Vereniging tegen de Kwakzalverij

[edit]

Hey everyone. I'm wondering whether the Vereniging tegen de Kwakzalverij should be included in the template. It is a skeptical organization, but it focuses specifically on alternative medicine and does not deal with other pseudosciences and paranormal claims. Hello Stefan, yes the VtdK qualifies as a skeptical organisation, but it has a "narrow mandate", whereas organisations like CSICOP and Stichting Skepsis have a "broad mandate" in the words of Daniel Loxton. Read more here (I recently expanded that section). Greetings, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 06:29, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Don't group by country

[edit]

After having complied to the pre-8 November 2014 structuring of this template, I think makes little sense to group the organisations by country (or continent). First of all, some organisations are transnational or international, like CFI, GWUP or RDFRS. Second, most of these organisations closely cooperate across borders and are part of the same international skeptical movement; I don't see the need to emphasise the different countries here. The third is practical: for most countries it will mean only one or two entries taking up an entire paragraph, making it unnecessarily long, while for some arbitrary reason others are lumped together in the broader categories of "Europe" and "Other". If readers really want to know in which countries these organisations operate, they only have to click on the link. I'll give others the time to respond, but if nothing happens for several days, I will remove the groups and make this template ordered alphabetically.
