Colours

[edit]

I thought I'd post my edit summary here as well, in case there's a disagreement and discussion should ensure. Colours aren't needed in Template:Television critical response, thus matching the format of Template:Television season ratings; Template:Series overview, of which this is a fork, uses colours to match with Template:Episode table. -- /Alex/21 02:08, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you didn't provide a justification as to why colors shouldn't be included? Having consistent colors across an article for each season of a show helps with navigability. I believe colors should certainly be an option in this template. Rmaloney3 (talk) 16:44, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Over a year later, and I certainly did; read above. How are colours going to help you understand Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores? Or would they solely be for display purposes? -- /Alex/21 22:29, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Caption

[edit]

@Alex 21: I was looking at the documentation, and it appears you can override the default caption with |title=, but I don't see in the Lua code a |caption= to set as desired, or a |show_caption= flag to make it visible. Can these be added in? (For context, I want to use table headers for the critical response tables at Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Four for both this and the film one over section headers.) - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:15, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Alex 21: giving you another ping Alex in case you missed the first one. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:06, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, somehow completely missed it! I'll take a look into it for you, shouldn't be hard at all. -- /Alex/21 14:14, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, thank you! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:27, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done You can now set your own |caption= as desired, as well as the inclusion of the |show_caption= flag. -- /Alex/21 04:22, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex 21: Looks good! Thanks so much! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:11, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One row category not working

[edit]

Hey, seems a category exists and mentioned in the module, Category:Articles using Template:Television critical response with only one row (10), for articles that only have one row. That's currently empty but André the Giant (film) is using a redirect of this template with one row so think should appear in that category so think category isn't working, can someone have a look please? Indagate (talk) 18:17, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Template query, add to category based on blank parameters Indagate (talk) 10:54, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No reference

[edit]

Hey, is it possible to add page to a category or generate error if this template is used without a reference in a non-empty cell, i.e. does it contain "ref", to avoid unsourced content? Indagate (talk) 14:23, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Simply tag the content with {{cn}} if it's unsourced? -- Alex_21 TALK 14:27, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can do but thought category or error could help find the unsourced content instead of manually looking and tagging otherwise it could go unnoticed
An example is Brooklyn Nine-Nine#Critical response which has unsourced table since 14 October 2019 (https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Brooklyn_Nine-Nine&oldid=921121236), more likely to have been tagged or sourced if category or error Indagate (talk) 14:37, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
