is worth to mention that the new database contains ~9000 fewer entries than the old one (now 41722 vs. ~51000 previously); I suspect that empty profiles without any race results are no longer online. FISA also needs to improve their new website further, as some parts are currently not working properly. —MisterSynergy (talk) 18:18, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
